Um, good Scotch is not just any whiskey.

And that's why you must boycott this poll?
Very clever.
You enjoy such unfriendly answers?

Btw: Scotch is not Whiskey, but Whisky - if you must play "clever".
You should know that.

And:
a poll here allows only 10 options.
So I can not list 1000 details.

Fair enough.

I suppose that's a matter of where one comes from?

Other than single malt, I do like an IPA with a bourbon on the rocks (Woodford Reserve).

I prefer wine coolers, specifically wild berries and a specific red wine called Roscato which is a really sweet red wine.

I have now read about it: :)

What kind of wine is Roscato?
Roscato is an irresistible range of high-quality wines from Northern Italy. Whether you are a fan of sweet, rich, bold, or soft & silky wines, Roscato offers a perfect complement to any cuisine. Intense aromas of blackberries and ripe wild berries. Fresh, lively, and frizzante with a soft lingering finish. These wines make an excellent aperitif and are also incredibly food-friendly.

My palate has been skewing toward less aggressive flavors lately. I still, and will always, love my heavily peated Islay single malts over anything else, but I've been preferring them on the rocks rather than neat. I've been working my way through a bottle of Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 2012 that's quite nice with a couple of ice cubes.

For beer, I've been into lighter, citrus-forward brews like Flying Dog Numero Uno and everything in the Sam Summer sampler, especially their Porch Rocker Lemon Radler. I've got some Paulaner Grapefruit Radler that's got a nice flavor but is sweet enough to be a soda or wine cooler. I wish some of the stores around here carried a better selection of sours - we've got a Belgian bar near my house that has a fantastic mild cherry sour on tap, but all the sours in the stores are super acidic and taste like stomach bile.

For wine, I've kind of given up trying to pick anything on my own. There are too many options, too much variation within a particular type, and it's too expensive to experiment with. If I'm at a restaurant with a good sommelier, then I'll order the wine pairing (which I recommend to everybody - it's eye-opening), or if I'm at the house of my wine snob friend, I'll drink whatever they put in my hand. But otherwise, I don't bother.

I loves me some tequila, on the rocks with lime. Mezcal is great with cocktails, but I haven't been able to get into it on its own.

If I'm sitting on the porch on a summer night or at a wedding with a limited bar, then I'll do a dry gin martini with a twist, preferably grapefruit, but lemon or lime will do.

If I'm feeling cheap and lazy, then Bulleit rye on the rocks with a few shakes of grapefruit bitters.

Yes, it takes some time to get to know some wines - and of course nobody will ever know all the wines that are there.

My advice: Whenever you come across a wine that you like, remember its name.
So after some time you will acquire some knowledge of and some feeling for wine.

For beer, I like:

Black: Irish Guinness
Brown: Belgian Leffe
Golden: "Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus" - a beer from my home region, the Black Forest. :)

I like wine and champagne most. I prefer the French above all. I'm not a beer drinker. But Chimay is good. Cognac and vodka are fine. They'd better be smooth. I fancy a few liqueurs too. I prefer my own most. But Chambord, St. Germaine, and Grand Marnier are standbys. This list is getting long. Think I'll stop!

Tastings are a good way to expand your palate. Look for the larger wine shops in your area. They usually have them. You want 20 or more pourings. You pay a flat fee and get a print out of the offerings. You can make notes on the paper.

You'll build a nice collection with less guesswork. :)

White wine, well atleast I used to I haven’t been drinking even one drop over two years because I just lost interest :)

While I am reading your posting, I am enjoying a fine Gewürz-Traminer.
I can recommend it! :)
