That is contrary to factual reality and major league projection.

No, it really isn't. Trump tried to prevent the peaceful transfer of power - that really is a big stinking deal.
I still see a double standard and was Trump convicted of trying to prevent a peaceful transfer of power? It would take a lot more people and a lot of weapons to accomplish that.

Kudos for you for at least accepting that he didn't -- Congrats; you're at least one up on Donald himself.

And you'd be howling for executions instead of manufacturing deflections. Your point?

Well, if you loved him, you'd have marched in his name like the others.

WHO started a riot and insurrection attempt is indeed important.
I would not be howling for executions and the double standard continues. Breaching the Capitol was a bonehead move on their part, which is something I never would have done. Riots had been going on all through 2020 with multiple deaths and injuries involved and a lot of damage and I do not condone any of it.

I still see a double standard ...
Yes, I know you do but it seems to be of your own making rather than something real.

and was Trump convicted of trying to prevent a peaceful transfer of power?
Does he need to be for you to admit what he was trying to do?

It would take a lot more people and a lot of weapons to accomplish that.
Not necessarily. But it would take the right people to have turned traitor to the country. Fortunately, the military commanders were not on Team Traitor.

I would not be howling for executions and the double standard continues.
Who is howling for executions?

Good for you, but these people did do it at 45's instigation. The idea was to delay the vote until 1) Mike Pence would come to the rescue and deny certification, 2) "enough votes" could be found to overturn the outcome or 3) Trumpian electors and senators would change the vote to Trump rather than what the states had already certified.

Riots had been going on all through 2020 with multiple deaths and injuries involved and a lot of damage and I do not condone any of it.
True, but the other riots were not to overthrow the government but for justice from the police and court systems. Still wrong, but a different level of threat.

If so, it seems that something is not adding up. Not if the fact that the killer's name has not been released, no arrest appears to have occurred, and etc.

Is all of that not important enough to be included in your post when you were going on about lesser issues?

I was wondering where this obsession with the police officer's name came from; I should have known it came from Donald.

“Who shot Ashli Babbitt?” asked Donald Trump during his July 3 rally in Florida. “We all saw the hand. We saw the gun. . . . You know, if that were on the other side, the person that did the shooting would be strung up and hung. OK? Now, they don’t want to give the name. . . . It’s a terrible thing, right? Shot. Boom. And it’s a terrible thing.”

Donald wants a lynching, so his followers need a name.

Again, trying to minimize the significance of January 6th insurrection.

I'd say a violent attempt to literally overthrow the government is kind of more serious than a typical riot. Not that riots aren't always serious, of course.

They weren't my favorite baseball team. But, I didn't think they'd go that far.
The Braves are pretty average this year. Cue “Braves” comments…

Once again conservatives are (probably more as a pretense than in actuality) confusing protests (BLM, people listening to Trump in Washington) and riots (looting, Capitol insurrection).

Well, before 1/6, the right only sought to ignore the causes of riots. This time, they've decided to turn a blind eye to the riot itself.

Imagine thinking "stop executing us in the streets" is a radical movement.

The idea that BLM is often derided as "anti-government" for this movement is quite telling.

But... But... But... they're Marxists!
