Is it just me??

Is it just me, or does it seem like a flood of political nonsense has washed over a website about Jesus Christ? Anything ranging from Trump this, Trump that, to straight murdering people across the globe because in America we view them as buttheads.
I feel my IQ drops because it turns to jelly sorting through threads that are solely gossip.
Gossip which, even as voters, we have no authority to do anything. You could vote some guy into office, another guy takes over instead. Your vote is taken under advisement, so the vote really don't have the swag you think it does. That's truth.
The gossip all over is frowned upon in the Bible.
1 Timothy 5:13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
Gossip is hollow, foolish, and useless.
As Christians we should be about our mission, to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, and be willing to give testimony.
I came here because I thought this was a Christian site.
To learn about Christ and be able to hone skills concerning apologetics, and varying faith viewpoints, so to strengthen my efforts in the ministry.
Korea, Trump, and other facebook fox news whatever media it don't matter its all the beast anyways.
People taking the easy way out all the time? Saying it's ok to the things they know the Bible says not to be ok about?

The main reason I mostly steer clear of the politics threads. And the people that think the bible says something different because, after all, we are smarter now than any time in history. I hear you brother.

Politics has become more and more polarizing over the last 2 decades. To some everything theopposition guy does muzzy be wrong or evil. This applies to all to Pres Trump and the last two presidents of not beyond.

Only diff is that more people can't resist letting political leanings contaminate everything.

No it's not just you. I feel like all of it's idolatry. It's like some people have pushed Jesus aside for their so called "political leanings". It's like you have to really search around to find the Christians who are really following Christ. The other thing is the need for people who say their Christians to always seem to fight about any and everything. I've always thought that the Word had the final say so, but apparently some have learned to twist that around. I say stick/stay with Jesus the living word and the written word no matter what. Don't let anyone or anything seduce you away from Him..

I hear your frustration, and I can relate to it, but there are SOOOOO many other threads on this site, that I barely see Trump in any of them. And even so, people have the freedom to talk about whatever topic is on their mind that maybe they wouldn't be able to bring into everyday conversation, just like you and me. Thats the beauty of this site. Don't let the few instances paint such a broad brush.

Suggestion: Maybe take a break from the more heated debatable topics, and try ministering to others weaker in faith in the recovery/christian seeker threads, or pray for those in the prayer walls. Put up sermons, or be an accountability partner for someone.

I don't know, but this forum is what you make it.

I think we are dummer...
Seems like now all we are doing is moving more towards what was shown in the movie WALL-E. People all gliding around on reclined chairs with a computer screen in front of them, with robots doing all the work. They had been that way so long, they didn't have most of their bones anymore.
I saw something about a refrigerator that comes to you when you call it, wow, now that's laziness.

The site is mainly about christian issues. The are only a few sections with politics in them. Though since Trump won there have been WAY more political issues because the general view is "christians" voted him in. So even amongst christians people are fighting about politics more then they were before.

Originally I thought Christians were above it all, it was special to be a Christian and made a person different. But Christian is only a word used as a label to identify ourselves. Not just others but myself too, helped me understand we're all human regardless. Even the most well-intended people are flawed and mistaken.

I agree with it mostly being parts of the forum having politics. Its a great difference when less time is given to politics, forum or television. Usually the religious disagreements aren't as mentally draining, but can be a near second.

Sorry to drop this truthbomb here but many so called christians has been praising more Trump than Jesus. Talking about corona more than talking about gospel of Jesus Christ. Where is your attention? Who is your God?

No it isn't just you. I feel the same way. We should all be looking towards Christ, not career politicians. God is Sovereign. He puts people in power for his own reasons, and they may be reasons we cannot fathom. We have to trust in HIM and HIM alone.

We live in the last days so every christian will be tested with fire. It sad to see that those who are good and spreading the word of Christ is hated by so called ”brothers and sisters in Christ” I see that every day. There is no love in them. No understanding. Truth is hated because they are under spell of liar who rules this world right now. He kill, destroy and steal and there is no truth in him.

Divisiveness has always existed in all societies. But in the modern world, it’s magnified by the internet. We now have instant access to an enormous and largely unfiltered universe of news and opinions. Many, many of which are pure fabrications intended to stir up credulous believers. Human beings are instinctively tribalistic. And the purveyors of bogus claims and crackpot ideas exploit this. It’s just a sad aspect of life in the 21st century.

Talking last night with a fellow Australian who lived and worked in the USA for three years quite some time ago, he said he thought the polarization between Republicans and Democrats had gotten much worse.

It was there when he was a resident, but nowhere near the level it's gotten to today.

The impression I get from browsing this mainly US based and activated forum is that the divide is affecting a number of things including perceptions about vaccination, civil rights, firearms control, national leadership, race, and of course claims about electoral fraud.

Some goes beyond ordinary politics. And could be dangerous. I want to believe most people are rational and discerning. But unfortunately, some seem susceptible to internet brain pollution. Those infected with that QAnon mind rot are a prime example.

I noticed a decline in the quality of the covered dish suppers here in the South. Nobody cooks anymore. Everything comes from a grocery store deli.
