Yet a study showed that there was a drop in NFL viewership because of the political crap the NFL was involved in. There have been surveys conducted that also showed support is down due to NFL allowing politics into the sport.
That article made speculations as to why viewership was down. However specific research and surveys indicate more specifically why NFL support was down.
We'll see what happens this year. The NBA plummeted hard after their political stance. It's not coincidence.
We don't want politics in our face everywhere we turn. We watch sports to get away from it all.
Neither league plumeeted due to political stances, that's completely made up.
Covid restrictions affected everything for all leagues, but political views didn't. The reality is that every person who complained about any league's "politics" and claimed they would stop watching were just huffing and puffing with no intention of following through. Every week I hear the same people claim that they're not watching or done with the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. etc. ad nauseum. It's like all the people who claim they want to leave New Jersey - they all clamor about it endlessly yet they never, ever do it. Because in reality they don't want to do it - they just want the attention, they want to throw a tantrum and have someone say,, "Oh, I'm sorry you're so angry, I'll help you fight against the things you hate about this so that you don't leave, please don't leave our group, please stay, we want you to stay, you're so important to us, we're sorry we hurt you!!!"
But these people just don't realize that their tantrums don't work, so they just throw the same tantrum week after week... "I'm DONE with [insert target of outrage here]!!!!" LOL, it's ridiculous at this point, the tantrum-throwers are a running joke that nobody takes seriously at all.
