The statement above should be a wake up call to every human on the planet.

Only one human being has ever kept the ten commandments perfectly.

Do you think the rich young man was "born-again" of the Spirit of God, just because he claimed to keep the ten commandments?

Gal 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
Gal 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Two books of the Bible were written to address the Judaisers.
The Book of Galatians, and the Book of Hebrews were both written to reveal the truth about the battle between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant.

Heb 8:13 In that He says, "A NEW COVENANT," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

.

You seem to be all over the place in this discussion. Instead of staying on one topic and discussing it once you see that what you have just stated disagrees with the scriptures your right away off to the next topic. If you read and understood what you were quoting from in the full post (not the small part you have taken out of context; see post # 876 linked) in regards to Matthew 19:16-26 you should know that in the very words quoted from Jesus no one receives everlasting life while practicing known unrepentant sin. This is also shown in Hebrews 10:26-31. In Matthew 19:16-26 Jesus had shown the rich young ruler that he loved his money and possessions more than God and he was breaking the first two commandments of our duty of love to God even though he thought he was being obedient to God's 10 commandments.

As posted to you elsewhere, obedience to God's 10 commandments is not how we are saved it is the fruit of faith the words by love (see Matthew 22:36-40; Romans 13:8-12; James 2:10-12; 1 John 5:2-3; John 14:15: John 15:10; Hebrews 8:10-12 from Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 36:24-27). According to the scriptures we are saved by grace through faith and not of ourselves it is a gift of God and not of works lest any man should boast *Ephesians 2:8-9. As posted earlier, obedience to God's words are not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of genuine faith of one that is already been given Gods promise of salvation and the fruit of God's work in us *Philippians 2:13 as we believe and follow his word *John 10:26-27. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *James 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *Matthew 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50; Hebrews 10:26-27.

Therefore we do not abolish God's law through faith like some people teach but God's law is established in the heart by faith that works by love *Romans 3:31; 1 John 5:3-4; Romans 13:8-10. According to the scriptures, sin (breaking God' commandments and not believing and following God's Word) is the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil *1 John 3:6-10; 1 John 2:3-4; Revelation 12:17; Revelation 14:12; Revelation 22:14 and God's 4th commandment is one of God's 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken according to the scriptures (Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; James 2:10-11). According to the scriptures no one enters into God's kingdom while practicing known unrepentant sin. Those who do so according to the scriptures are in danger of the judgment according to Hebrews 10:26-27. Of course we know that God's 4th commandment is one of God's 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken according to the scriptures in Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 2:4 and James 2:10-11 and this seems to be a stumbling block for many here.

Take care

Those dreams did not interpret themselves. Joseph interpreted them though the help of God. But Joseph didn't start out by saying "thus saith the Lord". He just said, "This is the interpretation of it".
Brother, happy Sabbath and happy Sabbath to everyone! The passage makes a general statement: all "interpretations" belong to God! This means that Scripture interprets itself when you use everything God has said and don't isolate a passage from the rest of Scripture.

When Joseph came to them the next morning, he saw that they were dejected. So he asked Pharaoh’s officials who were in custody with him in his master’s house, “Why do you look so sad today?” “We both had dreams,” they answered, “but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.” (Genesis 40:6-8 NIV)

Let's look at an example of how some use Paul's message to say the opposite of Jesus' message when that interpretation is not allowed and forewarned are we by Peter that some of what Paul says is difficult for us to understand correctly. Some people mistakenly interpret that Paul takes away the law when Jesus says that the law remains until "everything" is accomplished. Later we learn from Daniel that not everything is accomplished and the correct interpretation is that the new commandment "surpasses" the righteousness of the earlier ones by adding to the commandments without taking anything away.

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:17-20 NIV)

We know from Daniel that there is more to do by Jesus and according to Jesus above statement the earlier ten commandments stay. Judaism does not accept Jesus because He has not fulfilled "everything" that the prophets said about the messiah. Specifically, "the rock" that hits the statue of Nebuchadnezzar, destroys all earlier empires and establishes a kingdom that will "never" end.

In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands-- a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces. (Daniel 2:44-45a NIV)

United in our hope for the soon return of Jesus, Jorge

Jesus also was hard to understand, as evidenced by His own Apostles having to ask Him to explain what He meant.

As for Paul, Peter specified that: "His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction." 2 peter 3:16

But the 1st and 2nd century church fathers were not ignorant and unstable. And they are the ones who established according to Scripture how the Old Covenant Law pertains to the Church established by Jesus through the New Covenant.

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:17-20 NIV)

Are you adhering to every last little bit of the Law as per Matthew 5:18-19?

If man was given the Sabbath after Creation days, why isn't it recorded in all history until after Israel crossed the Red Sea. If the Sabbath was so important why didn't God stop the Israelites and have them observe during their flight out of Egypt? I know you cannot answer those questions, but it surely should make you think.

Sadly the object of the exercise is not to think...

It is all about presenting scripture to support a theology.

I am not sure what happened to the 'renewing of the mind' it doesn't seem to feature in the exercise.

The scripture below is the part you seem to have trouble finding in many of your posts.

Many times you quote from 1 John, but often leave out the end of chapter 3.

Why do you have trouble finding this passage?

It defines "His commandments".

1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

.

I love the scriptures and have no problem with them at all but I think you do once context is added back in and subject matter to the rest of the bible. It is your interpretation of these scriptures that you teach abolishes Gods' law that is the problem and that love is separate from obedience to God's law that is not biblical but let's show why I say this from the scriptures....

According to the scriptures love is not separate from God's law it is expressed in obedience to Gods' law but let's look at what the scriptures say. Firstly let's look at the context of 1 John that you started quoting above and the reason for the epistle is given in 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. So the reason John was writing these letters was that we sin not.

According to the scriptures sin is the breaking of anyone of God's 10 commandments *James 2:10-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4 or knowingly not believing and following what God's Word says *Romans 14:23; James 4:17. John goes on to say in 1 John 2:3-4 and hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Then in 1 John 3:4-7 Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. So we are told how we know God is by what we do. If we know God we do not practice sin (defined as breaking God's law and not believing his Word).

John continues, in 1 John 8-10 He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother. So the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil is sin. That is the children of the devil practice known unrepentant sin while the children of God do not practice sin. They are obedient to Gods' law that is they do not practice breaking God's law and commit known unrepentant sin and are obedient to obeying God's commandments (see also Revelation 12:17; Revelation 14:12; Revelation 22:14).

John then links the obedience of God's law to love at the end of 1 John 3:10 where he says , In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother because love is expressed in obedience to God's law not by breaking God's law. In 1 John 3:11-24 John compared hate with murder and breaking God's commandments with love and obedience to Gods' commandments. This is the new covenant teaching of Hebrews 8:10-12 from Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 36:24-27 and why we need to be born again to love in order to keep God's law from the heart. John also defines what he means in linking obedience to God's law to love when he says in 1 John 2:2-3 [2], By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. [3], For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

This is agreeing with Jesus and is why Jesus says in Matthew 22:36-40 on these two great commandments of love to God and love to man hang all the law and the prophets. Love is not separate from Gods' law it is expressed through obedience to Gods' law. For example if I love my fellow man I will not lie to them, steal from them, or murder them the same as if I love God I will not have other Gods, make idols and worship them, take God's name in vain and break His "seventh day" Sabbath.

Paul is also agreeing with Jesus and John here where he says in Romans 13:8-10 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love works no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Love therefore according to the scriptures fulfills Gods' law and is expressed through obedience to God's law not by breaking God's law. Of course this includes our duty of love to God which includes remembering Gods' "seventh day" Sabbath according to God's 4th commandment which is one of God's 10 commandments that show how we express our love to God.

Take Care.

The Bible must be considered in it's entirety at times. Please read the response below.
The Written Law has served an important purpose but for the New Covenant believer, is eclipsed by the Law of the Spirit within.
Both remain, because the Spirit uses the Written Law to bring conviction to the unsaved.
The saved under the New Covenant have the indwelling Living Word of the author of the Law.
This is a much more superior line of communication and is specific to individual circumstances in ways the Written Law never was.

Yah said that he would write his law on our hearts. If you believe that YHWH will be writing a different law on our hearts, than the ones that were already given; then I would test that spirit. I test the spirits with the word of YHWH.
What exactly was written on our hearts?

Romans 5:5
And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
So what Law, Word is in the heart through Christ?

The Engrafted Word which is the Law of Liberty. Which includes and is not limited to The Royal law (love thy neighbor) and the ten commandments, the whole Law, in which we will be judged by.

James explicitly states what laws are in those whom hear God. Follow along please

Let us not be tempted, drawn away by our own Lust, bringing forth sin unto death. For every good gift and perfect gift cometh down from the Father of lights, us. We are Begotten by the word of truth, receive with meekness the engrafted word, the PERFECT gift.

Being Begotten of the word. Be doers of the engrafted word not hearers only deceiving ourselves. For we are Begotten so don't forget who we are when Looking into a mirror at the perfect law of Liberty. Who we now are, the first fruits of His creatures. Begotten through the engrafted word and continue therein when we goeth our way.

Be a doer of the work and we will be blessed in the deeds. Being Begotten with the engrafted Word, The Royal Law, the Whole Law, the Law of Liberty in which we will be judged.

Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Jas 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Jas 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Jas 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
Jas 1:20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
Jas 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Jas 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
Jas 1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Jas 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Jas 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
Jas 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Jas 2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
Jas 2:2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
Jas 2:3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
Jas 2:4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
Jas 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
Jas 2:6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
Jas 2:7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
Jas 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
Jas 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
A big post you have there.

Can you abbreviate your post to say under ten lines?

If you could state exactly what you mean in your post, I found it confusing.
It was only 15 lines of commentary. Our first response was no. Sorry I thought you were being facetious.
If we become transgressors by breaking the ten commandments, the whole law, the royal law and we will be Judged by the Law of Liberty, the engrafted Word which begots us as the first fruit. Then the engrafted word, the Law of Liberty is the royal Law, the ten commandments, the whole law in which we will be judged.

Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

You might consider this scripture...

Eph 2:

11 Therefore remember that previously you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision” which is performed in the flesh by human hands— 12 remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the people of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who previously were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, 15 by abolishing in His flesh the hostility, which is the Law composed of commandments expressed in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two one new person, in this way establishing peace

Respond to the points made within the passage given in James. Quoting Ephesians does not prove James wrong.

It will take a few to expound on Ephesians. But mean while if you will re read the Initial post that you responded to and address it within the passages given.

What make you think scripture can prove scripture wrong in any event?

It doesn't. If there seems to be a contradiction; my first suspect would be a faulty translation.

I prefer to quote YHWH's Word...

I thought you were saying that was how you test the spirit...

How did John come up with this?

(CLV) Jn 1:1
In the beginning was the word, and the word was toward God, and God was the word.

(CLV) Jn 1:2
This was in the beginning toward God.

(CLV) Jn 1:3
All came into being through it, and apart from it not even one thing came into being which has come into being.

I don't see this stated in the Pentateuch. The Pharisees reject this statement; as they reject Yahshua as Messiah.

Yahshua confirms this as repeated in the Book of John.

(CLV) Jn 5:45
"Be not supposing that I shall be accusing you to the Father. He who is accusing you to the Father is Moses, on whom you rely.

(CLV) Jn 5:46
For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for the writes concerning Me.

(CLV) Jn 5:47
Now if you are not believing his writings, how shall you be believing My declarations?"

The Pharisees believed in the writing of the Pentateuch; but, unlike the rightful Priesthood who were exiled from the Temple, they did not believe in the writings of the Book of Jubilees.

Jubilees 16:26

And he blessed his Creator who had created him in his generation, for He had created him according to His good pleasure; for He knew and perceived that from him would arise the plant of righteousness for the eternal generations, and from him a kodesh seed, so that it should become like Him who had made all things.

What make you think scripture can prove scripture wrong in any event?
We don't.
You are not understanding Ephesians correctly and you still have not addressed the initial post within the passages given in their context.

So what Law, Word is in the heart through Christ?
The Engrafted Word which is the Law of Liberty. Which includes The Royal law (love thy neighbor) and the ten commandments, the whole Law, in which we will be judged by.

Being Begotten of the word Be doers of the engrafted word not hearers only deceiving ourselves. For we are Begotten so don't forget who we are when Looking into a mirror at the perfect law of Liberty, Who we now are through the engrafted word and continue therein when we goeth our way.
Be a doer of the work and we will be blessed in the deeds. Being Begotten with the engrafted Word, The Royal Law, the Whole Law, the Law of Liberty in which we will be judged.

Jas 2:2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

Shabbat shalom,

That would be my second suspect. I found that my faulty interpretations were most often founded in faulty translations. As a teenager, these seeming contradictions prompted my search for the truth.
