There was no such concept as "journalistic objectivity" prior to WWII, and everyone knew you had to read multiple newspapers with different viewpoints to get an accurate picture of the world.

Western journalists after WWII had been shell-shocked by the disastrous propaganda of government-controlled press in Germany and the USSR, and people like Edward Murrow championed the concept of objective journalism in the post-war period.

The concept only survived for about as long as Murrow himself...the late 60s.

Sadly...

The idea of ethical reporting doesn't seem so bad. I think it's funny that when they're pressured to give the names of their sources they suddenly have a high level of "journalistic integrity" and to even ask such a thing is taken as a serious affront to their professionalism.

Lol put on a show?? Every news source was calling it a crisis by July because the border patrol agents were leaking photos of the problem firsthand.

I guess I shouldn't say everyone...AOC and certain members of the squad were still in denial.

Let's compare the exact same news outlet less than 6 months later (after photos were leaked) ...

So at the beginning of the year....it's not a crisis....it's a Trump money scam. How did CNN know? They figured out that was what you wanted to hear.

By the middle of the year....it's a horrible crisis....and who's responsible? Not the Democratic Party members who blocked every effort to prevent it, not the media who ignored it...

Nope, it's somehow the fault of the guy who has been trying to solve it for the previous 2 years. How did CNN know? Same way as last time....they figured out what you wanted to hear...
