Pastor Bruce Wesley of the multi-campus Clear Creek Community Church in Texas, which recently made headlines as some 125 youth and adults got infected with what officials suspect is the COVID-19 Delta variant after attending a church-sponsored student ministry camp, publicly prayed for God’s “mercy” as his church was forced to shutter for a second week.

Wesley did not share how many more people are now infected with the virus. But the church revealed in a statement last Wednesday that the congregation is facing a “second wave” of infections among the families of the infected campers.

I think we can safely say that at least 80% of these people chose, or their parents chose, to take the risk of catching this disease and spreading it to others. It was their decision.
I don't feel sorry for the adults that willingly made that choice.

Lots of anti-vaxxers are about to get a life science lesson first hand.

"The camp took place June 23-27 and involved students from 6th to 12th grade. More than 400 students attended the camp, lead pastor Bruce Wesley said.

The youth group did not leave the campground during the week and only had contact with counselors from their church, according to the health department."

Its been almost a month. How many were hospitalized? Curious.

Just wait until schools open full time. Better restock your mask supply.

For a while after the vaccines rolled out, I thought I would get by on just some surgical masks once in a blue moon, as the pandemic would quickly end as people got vaccinated, but now I'm glad we have alot of N95's stocked up, unfortunately.

Fatality rates aren't high enough for that.

Give it time -- we're only at the "Delta" variant.

By the time we get to "Omega," these walking incubators will have cooked up a proper plague.

The unvaccinated aren't our enemy in this, they are instead unwilling allies in a fight we're going to lose because not enough people buy in.

Unfortunately variants aren’t just created in the US. We need to vaccinate the world.

Yeah, but by then we will know for a fact that COVID19 is really caused by demons and the vaccine is just chock-full of the buggers!

I am just trying to find a bright side in an otherwise horrible 1 1/2 years I wish I could forget.

Yep. People consuming anti-vaxx propaganda are only a little bit at fault for falling for it. The real problem is those pushing that propaganda - whether it be through traditional media, social media, or in face to face discussions (although the latter might end up being self-limiting if the pandemic among the unvaccinated gets bad enough).

True, but that's not going to happen until we get our own house in order.

Unless they lose the fight first.
