As I have explained so many times, the full forensic audit being conducted, the first in our nation's history, is so that any and all problems found can be fixed for future elections. There is no Constitutional path to change the results of the last election. I had hoped that Democrats and Republicans would join the rest of us in order to establish future election integrity. There has not been a full forensic audit conducted in Georgia, critical election records have not been provided and last I heard election workers were still lawyered up.

This so-called "forensic audit" (made up term) is being conducted based on a lie. You can try to characterize it as some noble effort to "establish future election integrity" but we all know better...as Trump himself has demonstrated numerous times --

“The highly respected State Senator Wendy Rogers said in a tweet the hearing today means we must decertify the election,” Trump said. “In any event, the Senate patriots are moving forward with final results to be announced in the not-too-distant future, but based on today’s hearing, why even wait?”

This whole exercise is nothing more than the continuation of the Big Lie, designed to raise money for Trump....and his lackeys who plan to run in 2022 -- based on a lie.

Was that a Senate hearing on the audit or a Trump infomercial?

To do a "full forensic audit" one needs a competent auditor. The Cyber Ninjas have been shown to be incredibly incompetent. So what is the point of this fraudit? Try to reason rationally and let the Kool Aid be for a bit.

Maricopa County actually did a full forensic audit. But it didn't come up with the right results, so the AZ Senate did another one with auditors committed to coming up with the right result.

It's not clear that even the latest audit is coming up with the right results, but Senators will be able to misrepresent it as supporting the Big Lie. The business with early voting counted as mail-in is an example.

The big concern, of course, is that based on the Lie, the legislature will design mechanisms for it to override the vote, thus guaranteeing Republican wins.

No a forensic audit is actually a thing it's when a organization or individual's financial records are audited for a criminal investigation. I have no idea why Valletta others keep using the term in relation to the Arizona voting audit beyond someone started misusing the term to make it sound more serious.

Some of them use this sort of nonsense to support the changes in voting laws that Republicans have been passing or are trying to pass. If they can convince themselves that there was massive cheating (there wasn't), then they can rationalize laws that make it more difficult for minorities and poor to vote.

The real danger is that they'll change the rules so that the legislature can throw out votes. Unfortunately these days you can't depend upon the Supreme Court to reject that.

The Arizona audit is still being conducted, I don't know how many millions of dollars have been spent by Democrats in order to stop the audit. Very little information has been released, but it appears that much was missed by the previous audit. 3981 appear to have been registered after the October 15 deadline and then 18,000 people were quickly taken off of the rolls just after they voted. So this is disturbing information. Please don't attack the auditors. There is no reason to shoot the messenger, let's wait for the report and fix any problems together.

The effort ins so many states around the nation has been to design an election making it harder for people to cheat. Voter ID is crucial, and is supported by the vast majority of Americans.

You misspelled a word. It is a "fraudit". Have you not read the articles about it? They have found nothing. They have had crazy conspiracy ideas shot down and they have repeatedly demonstrated that due to their incompetence that they do not know how to properly run an audit.

Find a reliable source that supports your claims and then you might have "disturbing information". If all you can find are right wing wacko sites that support this you have nothing.

Okay, I know that I should not have to but I did some of @Valletta 's homework for here. Her claim of 18,000 people being removed from the voting rolls can be fact checked. And yes, it turns out 18,000 people were taken off the voting rolls after the last election . . . In Idaho:doh:

Nearly 18,000 people in Ada County removed from voter rolls | ktvb.com

I guess that we need to flip Idaho from a Trump state to a Biden state:D

I could not find anything about 18,000 people in Arizona.

No, that is not the purpose of voter ID laws. The purpose is to keep the "wrong people" from voting as much as possible. The poor, people of color, etc.. There has been no need demonstrated for a person to have an ID at polls. It has been shown that such laws negatively affect people that are more apt to vote Democratic.

Why is it crucial? Is there data to even suggest that voter impersonation is a serious problem, or is more prevalent in states without voter id requirements?

There has never been any issue about voter ID until now. It is a fake issue dreamed up after last November's result.

No losing candidate for election has claimed that the election was rigged; no suggestion has ever been made that systematic irregularities skewed an election result. It is just a lie told oveer and over by the last big loser - Trump.

There are dupes who believe the lie and there are cynics who spread it knowing it for what it is.

According to the latest NPR poll, 79% of Americans said voters should show an ID before voting, 19% said they should not, and the rest were unsure. People are tired of those pulling the race card, you are spouting the line of the hard left, polls show the vast majority of Americans support voter ID. It's not racist to have to show identification in order to get on a plane or to get a government check.

You should provide a link and copy and quote from it when you make such a claim. I went Google searching and found that the feelings were not quite that simple:

Poll: More Americans Are Concerned About Voting Access Than Fraud Prevention

"Voting access vs. fraud
By a 56% to 41% margin,
survey respondents said making sure that everyone who wants to vote can do so is a bigger concern than making sure that no one who is ineligible votes."

You are right about people thinking that showing an ID should be required, but it appears that if push came to shove more would prefer that the voting rights of everyone is protected.

She may be highly respected, but that does not mean she knows our Constitution. There simply is not a Constitutional path for such a thing. No, perhaps conspiracy theorists think they "know better," but indeed the audit is to establish election integrity for future elections. Read the Constitution.

Why right in your link it says:
Do You Think Voters Should Be Required To Show Government-Issued Photo Identification Whenever They Vote?
  • Should
  • Should not
  • Unsure
It says 79% polled said "should."
