It worked well in the USSR.
Well, you know what they say, democracy dies if people have a choice.

You're a tricky one
you asked why they had armed guards in Arizona
and now make it sound like I am advocating "lethal force" against voters. You make it sound like security is some new thing
didn't you hear anything about the ugly confrontations between police and election observers in Detroit?
There were plenty of complaints from Democrats that the Arizona audit lacked proper security.
All we need are a few armed, loyal patriotic citizens to assist with helping voters select the correct candidate and prevent those who would steal democracy from us by choosing a communist or something other than the best preferred candidate.
Today....
Judge Michael Kemp said "any and all" records with a "substantial nexus" to the audit are public records, including all communications related to planning the audit, policies and procedures of the audit and all records disclosing who is paying for the audit and how much is being paid.
"The court completely rejects Senate defendants' argument that since (Cyber Ninjas) and the subvendors are not 'public bodies' they are exempt from the (public records law)," Kemp wrote. "The core purpose of the public records law is to allow public access to official records and other government information so that the public may monitor the performance of government officials and their employees."
Arizona audit: Maricopa County judge says documents are public records
My simple answer, was, and is, security. The correct term is tricksy.
You still haven't answered that one.
Nope, having armed guards at polling centres is a very old thing. My father grew up under the USSR in Czechoslovakia, and told me about it.
How is that relevant? Would there have been ugly confrontations between police and election observers if there had been no police there?
Any of those complaints suggest armed guards were the proper security?
Any chance you'll answer the original question? Why does the Arizona audit require armed guards? Also, who is providing them?
My simple answer, was, and is, security.
It's important that the counting be secure, honest, and thorough. I am at least encouraged that since the audit counts still don't jive with the official counts that they decided to bring in machines from another company and run the ballots through those.
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.
I'll have to learn more about the ballot problems, but the fact that they have found 74,243 mail-in ballots where there is not a clear record of those ballots being sent obviously has a lot of Americans angered. Quite simply, it is time to go out and ask citizens whether they voted. It is time for the truth.More simplistic than simple, also, not an answer.
Are you encouraged by the recent Arizona senate briefing in which every single issue raised had nothing whatsoever to do with ballots? That so far, the entire recount has been a complete and utter waste of time?

It's an audit, don't panic. Did you vote? is not an intrusive question, people don't have to answer. That's a lot different than forcing little kids to wear masks. An example of the problems that didn't require any ballot examination.
Right, sure, that will work. You have conservatives in this thread talking about "government overreach and tyranny" for going door to door about vaccination, but you reckon everyone will be just fine with the government going door to door and asking about voting, and doing so with out any ability to require an actual answer, honest or otherwise.
The result wont even be in the same universe as "truth" . . .
It's an audit, don't panic.

Well, duh, that's obviously a problem that AZ and other states need to move to fix before the next election. I mean Democracy is great and all until it starts letting non-GOP candidates win.I hope Valletta realises what he has said here. Trump lost because 301,000 more people voted for Biden than for Trump.
Maps generated from Maricopa County's 751 precinct cast vote record data show high-wealth precincts around Paradise Valley and the Arcadia area of Phoenix collectively had some of the highest numbers of committed Republican voters who did not vote for Donald Trump. These areas also tend to have residents with higher levels of education.

Which of course was explained by Maricopa county as simply being people who used early in person voting. While they voted in person, those ballots are technically mail in ballots, so of course they weren't sent out.I'll have to learn more about the ballot problems, but the fact that they have found 74,243 mail-in ballots where there is not a clear record of those ballots being sent obviously has a lot of Americans angered. Welcome to AfghanistanOh goodness of course not. We don't want the police or military at voting centers, that would make us look like a third world failed democracy. All we need are a few armed, loyal patriotic citizens to assist with helping voters select the correct candidate and prevent those who would steal democracy from us by choosing a communist or something other than the best preferred candidate.

If there are cases where they did not vote, I would expect some to come forward and offer to sign a statement. You are admitting people have to answer. Unless these people have to sign something that they have to tell the truth or be charged for lying, there is no problem in lying. There is no way the results of going door to door for voters so why do it? It’s not to verify results because it won’t be able to give us trustworthy numbers. So why do it?
Why hold onto these fantasies? If there are cases where they did not vote, I would expect some to come forward and offer to sign a statement.
As I have explained so many times, the full forensic audit being conducted, the first in our nation's history, is so that any and all problems found can be fixed for future elections. There is no Constitutional path to change the results of the last election. I had hoped that Democrats and Republicans would join the rest of us in order to establish future election integrity. There has not been a full forensic audit conducted in Georgia, critical election records have not been provided and last I heard election workers were still lawyered up.Why hold onto these fantasies?
Do you realize that even if by some miracle it was shown that cheating occurred in Arizona (there does not appear to be any evidence for that yet) it would not make one bit of difference in the election? You seem to have forgotten that Trump lost by a landslide. Georgia was checked three times. He lost there, there is no doubt about that. Other close states had recounts and Trump lost there. Arizona is he closest state that there was and even it appears to be solidly Biden.
You would have to flip 37 electoral votes, and it is too late for that. Trump lost. He lost the electoral college and he lost the popular vote.
If anything you should be thinking about the future. Though in some ways I do wish that the toxic Republicans would keep this up. It only guarantees another loss for them in the next election.
