I for one think that it is important, and that it is the Holy Word of the Lord. I have this awsome Bible that takes ever verse (almost every)and breaks it down, so people of out time could put them into our society. It has maps, and timelines, and I strongly recommend this Bible to everyone! Unfortuanetly I don't have time to read the Bible. It's been a year and I am still on Genisis :o  Just to much College work. But when I do have free time, I spend it on stuff like video games, internet fun, and other stuffs. How do you make time to read the Word?

And most of all, in your opinions, is it good to read the Bible? Does it make your day? Inspire you? Elabarte please!!!! :)

God Bless

I agree with all these post here :). I read the Bible as much as I can, I don't know what kind of Bible you have but it sounds like a study Bible, I have one too and gives me understanding in some of the most hard to understands messages like the Prophet Books. Also when I read the word I make for myself in depth notes in my study journal and believe me it helps me reflect on what I read :holy: What I suggest for you is set up a schedule in which you set aside quiet time to study the Bible, it doesn't neccesarily have to be a chapter, maybe a section or a portion of a chapter; study it and see if you can find references to other verses. If you like, check my Thread in the Ministry Forum under the Christian Clubs and you'll find "The Bible Appreciation Club" If you want you can PM me if you want some advice. Believe I at time go through the same problems you go through, but keep praying and organize your time.
Until then God Bless :preist:

It's definitely important. It and prayer is the key to spiritual growth. Each time you study your Bible, it's an experience with God. I'm lazy about it a lot though. I need to start getting up at 4:30 instead of 5:30 and having an hour quiet time each morning. I have a tough time doing that though. It doesn't happen often. It's good when it does happen though. It gives you a better perspective throughout the day.

Dood, Drop the games and the excuses for not reading. Its important that you hear the word. It strengthens you in ways that you can never imagine. How are you going to know what your supposed to do if you don't read? I can understand how school can take up a lot of time, but you have to stick with it. Cuz if you dont, you'll lose track of your priorities.

I think it is definately important. See Luke 10:38-42. Martha was rushing around trying to do things for Jesus, Mary just sat and listened to him. Jesus said "Mary has chosen what is better". Your personal relationship with God should be the most crucial thing. Reading his Word, his revelation to us, must be one of the main ways of growing in this relationship, along with prayer and worship.
Perhaps you could find a close friend to do one-on-one Bible studies with. This will help to motivate you and will still be quite personal and intimate.
Also whilst deep study of passages is great, as you have noticed it is the work of a lifetime to go through the whole Bible like that. You might want to consider getting a NLT or The Message and mixing deep study of small passages with reading whole books, or the whole Bible, with little deep study. This could give a better mix of breadth and depth.
Good luck anyhow, what ever you decide.

YES - reading the Bible is so important and essential for a your life...God speaks through his word, and the word of God is truth - if you don't know the word, how can you move forward...In ephesians it describes the Word of God as the Sword of the spirit, which shows it's a powerful weapon and resource in our daily walk with Jesus.
