So you say. Who shall I believe, you or Lord Jesus?
You saw the words, warnings, commands, and admonitions of Lord Jesus to the Churches that I quoted in the very message you responded to; yet, you refuse to believe Lord Jesus' instruction.
So, for me, the decision is easy. I know I am saved by the grace of God through faith in Lord Jesus. As well, I am responsible to my Lord to remain faithful to Him to the end to be counted worthy by my Lord to share in His resurrection onto life that He purchased for us with His own blood.
Titus 2:11-14 (WEB)
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12 instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age; 13 looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
No Passage in the entire Bible teaches that God guarantees our faith to the end. Rather, the believers are admonished, commanded, and warned to remain faithful, to stand firm in the faith, to remain saved, and to receive eternal life.
No Passage states that once you are born again, you are born again forever, guaranteed.
If I believed God guarantees my faith and salvation to the end because of a past act of faith, then I would feel little motivation to be very careful to remain faithful to follow and obey Him. After all, if my salvation is guaranteed, and since I would be perfect in Heaven anyway, what purpose would there be to continually deny my passions in this earth, and to live a holy life before Him as the Gospel demands?
The Pauline Gospel warns the Christian that he is responsible for his faithfulness to the end to be eternally saved. But, you, go on your way and continue denying the inspired Words of God.
Galatians 6:9 Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up.
1 Timothy 4:16 (WEB)
16 Pay attention to yourself and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
1 Timothy 4:1-2 (WEB) 4 But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron
Romans 11:20-22 (WEB)
20 True; by their unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by your faith.
Do not be conceited, but fear; 21 for if God didn’t spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. 22 See then the goodness and severity of God. Toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off.
Hebrews 3:13-15 (WEB)
13 but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called “today”, lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence firm to the end, 15 while it is said,
“Today if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion.” [Psalm 95:7-8]
Hebrews 12:25 (WEB) See that you (the Christians for whom the letter was written) do not refuse him who speaks. For if they (those OT Israelites) did not escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we (the Christians for whom the letter was written) not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven
Hebrews 10:35-38 (WEB)
35 Therefore do not throw away your boldness, which has a great reward. 36 For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise
Hebrews 4:11 (WEB)
11 Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that Rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:1 (WEB)
Let us fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his Rest.
2 Corinthians 13:5 (WEB) 5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you — unless, of course, you fail the test?
2 Corinthians 11:2 (WEB) For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy. For I married you to one husband, that I might present you as a pure virgin to Christ. 3 But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we didn’t preach, or if you receive a different spirit, which you didn’t receive, or a different “good news”, which you didn’t accept, you put up with that well enough.
