Hello OakJam:

When it finally convicted me of how unworthy my life was compared to the Lord Jesus Christ, and His life. In the beginning my life start as a babe in Christ was being a mean mug shrub to others by judging and condemning them. Then one day out of the blue; realized that my life is not even worthy to be saved. Yet God did send his son to save life; and save all people from their sins, not just myself. The holy spirit/spirit of Christ living with-in me is always desiring to have love for God and to have love for others now. Compared to being a mean mug shrub that once was. Believe that having faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was baptized in holy spirit and fire which has changed my heart around from God our Father putting a new spirit in me, and giving me a new heart. Though in this life it is tough and the world has a lot of trails to throw out at you.

What about for you ?

Yes, I have received the gift of the Holy Ghost. I received it on Sunday, February 22, 2016. I was praying with my father and another brother in the church by my side. Once I finally relinquished myself to God, I was filled with the Holy Ghost and began speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gave me the utterance.

Quite right OJ!

Me? Sunday, June 1st I believe it was, 1986. Some ten full years after receiving Christ by His Spirit as Savior. That one fact is where a great multitude of Christians are refusing to believe, the difference between, being baptized into His body by the Holy Spirit, and the living Lord baptizing you with the Holy Spirit independently, for example, the monumental phrase scores of theologians conveniently set aside,

Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? (Acts 19:2)

I would venture at least half, of Pentecostals have heard reasoning from the unbelieving to twist God’s fundamental understanding of this passage of scripture here, right before their eyes. Have you?

So astounding is this example that you would be hard-pressed to find an equal. But it is true, and it fills their contempt for the possibility,

I don’t believe it, so that can’t possibly mean what you say it means!’, , though they would never admit that.

How does one know if they have the Holy Spirit?
Careful, for I am assuming you remember what the man of God said,

'But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me' for 'The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children'

(2 Timothy 4:17, Romans 8:16)

If the Spirit moves us to question the Spirit’s ‘seal’, especially, in a thread that seeks an answer of our conditioning after our bond (‘believing’ (Acts 8:16) to Christ, one must include ‘try the spirits’ as the Spirit already prepares the questioner and those questioned, a certain element of faith would have to be allowed. For ‘without faith, it is impossible to please God’, and again, ‘where the Spirit is, there is liberty’, takes some of the heat off the weak.

But trying the spirits is good, as well as the question,

How does one know if they have the Holy Spirit?

Speaking from a formerly yet up to the present, grafted mix of that faith, babes in Christ may or may not know tangibly (1 Corinthians 3:1), though quite possible. For those whom have progressed (also resisted by some) in Christ, any testifying (Romans 8:16) and or filling (Ephesians 5:18) the Spirit wishes to supply will become obvious by the above from the only One so meek.

I have Holy Spirit in me and on me. God is so very good!!!!
Almost as important as testifying of our salvation (though in part, that is exactly what you have spoken over.

Welcome 'Mayflower1'! Thank God for another soul touched! I encourage all whom have not yet been baptized in the Spirit subsequent to receiving Christ, don't dispair, we pray God will open that door to minister to you and even now, if you would agree with me that the Father would impart His gift to you in Jesus name!

So I went through a program called Teen Challenge in 2007, which was charismatic. There wasn't a strong focus on Holy Spirit, mainly because there were people from all different faiths who went through this program, but I did get baptized in the Holy Spirit there. After I graduated though and went back to my church, I started thinking it was demonic sadly. I'd always hear tongues in my head when I prayed though, and after a few years, I just prayed to God and just let loose of my own indoctrination and haven't stopped since. I believe, and praying in tongues have really deepened my walk with God. I think partially it was fear of what others thought, and changed churches after going to one after 8 years. I've been going to a new church for about a year and just growing bold in Holy Spirit. So thankful for all God is doing.

I've come a long way too on here from "lily00"

If you had it mind to correct me, you would have scored. It is a shame to withhold mentioning both Gospel and Epistle error warnings. What error remains top of the list? Of course, the damaging information OR more often, omissions concerning the Holy Spirit.

“, , the word of hearing did not profit them, not being mingled by faith, , For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing,, whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”

(Hebrews 4:2, Matthew 13:15, 1 John 4:6)

How does one know if they have the Holy Spirit?
Trying to find an empirical answer for this question was the catalyst for Pentecostalism to begin.
Prior to the rise of Pentecostalism, a post-conversion experience called "entire sanctification" was taught within Methodism and the other denominations that grew out of Methodism. At that point, the phrase "baptism of the Holy Spirit" was used to describe that experience. (The "sanctification" experience is still taught in some of the Wesleyan groups today, including the Church of the Nazarene.)
Charles Parham's Bible students were left over the holidays with the assignment to find a Scriptural sign that one had received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Their conclusion was that throughout the book of Acts, speaking in tongues accompanied reception of the Holy Spirit. The rest is history!
