What's next for the regime? Public executions of anyone who supported Trump? Death by howitzer?

SMH.
I presume that being a Trump supporter doesn't make a person immune to the laws of the country or the rules of the Bar.

What I could see him getting disbarred for is running around with shady foreign agents for the purpose of upending a US election.
and pretending to be a government official and dealing with foreign policy, and lying to the public about election fraud, and bringing unsupported cases to the courts.

Thats the one I agree with. Maybe "wasting the courts time" is a disbarring offense, but I doubt it.

Frivolous litigation - Wikipedia
Frivolous litigation is the use of legal processes with apparent disregard for the merit of one's own arguments. It includes presenting an argument with reason to know that it would certainly fail, or acting without a basic level of diligence in researching the relevant law and facts.

In the United States, Rule 11 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and similar state rules require that an attorney perform a due diligence investigation concerning the factual basis for any claim or defense. Jurisdictions differ on whether a claim or defense can be frivolous if the attorney acted in good faith. Because such a defense or claim wastes the court's and the other parties' time, resources and legal fees, sanctions may be imposed by a court upon the party or the lawyer who presents the frivolous defense or claim.

There's a few threads on twitter with lawyers discussing this. Mostly initially shocked at his license getting revoked pending a hearing since that almost never happens as the disciplinary boards are reluctant to revoke licenses, especially over issues that are heavily involved in politics. So the evidence for keeping it revoked must be very strong. After going through the documents the consensus seems to be that, yeah, the correct decision was made and Giuliani is a fool who basically handed them reasons for suspending his license on a silver platter.

It seems that a large portion of the reasoning comes from things he said (lied about) on TV shows, etc. All he had to do was say that when he said those things, he was expressing his own personal opinion and not acting as a lawyer. But he apparently just said "yep, I said those things as Trump's attorney". They don't like it when lawyers lie when acting as an attorney.

This could also be quite good news for Dominion in their defamation suit against him.

Many proper lawyers and legal firms refused to take up these cases and present them in the courts (presumably because they knew frivolous cases would be detrimental to them), which is why Trump resorted to using Giuliani who hadn't been in front of the courts for decades.

The intent of these cases was not to win in the courts but was to incite an insurrection. The intent of the Arizona audit is not to overturn the election but is to incite a future insurrection.

What a tragedy! He was the brave mayor of New York on "9/11" and sunk into being trump's apologist. His suspension is well-deserved.
he was never a brave anything. he was always an opportunistic snake. doing the bare minimum or being in the right place doesn't make you a hero.

Rudy Giuliani suspended from practicing law in New York over false statements about Trump election loss

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/24/rud...8rnPhkxnydldpHb8-ZnaFzEAhOC-c-PNuk8taxDdc9PcU

A New York court on Thursday suspended Rudy Giuliani from practicing law in New York state due to making “false and misleading statements” about the election loss of former President Donald Trump, his client.

The suspension, which takes effect immediately, is a stunning blow to Giuliani, the former New York City mayor who previously served as a top Justice Department official and as the U.S. Attorney in Manhattan.

It also comes as Giuliani is under criminal investigation by that same federal prosecutor’s office in Manhattan in connection with his work in Ukraine.

As Jay Leno said, if your lawyer needs a lawyer, you need a lawyer!
Practicing law? Is that what it's called? I thought he was trying out for a Borat movie ....

I've gotta say. I was really quite disappointed in the Borat promotional piece where they made out that Rudy was fondling himself, and their subsequent interviews on that.

Makes me wonder what else they have been doing to mislead people with regards to their show.

Great. Now perhaps he can go to court and actually present the evidence to prove he wasn't giving false statements.

Bill Clinton lost his law license and nobody made a big deal about it. Rich people don't need law licenses if they have partners who have them they can do all the legal stuff for them not a huge deal IMO.

Fortunately Bill Clinton had a presidency to fall back on... it's always nice to have a second job.

Giuliani isn't so fortunate.

He doesn't need a job with the Clintons slush fund having millions in it as he can pay himself to do nothing now.

Although the point here is more that Guiliani is losing his licence due to propagating lies in terms of "The Big Lie" that most Republican supporters seem to believe at the moment.

Well, if that is so, it'll take a sharp lawyer to (finally) bring the Clintons to justice.

Alas, Rudy disqualified himself.

Not really much of a point.... when the Dems have 5 aces up their sleeves the only way to win in NY is to not play the game at all.
