To 'know' the truth, is to accept the truth, and the truth will set you free from all your fears about it.
It is fear which makes one fail to recognize the truth. It is fear which makes one fail to heed it.
To 'know' the truth requires unconditional faith and love of God.
When one is unconditional, there is no room for fear.

In Psalms 119:142, the Mosaic Law is truth, and in John 8:31-36, it is the truth that sets us free while it is sin in transgression of it that puts us in bondage.

The truth in the NT came in the form of the one who lived in sinless obedience to the truth of the OT.
