But do you not think there must be something amiss is someone is convinced they are part of the chosen while most people aren't? I find the character of Jesus who favoured prostitutes, innkeepers and tax collectors over the Temple keepers very absent from this picture.

God died on the Cross for everyone.
But not everyone will believe.
So, those who went to hell today, yesterday, and tomorrow, didn't believe in Jesus.
They committed the unpardonable sin, which it to die as a Christ Rejector.

God saves us through Christ, so, if you reject Christ, God can't save you, and that is the "unpardonable sin", that the unsaved hebrews were committing in Hebrews 10, and Acts 28.

That's true-but they're not part of the 20+ rites of the CC. The EO Church is, however, officially recognized by the Roman Catholic Church to be fully true church due to its teachings and historical lineage traceable to the beginnings of the faith, and regardless of what they may think of the RCC at this point.

I thought it was referring to the EO churches. That's because I made the mistake of rushing and grabbing a blurb instead of scanning the whole article. That's what happens when you cut corners.

For myself we'd say, "if my salvation was up to me alone, I would lose it". Again, it's perfectly ok for us to have obligation, according to God's wisdom, the first of which is faith. I'll check out the video when I get a chance. Thank you.

Steve has oodles to say about our obligation and our obedience and having integrity.

Another thing for the record, I'm not an enemy of the Catholic Church. I've been in them and attended mass before over the years. And visited priests to ask stuff at the church / high school down the street when I was a kid.

Yes, I think when Jesus talked about the narrow path and the narrow gate, he meant that He was the narrow path too few take and the narrow gate that too few enter through.

John 3:16 says nothing about "God on the Cross" or dying for the sin of the world.

The verse says that God gave His son.
The gospel is the preaching of the CROSS.
So, add those up and find the answer.

We can conceive of ourselves as believers, as being in Christ, born again, new creations,.

Being born again is not a mental conception, flansen.
Its a BIRTH.... A Spiritual Birth.
If you die without this, God will not accept you.
Thousands who went to hell today, all water baptized all good church members, didn't see it coming, and now they can't change it.

Jesus Said, .."' YOU MUST be BORN AGAIN".

That is not about being good, or getting immersed, or trying to keep the law and commandments.

The Cross is not a mental conception.
God really died on it for the sin of the world.
That's the reality.

Salvation is not related to law or commandments.
Salvation is Jesus Himself. John 14:6

"He that loveth Me not keepeth not My words"

Are you absolutely sure that you want to be judged by Kingdom Law?

Matthew 13:11 He answered and said unto [the Disciples], "Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it is not given."

Context is everything. The meaning of the way is in the passage itself, and these are the precise steps of the way. The beginning and the end are full circle, and every step leads to the beginning.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father's house are many mansions: if not, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, he will keep My words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him. 24 He that loveth Me not keepeth not My words: and the word which ye hear is not Mine, but the Father's which sent Me.

So the “brethren who have the confidence to enter the Holy Place by the blood of Jesus” were not saved?

Galatians 2:7-9... Why do you want to be judged by Kingdom Law?
.

Read a bible, put the greek in the closet.
Start with Paul's epistles, Ephesians, Colossians, Galatians, then go to Romans, then 1-2 Tim then Titus.
Before you to that, go to Romans 3:21-28, and Hebrews 13:9.
And.... until you are grounded in Grace, you will continue to be led by the next one that makes you think they have something new for you to try to believe as your next theology.

How many have you had now?
At least 2.

Kinda get why you want to think so, since the Greek destroys your pretensions regarding the Kingdom Gospel.

The Greek isn't my Bible.
And neither is it yours, as you can't read or speak Greek.
So, the translator, is your Theology, as he told you what the Greek says., according to his personal interpretation.
You have no idea if he's a mormon, a catholic, a JW, or an Atheist, and because you can't actually read the Koine Greek Language, you have no idea if what they are teaching is Pauline Theology, or even close.

Here is what is true.
Paul.
Paul's epistles.
Study those.
Stay there.

Sorry, that is the gospel.
In my Bible, the Gospel is "Repent and believe the good news." (Mark 1:15; John 6:29; Acts 17:30; 2 Thessalonians 1:8;
2 Corinthians 5:20; 1 John 3:23; Revelation 14:6-7).
I don't know about how well Orthodox Jews love-I only know that love-done His way, agape- is the work and goal of God in man's life. Without it faith amounts to nothing-it hasn't achieved its purpose-and then we are nothing. 1 Cor 13:2
And without faith, it's very basis, it's all sounding brass and tickling cymbal.

I don't have a clue.

You have transcended by "area of expertise."

It gets worse. Next comes...

Yes, I think when Jesus talked about the narrow path and the narrow gate, he meant that He was the narrow path too few take and the narrow gate that too few enter through.

Excellent.
This is revelation you have.

See, JESUS is THE Way....that is the ONE and the ONLY.
That is the "narrow"..
John 14:6

The "broad way", is all other methods , all other religions, all other OPINIONS< on how to get to heaven.
See those?
There are so many, and that is why they are called the "broad"...way.

There is ONE WAY to God.
Its the Blood of GOD, as shed by Jesus.
That is a NARROW way, as its the only way.

I don’t recommend anyone to do this. Read the entire book or epistle don’t skip around collecting specific verses because you’ll never get the full message that way.

24 He that loveth Me not keepeth not My words: and the word which ye hear is not Mine, but the Father's which sent Me.

Im passed from death to Life.
Im translated from Darkness TO Light.
Jesus is THE Light of the World, and im a Child of THE Light.

Im this....>"as Jesus IS, so are the born again in this world".

There is no judgement, regarding SIN, waiting for the born again, after they die.
Why?
Its because JESUS on the CROSS on EARTH, 2000 yrs ago, has already been JUDGED for the sin of the world.
And each person who is born again, based on FAITH IN CHRIST, has "passed from DEATH to Life".
They have passed from judgement to eternal life, already.

That's all the born again.

Are you?

Paul is the "apostle TO the Gentiles", in the "time of the Gentiles".
Read Acts 28, the last 10 verses.
Note that Paul is again talking to unsaved Hebrews, same as in Hebrews 10, and this time he tells them that He's going to the "gentiles".

Where do you find the phrase "time of the Gentiles"?
In Luke 21:24... which matches Revelation 11:2.

Is there any history of non-Gentile rule in Jerusalem after Luke was written?
Yes, there certainly is.

BTW, Paul didn't write the letter to the Hebrews, Barnabus did.
And Paul isn't talking to the house of Israel, he's talking to the Jews in Acts 28:29.
Nice try... not.
Paul, if he broke his own doctrinal statement in Galatians 2:7-9, well that's on him... but it doesn't nulify what he recorded of the conversation with James, Peter and John.

Revelation indeed. It literally had just come to me. Like a lightbulb being turned on.

Your Bible has been translated from the Greek by a translator as well. So it’s not as if you have any room to talk here. By studying the Greek ourselves we can make our own assessment as to the interpretation that is intended instead of having the translator’s interpretation injected into our Bible.

He said to start out with those two verses as a starting point and then read the entire epistles.
