Heckler Shouts "Traitor" at Mike Pence at Ralph Reed's Faith and Freedom Coalition event

Former Vice President Mike Pence was heckled Friday with calls of “traitor” as he delivered remarks at a conservative policy conference in Kissimmee, Florida.

At first, Pence was greeted by cheers when he appeared on stage at the Faith and Freedom Coalition event, which was billed as charting a policy course toward a conservative majority. But as he began speaking, he was briefly interrupted by a woman who shouted “traitor” several times before she was escorted out. Pence ignored the outburst and continued with his speech.

The former vice president delivered his usual stump speech Friday, outlining what he said are the promises he and Trump fulfilled over the last four years and attacking the job President Joe Biden has done so far.

Earlier, in a corridor outside the ballroom, an attendee named Rick Hurley, wearing a red “Make America great again” cap, also vented his frustration over Pence’s role in certifying Donald Trump’s defeat on 6 January amid false claims of voter fraud.

“We need to start fighting!” Hurley shouted at anyone who would listen. “We need to stop being so [darned] nice. What the [heck's] going on? Why is Pence coming today? Donald Trump has his pen in his back still.”

In an interview, Hurley said he had been at the US Capitol on 6 January. “I want to know why Pence is here today.” he said. “He stabbed Donald Trump in the back and took the coins like Judas.”

Of course, but a lone protester shouting a single word...and then being escorted out...is the invitation for some readers of such a report to generalize to all sorts of ridiculous conclusions about society, politics, and whatever. :sigh:

...which has next to nothing to do with a single protestor shouting a word at the former Vice-President during a large public meeting and then being escorted out of the place (much ado about nothing, IOW).

We need to ignore What's his name Pence as he is no longer relevant to the bigger picture. His only claim to fame now is standing up to Trump to save face and it didn't save face but gave him a second one. He will never be President and Trumps followers won't pick him over Trump...... ever.

Exactly. Loyalty to Trump is about all the GOP stands for anymore.

For Albion's benefit, that's the real subtext of this thread. The Republican Party is fracturing into two wings. A Trump wing that I would never vote for, and a non-Trump wing that I would never vote for.

And it's clearer and clearer that a lot of the Trump wing will absolutely not vote for a non-Trump candidate. Even Trump's own VP is not Trump-y enough for them.

It remains to be seen to what extent the non-Trump wing will or won't vote for Trump-y candidates.

Looking forward to the primaries. There will be a lot of head to head battles, like in Alaska, where Trump has endorsed Murkowski's challenger, Kelly Tshibaka.

The reason Trump did win is because of the state the GOP was in at the time. They still have way too many of their "Leaders" just "making it" by being energized by the attachment of IV drips supplied by special interest and other lobbying groups. We need new people that don't need to have pacemakers powered by the leaders of the party but by the voters.
We need more heroes like Trump and less cowards like Pence.

I'm pretty far to the right, but what about Trump is heroic?

Pence is a coward (and traitor) because he chose upholding the Constitution over Trump. That's the state the GOP is in right now. A state of disarray and heavy delusion.
