We Lost Our 12 Year Old German Shepherd This Week....

I just now saw this thread. Sorry to hear about your dog.

I had to put my 16 year old chihuahua to sleep on May 20th, due to old age and multiple issues. He could barely walk and had stopped eating and had a large tumor the size of a golf ball on the side of his head, under his ear. He was in bad shape, but he never complained once.

I do hope we get to see them again. My boy deserves a life in heaven.

I am glad you can go with Tessa now. I bet she loved it and it helps both her and you a bit on Elke.

I am sorry about your dog too.
I put 2 of the sweetest kitties to sleep on May 26 and 27 (they were 18 and 17) and I fully believe that God would not have the souls of an animal (who could bring SO much joy to people and we to them) who loved unconditionally and helped us in so many way, just end. If they could make such a difference in our lives and leave such a mark on our soul, they will be with us again (or should I say we with them). As my signature line says:

Elke was a gorgeous dog, and it looks like she had a sweet spirit to match. I'm very sorry for your loss. Losing our beloved pets is one of the hardest things we go through in life. They don't deserve the suffering they have to endure at the end. I believe we will see them again one day.

I am a dog lover too. So sorry for your loss, loosing a pet can be as bad as loosing a family member. The dogs in the photos look sweet, friendly and adorable. When I was a little girl I had a lovable, cute sweet cocker spaniel that was a beloved family dog. My sister had a cute little blue parakeet, and he was like the 'family bird' Lucas our dog learned to be nice and gentle with the parakeet. My sister named her blue parakeet Blueberry, I had a photo of Blueberry perched on Lucas' head. I drew a pastel picture from the photo, we have it hanging in the hall way of the house.

German Shepherds are good dogs, the police use them, they use them at air ports to sniff for drugs. I've heard some police officers have the shepherds as law enforcement partners and then take them home with them at night and the dogs are friendly and gentle with their wives and children, German shepherds play with their children.

I have a movie called "At Jesus Side," it's about this stray dog and his animal family who meet Jesus, Jesus loves and comforts the dog, who has a lot of emotional pain. The animals get together trying to stop Jesus from being crucified, Jesus has to explain to the animals his mission to die on the cross to save both humans and animals from their sins. It's a good animated movie for animals lovers of all ages.

I am so sorry for your loss. Animals are such good friends. I still miss the pets I've lost too.
