It’s written to the Jewish community, some of who are saved, and some who are not.
Deny, Deny, Deny,

Hebrews 6:4-8
For it is impossible for those who WERE ONCE ENLIGHTENED AND HAVE TASTED OF THE HEAVENLY GIFT, and WERE MADE PARTAKERS OF THE HOLY GHOST.

Only the saved are partakers of the Holy Ghost. Period.

V6
IF they shall FALL AWAY, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame.

This can only be christians because no non- christian has ever partook of the Holy Spirit and one cannot fall away from God If they have never been with God.

First verse of chapter six, also proves these Jews were already following after Christ's law,

Hebrews 6:1
Therefore leaving the principles of the DOCTRINE OF CHRIST, LET US GO ON TO PERFECTION;....

They were not followers after the Mosaical law any longer. Therefore if they fall away they are falling away from Christ.

Still written to the Jewish community, regardless of how bold you make the type.

Wrong ,Jesus came to make us all one in Christ,

Ephesians 2:15-18
Having abolished in His flesh the enmity the law of commandments contained in ordinances(law of Moses); for to make in Himself of Twain ONE NEW MAN, so making peace;

And that He might reconcile BOTH unto God IN ONE BODY by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

And came and preached peace to you which were afar off(gentiles) and to them that are nigh(jews)

For through Him we BOTH have access by ONE Spirit unto the Father.

That doesn’t affect that Hebrews was written to the Jewish community, some who were saved and some who weren’t.

You believe where your desires take you.

I'll believe the writer of Hebrews when he clearly shows these were christians, that were being warned of possible apostasy.

I thought it was Calvin’s theology that once a person receives the Holy Spirit they are forever sealed with Him? The author is referring to people who have “partaken of the Holy Spirit”. Is this “evanescent Holy Spirit” now?

He just told them to remain in Him because if they don’t they cannot bear fruit on their own.
Yep. They can’t do it on their own. And He doesn’t say anything about if they stop abiding in Him.

Can you find anywhere else in scripture where those terms refer to salvation?

The book of Hebrews is written to converted jews.
Good work on your lengthy post and you put effort into it, unlike the curt responses of rarely more than 2 sentences.

I posted that the section of 2 Peter 2:1 where it states that God paid for the sins of even false prophets (no avail to them anyways per the same verse) and takes away any doubts that Christ's propitiation (per the NKGV translation of 1 John 2:2) was indeed made for all. He responded that only dealt with "Common Grace" in Post 180 - "Common Grace" is a made up 19th century Reformist term that basically says that God hates some enough to bless then with a good life here - but the same are predestined to Hell before birth. Reformists won't generally state that in the open. Google "Common Grace" and you will see for yourself. I thought we all come to debate based upon scripture - I was wrong as there is a hidden agenda.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.

Good work on your lengthy post and you put effort into it, unlike the curt san scriptura response (rarely more than 2 sentences). We all know some see the Bible from the filter of John Calvin's writings and dismisses any scriptural argument that contradicts that theology - otherwise you would be treated respectfully with more than one liners .

For example, I posted that the section of 2 Peter 2:1 where it states that God paid for the sins of even false prophets (no avail to them anyways per the same verse) and takes away any doubts that Christ's propitiation (per the NKGV translation of 1 John 2:2) was indeed made for all. Still doesn’t change that Hebrews was written to Jews, both saved and unsaved.

Still doesn't change the far bigger issue that Christ died for all humanity per scriptures 1 John 2:2 and 2 Peter 2:1.

Okay, in what way? Did He take the punishment for sin for all humanity?

Im sorry I thought I brought verse 6 to your attention but apparently you think the word “anyone” somehow excludes the very men Jesus is talking to. Doesn’t it bother you that you can’t accept what Jesus actually said because it contradicts your theology? What I mean is doesn’t it bother you when you come across verses like these that don’t line up with your theology and you have to resort to taking a very obscure approach at interpreting them in order to reconcile them with your beliefs? Look at how many different angles you tried to approach this one simple passage but none of your attempts to interpret John 15 successfully line up with what Jesus actually said. I know it sure did bother me when I used to do it.

Check out the wording of 1 Timothy 4:10 where he makes a distinction between all men and believers - and Jesus is is the Savior of all men. Hebrews 4 tells us why some do not benefit from Christ's atonement.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

1 Timothy 4:10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.

Hebrews 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
