Jesus corrects the theology of the Sadducees
Mark 12:
24
Jesus answered and said to them, Are you not therefore mistaken, because
you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God?

25 For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage,
but are like angels in heaven.

26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses,
how in the bush God spoke unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God
of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

The Sadducees had no testimony of having heard the Voice of the Father,
nor of having seen His form.

John 5:37 And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither
heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.

Moses heard The Voice at the burning bush
Exodus 3:
3
Then Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush
does not burn.
4 So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the
midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here I am.
5 Then He said, Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet,
for the place where you stand is holy ground.
6 Moreover He said, I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God
of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid
to look upon God.

Moses and company heard the Voice and saw the form of God.
Exodus 24:
9
Then Moses went up, also Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy
of the elders of Israel,
10 and they saw the God of Israel. And there was under His feet as it
were a paved work of sapphire stone, and it was like the very heavens in its clarity.
11 But on the nobles of the children of Israel He did not lay His hand. So they saw
God, and they ate and drank.

Without having heard the Voice or seen the form, the Word does not abide.
John 5:37 And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither
heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.

John 5:38 But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent,
Him you do not believe.

[Mark 12:24 Jesus answered and said to them, Are you not therefore mistaken, because
you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God?]
John 5:39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life;
and these are they which testify of Me.

Which scriptures, you may ask?
Luke 24:44 Then He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.

Part Two
The Testimony We Have Heard

All inspired scripture is the testimony of the Father, given on behalf of His Son,
by The Voice of His Holy Spirit.

John 8:
54
Jesus answered, If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who
honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God.

55 Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, I do not know Him,
I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word.

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.
57 Then the Jews said to Him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.

The teachers of the Law broke the scriptures down in such a way that they
could not see that they all spoke of One Person, The Son, who is Christ.
Isaiah 28:
10
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line;
here a little, and there a little:
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest;
and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept;
line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and
fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Many times I have heard Isaiah 28:10 quoted as if he is saying that the scriptures
are supposed to be broken down line upon line, precept upon precept. Apparently,
they failed to continue reading down to verse 13, which informs them that because
of this, they fall, are broken, snared and taken.

One God, One Voice, One Savior
Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is,
Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord.

Paul confirms that the One who mediates reconciliation between God and man
is His Son, and speaks to us by the Holy Spirit

Galatians 3:20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

Christ has ascended to the right hand of the Father, and sends the Holy Spirit
to all those who belong to Him.

John 16:
12
I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth;
for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak;
and He will tell you things to come.

14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine
and declare it to you.

For those who belong to Christ, the Lord is The Spirit
1 Corinthians 3:
14
But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains in
the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.
15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.
16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with unveiled faces, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by
the Spirit of the Lord.

Part Three
This is the doctrine of Christ:
2 John 1:9
Whoever goes forward and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ
does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

So here is the sum. Whenever a man spoke by the Spirit, he gave testimony of the Son.
Whose testimony was being given? The Father’s!
Peter states this with perfect clarity for those who have the veil removed from their heart.

2 Peter 1:
16
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you
the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
17 For He received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such
The Voice to him from the excellent glory,
This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased
.
18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were
with him in the holy mount.
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; thereunto you do well
that ye take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn,
and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God
who spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 1:
10
Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully,
who prophesied of the grace that would come to you,
11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them
was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the
glories that would follow.
12 To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering
the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached
the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels
desire to look into.
