Thomas Paine (one of America's Founders) argued against kings and for republic. They are different.

Only Israel made the mistake as they were ruled by the one and true King, Yahweh.
The KING is now in His Spiritual Kingdom not made by the will of man but by His will connected through His Holy Spirit . Blessings.

I do find the modern Christian insistence on Secular Republicanism rather silly. As if that were the only type of government which were legitimate in the eyes of God. Even the Pagan Roman Government was legitimate in the eyes of God when maintained order.
