There's someone in a local singles group on FB who has all but admitted it. I wish she'd find someone else. I'm really not at a point where dating is an option for me.
Come on, take a chance! You never know what could happen!

She probably IS talking to other guys. It's just that she sees something in you that she hasn't seen in the others.

This is usually a good sign. It means that some conscious thought has actually gone into this, and she MIGHT know you better than you might think. Including the need to move gradually.

Assuming I'm right of course. If I am, then these are the sorts of girls that you can just meet up with in a tracksuit at a bus stop and still have a good date.

The girl at my parent's church appears to be dead-end.

Right now I don't know any single girls, so I will say I now don't have a crush.

You were putting way too much pressure on yourself about that.

She's still single that I know of, & from what little I know of her, I do think she's exactly what I'm looking for.

I think I'm just done going to my parent's church. They failed me. I'm tempted to look for jobs out-of-state.

No, it would never work. She's older and has kids. I could never handle that. It's really a case of "it's not her, it's me..."

There is someone I met through some zoom stuff. I feel weird about it though she is around 7 years older than me.

Its rare I meet someone I feel on the same wavelength though. Its not a big crush and I mainly hope we can continue to become friends. With the distance I don't think anything more would happen.

I literally can't imagine who. It's only been you, me and DragonFox posting lately.
right? My only guesses would be Somber or maybe Squeakers. Not that either of them are active.

Squeakers? I think she may have even been before me.

Honestly, it's a shame that Singles has run its course. It was never intended to be a dating forum, BUT for a while there was a decent mix of British girls posting here who were actually quite local to me (literally just outside of London).

Obviously it doesn't HAVE to be serious romance. It'd actually be quite nice now in 2021 (with me being that bit older) to just to have one or two of them floating around for the occasional river walk/art gallery tour/craft beer crawl/evening out.

I feel much more easy going nowadays. When the options were available five or six years ago I was quite uptight about "the timing" or "is this right?" - now I'm just like, "chill, you're just being civilised; it's fun."

I think Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and similar, have totally replaced forums for many people, although forums do still seem to be popular for specific interests. Basically, all the people who were on forums more for the social side rather than the debate, have left, and not come back. I haven't logged into Facebook for years. To my mind it's an abomination, and I won't return without major reforms. And I resent that so many organisations ditched their conventional web presence, and now only exist on Facebook.

I still have a minor crush, but I haven't seen her for a long time.

I can see very soon that what happened to forums will NOW happen to the big social media apps, as they all make way for the next platform. Instagram has already had its heyday and Facebook went south nearly a decade ago.

Maybe the next 'big thing' is actually living life itself, and rather than 'pretending' people are actually legitimately doing.

Video killed the radio, DVD killed the video, Netflix killed the DVD, now MAYBE with COVID rapping up, theatre and the west end will reign supreme once again.

I don't have a crush on anyone, but I suspect there are two ladies with something like a crush towards me. The body language and mannerisms have altered to something 'more friendly' than our normal polite exchanges.

$100 says neither one of them has the guts to say anything. I'm not going to. I'm going to play dumb.

Not a crush. Just a growing awareness of his affect and my inability to recognize what I felt in its entirety. To say I like him is an understatement. Need is more accurate.

Not from a place of lack. He stirs my soul and I’m at rest in his presence. Its taken a while to realize that’s what I’ve wanted most. Getting quiet allowed me to see it.
