Currently I enjoy the Scofield Study Bible 3 in the NKJV.

I have only found a few questionable "scholarly" comments at the bottom of the page, but otherwise I enjoy it. It has a nice readable format and the notes are not too intrusive to distract from that. It's made by Oxford and smyth sewn, so it will have a lot of durability. It's a little bit of money if you want a leather version, but you can find them on sell at times.

I am on my second NRSV with Apocryphal/Deuterocanonical Books, by Oxford University Press. It's pretty stripped down (has footnotes for textual and extant source variants), has a hardcover, and is very affordable. I had my first copy so long the spine was held together by duct tape, lol.

Bibles are super expensive, which kind of sticks in my craw. So, happily, I have one I like, fits my needs, is durable, and doesn't cost a devil dollar to buy.

I use the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) for a number of reasons.
It is the version that is most commonly preferred by scholars as it is founded on some of the oldest and most reliable manuscripts available. It's aim is to be as "literal as possible, but also as free as necessary".
The NRSV has an ecumenical appeal. It is one of the main authorised translations used in many Christian denominations.

I read the NET Bible, v. 2.1 (NET is a play on words. It stands for the New English Translation, but it's also available on the internet for free.)

The translation is excellent. Additionally, there are more than 60,000(!) translators' notes that explain virtually everything one might ask (particularly if you're not a trained academic specialist).

I also read the NIV and the NRSV, primarily for comparison.

I was brought up with the King James version but hubby likes the NIV.

It's so nice there are so many different versions available for everyone!

I use multiple translations. My go tos at this point are NKJV and AMPC, but when in doubt I may check as many translations as I can access.

Not a fan of Scofield.

Also not a fan of MacArthur or anyone or anything associated with him, even distantly.

I primarily use the NRSV, though I may be the only person in my independent charismatic church who does so. I'm also a fan of the 2011 NIV.

Our pastor uses a mix of NKJV, NIV, and NLT when he is preaching and teaching. NKJV is pretty good. I'm not a fan of the NLT at all.

I like The James Moffatt Translation with Concordance, I use other translations too. This bible shifts around verses and paragraphs to try to keep the flow reading smoother, so it is a bit tricky. But all verses are kept labeled to the original verse and chapter. Love the English in it though.

I use the ones I find easiest to understand.

I like
The Message, GNT, NLT.
I used to read the NIV as well.
KJ Has some beautiful ways of wording things.
Started on the NIV-found that Jesus was more than mere man.
Switched to NKJV, found Jesus = God.

Started with GNT - Loved God.
Switch to KJ - Had no idea what God was saying but like the way He said it.
