Her name was Elke...she was a very special dog...Another reason I so look forward to Jesus coming and taking us to Heaven....I believe He will give us back our beloved pets when we get there

She's a good dog, but very different than Elke.
I used to raise dogs for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, raised 14 puppies from 4th grade until I was a senior in HS. The night I would give one up, they gave me another one, so I completely understand what you mean
She seems more quiet and seems to sleep more than she did...but she's so attached to me that I really don't think it has affected her much. She's a super touchy dog....when she was little she was always cuddling up to Elke, and even when she got older, she would still try to sleep on top of her

Thank you, and she wasSorry to hear about your loss. Losing a pet is like losing a member of the family... Just try to keep in mind that you were able to give her a good life and a loving home. She looks like she was a very happy doggo.

I've had many dogs and this is only the 2nd time I had to do this....almost makes me not want to get another dog, it's so hard.
I am so sorry. I know your pain. I had to let 2 cats go May 26th and May 27th. I had them for almost 17 and 18 years and the depression and sorrow was just chest crushing. I am still quite sad and tear up when I talk about them. Elke looks like a happy and loving dog! And I do agree that we will see our beloved pets again. ANYTHING that can be so loving, be so friendly and cause us so much joy has to be a part of us in the after life. I do not agree. A person who loves their pets dearly will understand no matter the species.
Pay extra attention to Tessa! She will need your affection and company now. Animals, like people often can go down hill to an earlier death when a lifelong companion goes. I believe that ^Nova^ and ^Andromeda^ went soon because we lost ^Orion^ December 15th and they were all close. Now I am trying to pay more attention to Apollo (Andromeda's actual brother so he is 17 now) and Perseus (now 12), but I can see they are being affected. Apollo has been wondering at night yowling for Andromeda now and both are spending a lot more time in the bedroom on the bed sleeping all day (they did not do that before). So extra loven and care to Tessa for a while.Thank you, Clare
