Despite the Nuremberg Trials and the Allied process of De-Nazification after WW2 most of the Jews born in Germany have emigrated to Israel or the United States.

Due to the liberal regime in Germany after WW2 the Jews had every opportunity to become successful, yet the vast majority of Holocaust survivors had opted to leave their native soil in favour of Israel or the USA.

Many Jews in other parts of Nazi occupied Europe have also emigrated to Israel or the USA after WW2.

Why?

Was it due to their traumatised bitter memories and the psychological scars they had suffered at the hands of the Nazis and by Nazi collaborators?

I think it was mostly because of the fact that the germans after the war were mostly the same as the germans before the war. Antisemitism is still strong in germany, especially in east germany.

I can only answer for myself, but as a grandchild of Jews who came to the United States, I would not stay in a country that had stripped me of my citizenship, seized my wealth and property, systematically murderd all my relatives, and was completely and utterly destroyed. That and having to look at my neighbors or people on the street who just a few years before had either stood by and did nothing or actively helped the Reich in achieving their goals. I suppose some people could accept a forced apology of " Hey, these Allied troops have convinced us that we were wrong and we are sorry, you are now once again considered citizens and humans. Are we good?" but I am not one of them.

Europe had been a hotbed of anti-semitism for centuries before it culminated in the Holocaust. Why would any Jew choose to risk another outbreak ?

Many of them, by some estimates a majority, fled to other countries before the the war started. They had already set up homes elsewhere. That, and the ruined, war-torn land that was postwar Germany was not a terribly attractive place to live for Jew or Gentile, even the half that wasn’t locked behind the Iron Curtain.

Could be... I know if it were me, I'd want to put a few thousand miles (and preferably an ocean) between myself and the place where it happened.
