My life is miserable and a literal living hell. The reason why is because I have relentless enemies who constantly torment me. They assault me, they deprive me of sleep, they inject me with poison, they attack me, they ruin my life.

There is apparently nothing I can do to get rid of my enemies. They are on me always, and I can’t do anything about it.

God promised he would get rid of them if I don’t sin. Given that no one is perfect, it’s odd that God would tell me I have to be perfect for him to help me. Basically, I have to walk on eggshells my entire life and never make any mistakes, no matter how harmless. God gains absolutely nothing from this, and I in turn lose my freedom.

It’s difficult to quit sinning, since no one is perfect. But I’ve been able to forgo some of my main sins—but when I do this, God reneges on his word to get rid of my enemies and refuses to act.

I’ve asked God many times why he is doing this. Why did he say he would get rid of my enemies when I quit sinning, yet when I quit sinning he doesn’t get rid of them? He does not answer.

I’ve asked God many times to give me credit for the days where I have not sinned—which were many—and use that credit to permanently, not temporarily, get rid of my enemies so I can finally have a normal life. Yet God will not do it. He ignores me. I ask God why, but he continues to ignore me and refuses to respond.

Since God is refuses to answer my prayers, could everyone please pray to God and ask him to answer my prayers. I want God to tell me why he didn’t get rid of my enemies when I quit sinning. He said he would, but he didn’t and I want to know why. I also want God to tell me why he won’t give me credit for the days where I didn’t sin—which, again, were many—and get rid of my enemies permanently, but not temporarily, with the credit I’ve earned. He will not tell me, so please pray and ask him to tell me.

You are accusing the Lord of being dishonest and unfair. Why should anyone even bother to pray to a diety like that? My prayer for you is that you will learn who he really is. I pray you will be freed from deception and torment.

P.S. The Lord does not ask us to be free from sin before we get answers to prayer. If that were true virtually no one would ever get answered prayers. Yes he does want us to be free from sin. But he is the father of mercies.

I believe that the one you were hearing from is not the Lord, personally. I pray you will learn about the love of the father.

God has never made me so depressed, hurt, and upset in my entire life.

Earlier God told me he wouldn’t get rid of my enemies who are tormenting me, attacking me, and depriving me of sleep because I drank alcohol, saying that it constitutes a sin and he therefore will not help me because I sinned. Yet in the Bible Jesus turned water into wine and drank wine during the Last Supper, and since Christ never sinned that would mean the Bible suggests drinking alcohol is not a sin!

Many times I have asked God to explain this obvious contradiction in his conduct towards me. I ask God: If drinking alcohol is a sin, why does the Bible say Jesus turned water into wine and drank wine during the Last Supper?

God doesn’t answer, so I ask again. But again, no answer. I ask and ask and ask some more, but God won’t answer.

God has told me he thinks drinking alcohol is a sin because some people drink it irresponsibly and end up killing others in car accidents and other types of ways related to alcohol; therefore, God reasons that all alcohol drinking is a sin. In other words, because some people can’t drink responsibly, all the people who do drink responsibly cannot therefore be allowed to drink at all.

This logic is very unfair, especially towards all the people who drink responsibly. It reminds me of people with left-wing political views who want to ban guns. They say that because some people use guns irresponsibly and go on to kill people in school shootings and crime-related violence that no one should therefore be allowed own guns, including all the responsible Second Amendment supporters who only want firearms for self-defense and aren’t irresponsible gun owners.

So again I return to my original question with God and ask: If you believe drinking alcohol is a sin for whatever unfair reasons, why did Jesus turn water into wine and drink alcohol during the Last Supper? If drinking alcohol were such a “heinous” sin, then Jesus would have instead condemned drinking it, right? And each time I ask God disappoints me and doesn’t bother explaining this contradiction to me.

The entire reason why I’m drinking alcohol during the day is because I’m horribly depressed that God won’t do anything about my enemies who are attacking me, depriving me of sleep, and making my life a literal hell. He won’t get rid of them because I commit sins like drink alcohol, yet I’m drinking alcohol to drown out the pain over God’s refusal to do anything about my tormentors!

Here is a really good solution that would work incredibly well and get me to stop drinking alcohol during the day: God should give me credit for all the days I didn’t drink or commit any other sin—which have been many days—yet on those days God didn’t get rid of my tormentors. If I am given credit for all those days of excellent behavior, then God should therefore get rid of my tormentors at the soonest time possible irrespective of whether I’ve had a drink today. If he did that, I wouldn’t be so depressed over having monsters torment me, since they would be gone, and therefore not drink the following day, having no reason to do so.

Can everyone please pray and ask God to give me credit for all the times I haven’t sinned and permanently, not temporarily, get rid of my tormentors who are making my life a literal hell? I’ve asked him to do this before, and he decided to get rid of them only temporarily. That, however, did not resolve my problem, because the monsters returned within a few days, so all my problems resumed and I was back to square one.

I don't believe you are hearing from God.

1 John 4:1-4
King James Version

4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

God has made me feel so hurt an angry. Does he even care that he is hurting me?

God says he will permanently get rid of my tormentors when I don’t sin. Yet there have been so many days when I didn’t sin, but God didn’t get rid of them when I was flawless. Instead he unfairly moved the goalposts, found some trivial “flaw” in me that was so insignificant that it would offend no one, or otherwise didn’t tell me why he wouldn’t keep his word. I asked God to give me credit for all these days where I didn’t sin and use it to permanently get rid of my tormentors tonight. The result? God failed to grant my request, and the insulting, disgusting, and hurtful part is he didn’t even have the decency to tell me why!

I have never felt so hopeless in my entire life, and it’s all because God won’t keep his word and fails to communicate with me. Because God won’t respond to my prayers, I come to a Christian forum to request the prayers of others, thinking maybe God will listen to other Christians since he won’t listen to me. But nothing has changed! God still won’t permanently get rid of my tormentors, and my life is still a literal living hell.

It isn’t too much to ask God to give me credit for all the time I was flawless and didn’t sin and use it to get rid of my tormentors. Nor is it too much to ask God to explain why, if he chooses to reject my prayer request, he won’t give me the credit I’ve earned. Yet God does nothing, he says nothing, and he hurts me with his ignoring me!

I feel so hopeless that I want to buy materials to harm myself. If God still refuses to answer me, I feel like I have to cause significant physical harm to myself in order to elicit a reply from God. I don’t want things to come to this, so will others please pray for me and ask God to give me credit for all the time I didn’t sin and use it to get rid of my tormentors, and if he chooses to reject that request, for God to explain why? I’m so tired of God ignoring me and I wish he would just answer so that I don’t have to hurt myself!

God promised he would get rid of them if I don’t sin

I am sorry that you are distressed.

The truth is God does not make bargains with us. Your believe that God has promised you is false.
You need to talk to your doctor about your mental health and follow the advice, including taking the medication you are given.

I wanted to private message you, but apparently I'm too new for that.
So I'll publicly type here..

God will never give you "credit for all the time [you] didn't sin." You are a sinner and are spiritually dead to Him without faith in His Son.

I think you're missing the entire point of Christianity. Zero of us are perfect. Zero of us deserve His answers. Or His love. Or His ear.

He loves us, listens to us, and answers our prayers because He, in His perfection, sent His Son to die a blameless death to cover the cost of our eternal death.

He is God because He is God. Not because you've done good things or bad things in your life.
He doesn't work according to your schedule. He doesn't answer when you like. He answers in His perfect timing, in His perfect way. He might answer you by a job opportunity suddenly becoming available. He might answer you by a loved one re-entering into your life. He moves and speaks in His way. Not in yours.

My advice to you: slow down. Be still. Know that He is perfect. Know that He is infinitely powerful. Know that He is infinitely in control. Don't hurt yourself because you are too impatient to watch His perfection unfold in your life. Just wait. Be patient. Close your mouth, open your eyes and ears. Watch and see what He does in your life. Trust Him. Have faith.

I pray you will stop accusing the Lord of being a promise breaker who is deceitful
and “unfair”. I pray you will learn to distinguish His voice from the voice of “the stranger.”

I pray you will turn to the true Almighty and receive healing from the pain you are obviously in, and understanding and truth.

I will certainly pray for you. God does not cause pain or misery as you describe. And His focus is on eternity, not today or tomorrow or next week. I suffer greatly day and night due to chronic pain, and I realize its a result of living in a sinful world and I do not blame God. He gave us a perfect world, and we chose poorly to believe the lies of the devil when Adam and Even believed the serpent rather than God. Perhaps you need medical or social help to escape those who afflict you. Find a church and seek the help of a minster or elders in that church. Just don't blame God because He is there for us in our torment. When you think about eternity, whatever we suffer in this world pales to compare to the world to come, but I know full well what terrible pain is like - enough to raise my blood pressure to stroke level.

I feel so depressed and hopeless, and my motivation to do anything is practically zero. My enemies are still here, and they are making my life a literal living hell.

Romans 5:6 says that Christ died for the ungodly. Which is to say, Jesus came to save sinners; he didn’t come to save the righteous, the flawless, and the perfect. Therefore, it doesn’t make sense why God is telling me he won’t get rid of my enemies, who are causing me untold grief and despair, unless I’m perfect and don’t sin. What I am experiencing with God’s very strange conduct towards me is not consistent with what the Bible teaches about his nature. Let me be clear: I am saved and born again.

If God wants me to forgo my main sins, then fine: I’ll do it. But I can’t accomplish this unless God permanently gets rid of my enemies first.

What are my main sins? Even though the Bible says drinking alcohol is okay, as demonstrated by the fact that Jesus drank wine during the Last Supper and turned water into wine in another part of the Gospels, God says my main sin is drinking alcohol. Yet the whole reason why I drink alcohol is to drown out the pain and anguish I feel over the fact that God won’t get rid of my enemies! Therefore, if God would actually listen to me for once instead of ignore my cries for his mercy and help, he would permanently get rid of my enemies first, then I would stop drinking because, given that my enemies would be permanently gone, I would have no reason to drink in the first place! Does God even care to listen to my opinion?

My other main sin is that I have a nicotine addiction. But there isn’t really any reason why God would hold this against me because I am using the nicotine gum to taper off my addiction and slowly wean from the nicotine tolerance so that, once I finally go off it, the withdrawal process won’t cause as much head pain and will be much more tolerable than a cold turkey quit. Thus, I don’t see any reason God would hold this particular sin against me because I’m trying hard to do what I can to get off of it, slowly but surely.

Here is something that is really bothering me. On many other occasions, I have gone the whole day without my mains sins, nor did I commit any other sins. One time I went over a month without having a drink and managed to quit nicotine cold turkey, not drinking or smoking or even having a piece of nicotine gum once during this over month-long period. Yet God did not do anything about my enemies, letting them stay and torment me and make my life hell, because he moved the goalposts and didn’t sufficiently explain what he wanted me to do. His instructions were very unclear, and even though I cried out to him multiple times asking him why he wouldn’t help me, he refused to clarify what he wanted me to do! Thus, it seems reasonable and fair that I earned credit for all these days where I didn’t sin, indeed went for a long period without sinning, yet God didn’t keep his word to permanently get rid of my enemies. Therefore, I believe it is fair and just and reasonable to ask God to permanently get rid of my enemies tonight, since I’ve already earned so much credit for God to do something that would require minimal effort on his part and would result in me having a normal life again.

But why won’t God listen to me? My request is reasonable: all I want is for God to permanently get rid of my enemies with all the credit I’ve earned, but he hasn’t done it yet and refuses to even explain why!

Can everyone please pray for me and ask God to give me credit for all the many days where I fulfilled his requests by not sinning, and use that credit to permanently get rid of my enemies?

If God doesn’t permanently get rid of my enemies with the credit I’ve earned, I want to hear from him and have him explain why he is treating me so unfairly and unjustly, leaving me to suffer literal hell. I’ve been asking God to explain why he won’t help me this way, and the fact that he won’t respond and explain why hurts me so much. I feel so apathetic and hopeless, and it’s all because God won’t even communicate with me! I don’t want him to tell me it’s because I sinned and was imperfect. I know that! The whole point of giving me credit that I’ve earned to permanently get rid of my enemies is precisely so I can stop my main sins, since my enemies won’t be around to torment me and cause me to drink to numb the pain they cause, irrespective over the fact that I sinned today.

The God that you pray to, whom you have described in your posts, does not exist. He is not unfair. He is not dishonest. He does not make deals with you that he later breaks.

The one who does all those kinds of things is the devil.

I pray you will learn who the Father really is and pray to him earnestly for help in every way.

My enemies have been attacking me and assaulting me recently, and God didn’t do anything to put a stop to it. For this reason, it’s likely that God isn’t going to give me the credit I earned for him to do me a very simple favor and get rid of them tonight, which would be a very humane favor to ask for and require little effort on his part, but will instead make me suffer with them because I sinned and failed to be perfect. What I want to know is why? Please pray for me and ask God to tell me why he won’t give me credit for the favor I’ve earned with all the countless days where I lived up to his impossibly high standards, but instead reneged on his word to help me on those days because he unfairly moved the goalposts, found some trivial "flaw" in me, or otherwise didn’t bother telling me how I offended him with literally nothing.

Who are these enemies that are attacking you, and why are you in a position to not escape from them? I will pray but can you share a bit more about what is afflicting you and be as specific as possible without of course saying anything that compromises your privacy and safety. If we knew a bit more about what is going on, we might be able to offer more specific advice. For example, when you say God didn't do anything to stop it, are you expecting the Lord to perform some supernatural miracle to rescue you, or are you seeking the Lord's wisdom in places like Proverbs to obtain knowledge and faith in Him through Scripture to lead you forward?

Did you ever hear the story about the man floating in the ocean? A search plane circled overhead, and the guy on the life raft waved them off. Then a ship came close to the man and he refused to accept any sort of rescue. Finally a helicopter dropped a rope and still the man would not accept the rope, saying to himself that God will rescue me. Well eventually in this fictional tale, the ocean crashed him and he died. He gets to heaven and asks the Lord why didn't you save me, and the Lord replies, well I sent you a boat, a plane, and a helicopter!

I say this silly story not to make any fun but to point out that sometimes we expect some form of greater deliverance when God is there all along with ways out if we just choose to grab ahold of them.

I have a few questions. Are these physical enemies? And what do you prescribe to determine what an enemy is.
As an example. Sometimes what seems like an enemy is simply an enemy of Christ. Not you personally all the time. Also sometimes our past actions have created thought patterns that are destructive and even though we stop a particular action. Our motivations are still strong to do it despite our refraining from the physical act. This is double mindedness. James says the devil hasn’t deceived us here but ourselves for not understanding sin
Remember thinking of sinning is sin so what is the answer. Jesus. Because that’s how depraved a mind we were saved from.

If your confession is solely based on god removing your enemies. I’d worry about why and what and how you came to know Jesus. I’m not worried your not saved. I’m worried if Jesus did save you how you can find people around you to release what God has absolutely set for you. If that peace is there physically then we need to help the lord bring that to our minds. I hope this helps

You are so right when you say the “strange conduct” does not equate to what is seen in the Bible. Think about it. The Bible talks about the devil. Do you believe there is a devil? Rhetorical question.

He is the one who lies to people and tries to destroy their lives, and tricks them.

I pray you will never blame the Lord for what the devil has done. Since you have some familiarity with the Bible, I pray you will also search it to see what happened to people who complained against him and made accusations against him. To put it briefly, in the desert they never got to the promised land but had to keep circling around the mountains for 40 years.

The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please the Lord. You have to pray to the real Lord with faith, and pray that you won’t be deceived by the voice of what Messiah called “the stranger”. Yes the stranger certainly does speak to others and puts lying thoughts in their minds. Happens all the time.

The father of lies absolutely loves it when the harm that he does is blamed on the heavenly father. I pray for your discernment.

I wonder if you are reading the responses to your posts. So often I have seen people saying that the “guidance” you say you are getting is not from the Lord. I have seen no one agreeing with the idea that he is the one who is tormenting you and disappointing you.

Nevertheless, you still keep accusing him of being unfair and dishonest.

Again, I pray for your discernment, and for your enlightenment.

Demons really exist. I have known three Baptist men who would have not believed in them otherwise had they not personally run into such filth and disgusting things. I have never seen or heard one and count myself blessed for it. They are not common and really exceeding rare but I do not mess with things like Wiccans and Ouji boards or astral projection or haunted houses. 99.9999999% are fakes or jokes but knowing my luck I'd be the idiot that ran into the real thing and wind up like the Jews who treid to do the work of the Apostles and came out naked and bleeding when the demon tore them up. NO THANK YOU.
Due to our inherited evil nature every person born is in captivity and until they come into salvation you could consider them a form of enemy but unlike demons, humans have hope of saving faith so you should treat them as captives and not the enemy at all but those who are lost and need to find the Lord, so pray for them and lead them to the Lord. You cannot yourself save anyone, but we all plant seeds and we never will know in this life which seeds grew into active saving faith. I was once doing a local mission and got chased off the guys property with a gun trying to just deliver an invite to attend our Easter service so I know what you can run into at times, but I trusted the Lord to protect me and he did no matter how ugly it became at times. But that was only one of 300 invites we left that day so I am sure some did produce results.

Praying that you get peace of mind, in the middle of the battle.

The attacks that you are experiencing, often continue to happen until you get faith that God loves, cares, for you and has forgiven you. The devil does not give up easily, he is known as the "accuser of the brethren". He will continually bring accusations against you, even if you are innocent, he will hang on to any small sin. Don't believe your accusers, when you are in Christ, there is "no condemnation", you are not being judged harshly by God.

Ecc 7:16-18 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself? Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time? It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.

The verses in Ecc 7:16-18 actually tells us not to be fear-driven in serving God. That there is a middle road to be walked. We are allowed to enjoy what God has given us. We should not live in fear that everything is sin. It says we should not be overly righteous, meaning trying to be perfect. We are allowed a little weakness.
