It's a win-win situation because it's not about credibility, it's about flooding the landscape with particular rhetoric. Attacking Black people as a group is similar to attacking Jewish people, the racism/antisemitism is often evident; getting a person from that group to repeat your rhetoric gives you cover. This is exactly the game Owens has been playing for 5 years. But you're right, you would think her supporters would take this flippancy into account.

Most people do not think that if they take a position on something that they have to keep that position for the rest of their lives. BLM did not surface until recently so her comments about BLM are genuine.

That it is "another organization's flag" is not really what's relevant here. What's relevant is what that flag stands for, represents. And I mean REALLY stands for, not just the pithy, popular, platitudes it spews - BLM is a neo-marxist-leninist organization. They stand for TYRANNY, not freedom; HATRED, not peace. That this administration somehow sees fit to fly such a flag, at any of our embassies or any of our federal buildings anywhere is appalling - and something I am having a difficult time even fathoming.

Where that flag belongs waving is in the middle of our garbage dumps, not above our embassies.

I don't think any flag other than the American flag should be posted above an American embassy (and, in the same manner, I don't think any flag other than the Christian flag should be posted in a church).

It would have been just as bad for embassies to have been flying MAGA flags during the Trump administration. Plank issues particular to administrations should not show up on the walls of embassies.

But Candice Owens knows less about the matter than I do. Taking a critical look at the credentials of anyone propped up as "someone to listen to" on any topic is certainly advisable. I wouldn't listen to what Candace Owens has to say about the efficacy of a Covid-19 vaccine, either.

Like Kim Kardashian, she's essentially famous for nothing.

I think that’s a fair point. I hadn’t thought too much past it just being done as a commemorative gesture but you’re right, the only flags we should fly at any US embassy should be the American flag.

What about like, when a visiting Ambassador comes calling, embassies have a set of flagstaffs to fly more than one flag, as a sign of Respect.

But hey, the Wardroom got a good laugh from your post, the CO even commented about all the time the people are making tic tock videos. YouTube videos, posting on Facebook, and all other manner of fidgeting with their phones it's amazing that they do 60 hours a week. I guess it is no longer 1968 in Hue City. Who would have thought.

I dont have to make any assumptions about someone who thinks that they know what is going on in the entire military based on what is going on in their limited view.

What is there to "respect" about the BLM organization? It's blatantly racist, openly marxist, advocates violence, hatred towards police...
