hello all, i have a question concerning a family member who passed away 3 years ago. this person told many lies about famoily members, very serious lies, and after the truth came out, this family member never apologized. matter of fact, this member continued to believe in their own lies.
i wonder since they lied about many family members, were they really ever saved? my instinct is that she ended upo going to hell. is this wrong of me to think such a way??

We don't really know, etc...

There could have been factors in her life, that maybe started with very early childhood maybe, or maybe other factors maybe, etc, that we just don't know, etc, but God does, etc, and she, and each one, will be judged accordingly, etc...

Biological, psychological, physiological, hereditary, we just don't know, etc...

I do think that there are people who are just very, very much severely severely damaged from the get go, etc, and it doesn't have to be by something very, very bad all of time either, etc, at least not on the surface anyway, etc, that they just can't help but turn out to be really bad eggs, or very bad crappy people, etc...

God knows and will judge accordingly, etc...

Kind of "bites" at all the damage they do and have done though...

And not even repentant for it even at the end, etc...?

Well, only God knows, etc...?

I don't know that we can ever say "for sure" with anyone, etc...?

Not 100%, etc...

God Bless!

We shouldn't wish that on anyone neither should we judge them that way. Its up to God to make the decisions. Just leave it to Him.

yes that would be wrong because it put you in a position of judging her. None of us knows who God will save or how people change. Someone could be saved just moments prior to their death.

I think it's natural to wonder about whether a person was saved or not ... fact is ... we do not know (only God does) .... BTW ... hell is the grave .... everyone who dies earthly death goes there and is in a dormant sleep until Jesus returns and the 1st resurrection (of the saved) happens.

I wouldn't ponder it much myself .... one day we will know ;o)

We can not assume as only God knows the heart. I am guilty of this as well until I repented from such judgments. Blessings.

Probably. For one thing, you've said that she believed what she had said which you identify as lies. Salvation, as we know from the Bible, depends on much more than this.

But what is perhaps more important is that none of us really knows who went to heaven or to hell upon their deaths. That is God's to decide, and the best we can do is guess. I don't think it's morally wrong to guess about such things, but in the final analysis, we should keep in mind that it's presumptuous of us to think we do actually know.

There is a theme in the scriptures (not just one verse) that indicates the way you judge others, you'll get judged that way also.

If you judge someone is going to hell in you mind and/or heart, then it may be measured to you also.

My advice is to let the dead be dead, and let God assess the situation.
