God is playing an awful game. He allows my enemies to torment me, assault me, inject me with poison, and make my life an overall living hell. Please note that I am saying allow and not cause; there’s a big difference. Why would God allow all these horrible things to happen to me? Because I sin. If I do something “atrocious” that offends God, no matter how insignificant such as drink a beer or smoke a cigarette, God allows my enemies to harm me.

God promised that if I quit sinning he would get rid of my enemies, though. I find this quite a horrible ideal, since I have to literally walk on eggshells to avoid even the smallest of sins. But whatever: I’ll play God’s game so that God will get rid of my enemies.

But here is the problem. Whenever I manage to forgo all my sins and go an entire day without sinning, God doesn’t actually get rid of my enemies. He goes back on his word. Often he’ll make up some poor excuse that doesn’t make much common sense. Other times he will unfairly move the goalposts, making me very angry at his unfair conduct. Recently, though, he hasn’t even bothered to make any poor excuses or unfairly move the goalposts. Instead he just remains silent as I suffer because of his betrayal by not keeping his word.

Please everyone pray for me and ask God to keep his word and get rid of my enemies tonight, since I’ve done all God requires and not sinned even a tiny bit today. Please everyone pray for me and tell God to tell me if he decides to betray me again to explain why he did it, because I really need to know. I am suffering so greatly because God won’t get rid of my enemies; and once it comes time for him to keep his word, he lets me down each and every time. I don’t understand him!

How did God promise you He’d get rid of your enemies? Prayers for your situation and God brings you some peace and clarity.

Do you ever read the bible? Do you know what it says about Jesus? If you want to know God, read His Word. Seems to me you've either made up an image of God in your own mind, or something else is speaking to you and calling itself God when it clearly isn't. If you don't want to read God's Word, that might be an actual indication that you don't really want to know God, but rather are more content with the image you already have of Him in your mind.

Read the Gospel of John, for a start. I pray it goes well with you.

Shalom.

The Lord never goes back on His word and He does not play games. He does not toy with his creation. Everything He allows is intentional. Even if it's uncomfortable for us for a season, He will use any suffering for a greater good and for His glory. He knows everything, from beginning to end. Nothing is hid from the Lord, including your current struggles.

The god you are describing does not sound like the God of the Bible. I agree with @SongOnTheWind, in that you should read the Word and draw nearer to Him. If you feel God is communicating these things to you, then I would caution you in testing the spirit. The scriptures makes this clear in 1 John 4:1 "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

"And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." 1 Corinthians 11:14

Not every spirit is of God, there are many spirits that will masquerade as many things - your dead relatives, or even God-himself in order to deceive you. I know this from first hand experience. Do not be deceived and use the Word as your sword.

If you are born again, then you should not be continuing a life in sin and God would not bargain with you to take away your enemies if you stop sinning on a particular day. Again, this does not sound consistent to the nature of God you find within the Word. If you sin and mess up here and there, God is slow to anger and full of mercy and He will forgive you if you ask Him for forgiveness. But you must also turn from your ways. You have to truly be repentant in your heart and turn from your sins. Otherwise you are only fooling yourself in believing you are a follower of Jesus.

Where you understand
That God was never

May God bless you and forgive you. May He give you the strength and will to overcome adversity and temptations. May God give you the wisdom to discern the reality of your current situation and your relationship to Him. May God show those who would do you wrong that they need to repent and may He forgive them.

*Careful relying on your own understanding about what God is and isn't doing in your life.
Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

*We are asked to pray for our enemies.
Matthew 5:44 (NKJV)
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

*We are told we are not without sin and He forgives us when we stumble yet strive to endure.
1 John 1:8-10 (NKJV)
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

*We are told that we will have hardships even as Christians.
John 16:33 (NKJV)
33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NKJV)
9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

*We are told God does not lie "break promises".
Numbers 23:19 (NKJV)
19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Hebrews 6:18 (NKJV)
18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.

We will all have enemies throughout our lives. Best to not dwell on them, but to live our lives as if God is watching out for us.
After all, it's why we worship God, and why we don't worship our enemies.
When they get to the point where they grieve our souls, then we turn them over to God for judgement between us and them.
However, we had better make sure that our hands are clean in the matter. Because the Father is a righteous Judge. He judges impartially.
If our foes are just, and we are in error, then judgement falls into our laps.

It is not wise to take an accusatory attitude toward the Lord. It seems highly unlikely that you will get your prayers answered with such an approach.

My prayer for you is that you will see the truth. For example, smoking is not a minor thing at all. It kills people. Secondhand smoke can cause children to have hidden ear infections that lead to lifelong learning disabilities. I know this because when I was in graduate school being led by an audiologist, we learned that truth.

I pray that you will learn who the Lord really is and that you will develop a humble spirit of obedience toward him. He loves humility. He hates pride.”Pride goes before a fall, and a haughty spirit before distraction.”

The Bible shows that grumbling against the Lord only leads to his wrath.

I want to tell you some of the things I have learned in my walk with God that I believe will greatly help you.

First demons can and will pretend speak to in all of the ways God will speak to you. They are extremely good at it and will just as Satan in the garden tell you enough truth to get you to trust their voice and just enough lies to ruin your life. This was a lesson I learned about 7 years into being a christian and it crushed me. When I realized that the voice that I thought was God was a actually a demon I felt utterly alone and hopeless because the connection that I thought I had with God seemed in my mind to shatter.

Since then I have learned that the reality of the matter is that God does speak to me and devils speak to me. And I have to have the discernment to tell which voice is Gods.

Before I get into how you tell the difference I need to say that you do not need to be overly concerned with "hearing from God" correctly and following that voices every command. God knows its hard for us to discern his voice and He will be merciful and gracious to us as we stumble along trying to follow Him. The main thing we need to do is know the scriptures. If we know the scriptures and do all we can to follow them we wont even necessarily need to be concerned with hearing Gods specific words to us. They will be more like "extra helps" along the way. And the more we grow in Christ the more we will hear from God and the more of those "extra helps" we will receive. But again they are not necessary.

For sake of keeping this as short as I can I will not get into specifics of how to discern Gods voice except for 3 things. First Gods voice is much quieter and more subtle most of the time. Second expect to hear 20 30 or 50 things from Satan for every 1 thing you hear from God. And last expect that the more time you spend in prayer the less of the devils voices you will hear. Ideally the goal should be to find freedom from the influence of darkness to the degree that we dont hear anything from devils again.

From what you wrote I am 99 percent sure that the vast majority of the things you think God is telling you is not actually from God. Drinking a beer isnt sin. Jesus drank alcohol. He literally called it "the Lords supper". He supernaturally made it in truck loads to pass out at weddings. Its not sin. Sometimes all we need to do to realize what voice is from God is read the bible a little.

Forcing people to walk on eggshells is not how God is. God is very relaxed about what we do as long as it doesn't cause wrong to people. But the thing is you need to read the bible to know what is and isnt pleasing to God so that you can do those things by faith. You cant rely on the church. You got to read the book yourself.

As far as your affliction..

I would say first relax. If you believe in Jesus then He has your back. He is protecting you and He is willing to help you. He may let trials come to test us but He has His hand on those trials like a hawk to make sure not one thing happens to us that is more than what He is willing to let happen.

Second start giving. If you havnt been tithing then go out immediately and give at least 10 percent (a lot more if you can) of the money you have away to the needy and to good churches and especially to those in need within the church. Also start giving your time to help others in whatever way you can. The reason this is necessary is because if we dont give we are not living according to the law of God and it brings condemnation on us. It opens us up to attacks from Satan. Read Isaiah 58 and Isaiah 1:10-20 if you want to see this spelled out clearly. If you have children or a wife that you have neglected by beating them or not taking care of them then you can forget about ever getting deliverance until you start doing all you can to make it right with them.

Lastly just start praying. Pray to Jesus 3 times a day morning noon and evening begging Him for deliverance from the afflictions upon you. Forget about the voices saying this and that to you just ask Jesus to take away the affliction. Pray out loud. Go out somewhere you can be alone so you can pray without distraction. Pray each time until you have peace that God is going to help you. He will do it. If you do these things you will probably start seeing freedom in a few days from when you start praying. Prayer walls like this can help you in when you are in life and death situations to give you a quick boost of spiritual help but they cant sustain you for day to day life. You need Jesus to do that for you. However if you feel the need for daily prayer support from others your best bet would probably be prayer lines. The "His radio" prayer line is what I would recommend since you can text them.

Hope it help friend. Stay strong. Wait upon the Lord. He will deliver.

Judging from the thread the brother posted a few days ago I believe the "enemies" he is referring to are the demons keeping him up at night.

Such being the case it is unlikely they are right now on a "christian forums". They would probably be using "demon forums" instead.

Have you considered that who you're talking to may not be God at all, but the devil..? Because God never goes back on his word, but the devil is the father of lies.

Be careful. The devil always portrays himself as God, and even does "nice" things, and favors to trick.

I know this is an older thread, but I want to add my comment anyway.

As you are suffering and not really seeing how God is working in your life, and as you continue to be angry, it's Ok. God sees you and loves you anyway. He is not angry with you; He is growing you. He will answer your prayer! If he has not already given you some relief, He will. God is not without understanding, and He knows that some situations are very difficult, and we won't always understand at first; we remain in darkness until He brings us to the light of Christ. So, He continues to love us through it. He is God and He won't punish you because you misunderstand your situation and get angry at Him. As you continue in your situation, the Holy Spirit is doing His work on you.

There are some good posts here! First, it's true, that our minds are influenced by Satan telling us lies. Read the bible, and if you can remember one verse, say that verse to yourself when you feel like it is getting too hard. Like, Yea thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou are with me, or another verse that you can remember.

Although it is hard, we have to learn that God does Hear us, but it is in His time for our good that He changes our circumstances. But, I think It's Ok to let God know that he has made promises, and you want His help based on those promises. Think about 2 Chronicles 20:7-9, when Moab and the Ammonites came against Jehoshaphat and he feared for himself and Judah. He reminded God of His promises to Israel saying, "Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham, thy friend for ever? And in verse nine, he was reminded God of what He said He would do about Israel, basically saying to God he made a promise, "If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in they presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou will hear and help." So if you read through the entire chapter 20 you will see that God honored His promise.

We can do the same thing. We recognize God is Almighty and deserves all honor and praise and that He is our Father in Heaven that we make our petitions to. Knowing He is a loving and forgiving Father, you can ask for forgiveness and ask God to remove your anger. He will! You can tell Him of your confusion and ask Him to clear your mind and show you His love. He will! Ask Him to guide you with the Holy Spirit. He will! See, to be confused and angry is just fine with God because when we bring those things before him, confess our confusion, our hurt, and ask for forgiveness in Christ, He forgives us. We then can ask to see much clearer, and to be strengthened in Christ. We ask these things as we also make our petition for help with our enemies; and difficult situations that's causing us pain.

God will help you, just know He will. He might be quiet for a season as the bible tells us, but He will do it. Just wait and you will see. So, turn to God and ask Him to help you see things in a better light in Christ.

You don't have to do a lot, just ask God to put love in your heart for everyone, and help you try to do what you cannot do. Don't feel guilty because He understands. He will help you!

God bless you with much Love!
