What do you think of Kevin Zadai? Is he a False Prophet?

Kevin Zadai has lots of company. Dozens of mostly Charismatic preachers and teachers predicted a Trump win this past November. And according to Deuteronomy 18 that makes them all false prophets and subject to (being stoned to) death.

Well of course these same men and women have officially, by statement, justified themselves, so all those death-dealing stones have been put back on the pile and vast sums of dollars continue to flow their way to fill their coffers.

"But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die " - Deuteronomy 18.

I saw a video of him making a prediction that Trump would win the election which didn't come true. It has caused me to have doubts about him. On the other hand he has put out a lot of interesting books and courses. What do you think of him?

Not much; I don’t like false prophets and regard it as an abusive religious practice. There are so many decent, conservative pro life churches that aren’t run by false prophets but are established, respected and trusted denominations: the LCMS, WELS and other traditional non-ELCA Lutherans, the Continuing Anglican movement and the ACNA, the SBC, the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference, which consists of traditional Congregationalist churches not wanting anything to do with the liberal UCC, and of course, the three jewels of the East: Eastern Orthodoxy, Oriental Orthodoxy and the Assyrian churches, whose worship and doctrine has not changed in any dramatic way since the first millennium, and the traditional Latin Rite and Eastern Catholic communities in the Roman Catholic Church (and some dioceses with conservative bishops), and presumably the new traditionalist Methodist denomination (as I have said elsewhere, since the traditionalists have a majority vote, I don’t see why at a minimum they don’t keep the United Methodist name and branding; I posted a thread about that and the answers were interesting but I remain unconvinced), or those traditional, conservative pro-life pro-sexual morality parishes that intend to join it.

A qualification can be made ... based upon whether the individuals who wrongly called the win for Trump ... merely predicted a Trump win ... or claimed to prophesy a Trump win ...

That makes perfect sense. But you'll find that most (if not all) of these folks won't (can't) deny that were prophesying.

And wouldn't be a hoot if somewhere down history's back alleys that it was later found out that their prophecies were correct?

That depends on how you interpret his prediction, doesn't it? I don't know what the man did say exactly, but this point is worth considering.

Perhaps he could be interpreted as predicting a 2024 win, which isn't entirely out of the question. I don't think the election was stolen contrary to what some people may claim.

But it is possible that he won and had it taken from him. A forecaster could well have been accurate about the issue itself although he did not foresee additional developments or, if he did, wasn't referring to them.

You're not claiming that the election was stolen, are you?

The issue and my reply were entirely about different possible meanings for Zadai's prediction; and that, in turn, was entirely based upon what you reported to us about it. As I said, I do not know the man.

Never heard of him. But based on your description, sounds like just another run-of-the-mill false prophet out there selling snake oil.

If someone tells you they're a prophet, or if someone tells you God has given them a prediction of the future, then the rule of thumb is to turn 180 degrees and run in the opposite direction. Run, don't walk, away from false teachers.

I agree that's a good rule of thumb since there doesn't seem to be many legitimate prophets today.

On the other hand, if anyone is curious how to recognize a bona fide prophecy, here's my advice to everyone. If a prophet speaks to me, it is incumbent upon the Holy Spirit to convict /convince me, that is, to raise my level of felt certainty to a degree where I feel morally obligated to immediately acquiesce. Although God can speak to me through anyone, I would expect that, with prophets in particular, the Holy Spirit will raise my level of certainty to the full 100% - absolute certainty.

Probably not a bad idea to suspend judgement until their prophecy either comes true or fails as well. Just sayin'-as a rule.

The more pertinent issue today, IMO, is there is no one alive with the Biblical authority to claim whether the manifestation of a particular event is the fulfillment of Prophesy or not.
