No archaeological site or ruin has, or thus far, can be, reliably determined as Sodom or Gomorrah.

The Bible proves they were on earth:

Gen 10:19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

Gen 13:10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

The phrase first appeared in Byron's Don Juan (1823) … “'Tis strange—but true; for truth is always strange, —stranger than fiction.”

Then it appeared in Disorder in the Court, where Curly said, “truth is stranger than fiction, Judgie wudgie”.

So how did they establish that the remote viewer wasn't just fabricating what Mars was like a million years ago?

They just report on the impressions. Of some unknown target.

From Forbes.com

New research finds that a powerful airburst from a meteor colliding with the atmosphere may have wiped out a Bronze Age civilization along the north side of the Dead Sea some 3,700 years ago. While the findings come from the excavation of the Tall el-Hammam archaeological site in Jordan, many believe that the same place was once known as Sodom.

Yes, as in Sodom and Gomorrah from the Bible, Torah and Quran - the cities of sin supposedly destroyed with brimstone and fire sent from God.

Archaeologist Phillip J. Silvia of Trinity Southwest University in Albuquerque has been working with a team that has been excavating the site for over 13 years and presented their report at the annual meeting of the American Schools of Oriental Research last month.

Samples from the site show that an extremely hot, explosive event leveled an area of almost 200 square miles including the Middle Ghor - a circular plain to the north of the Dead Sea.

"...not only wiping out 100 percent of the Middle Bronze Age cities and towns, but also stripping agricultural soils from once-fertile fields," reads the abstract from the conference presentation.

There was quite a battle that took place on Mars a long, long time ago. The blast waves of of material that was designed not to melt, melted. These are not ancient dirt deposits moved by water waves from the past. The reason being that Mars never had water.
