Thank you I am. I was using absurdity to comment on the absurd.

True, but it's the worst fighting there in 7 years
My point is the region has nearly always been at war and I doubt there’s much any American president can do to change that. Neither side has any interest in putting their weapons down, working out their differences and coming to a mutual agreement.

There were more rockets fired at Israeli citizens in a 48 hour period (1,300) than in the previous nine years combined.

Five times greater than the number of rocket attacks during the last Administration (the majority happening when we filled our promise to move the Embassy to Jerusalem).

Biden re-establishing financial aid to them, along with his return to a soft stance on Iran.

Dozens of GOP senators urge Biden to halt Iran 'sanctions relief' talks amid Israel-Hamas fighting

More than 40 Republican senators urged President Joe Biden on Wednesday to halt talks with Iran over possible "sanctions relief" with Israel facing rocket attacks from Hamas this week.

The lawmakers said Iran is a "longtime financial and material supporter of Hamas," which was designated a terrorist organization by the United States in 1997, and added that lifting or reducing punishments levied by former President Donald Trump's administration would embolden a regime "that seeks to destroy Israel."

"Over the past couple days, Palestinian terrorists in Gaza, who are funded by Iran, have launched a series of rocket attacks into Israel," the senators wrote in a letter obtained by the Washington Examiner. "They are targeting Israeli civilians and cities, including Israel’s capital Jerusalem. This is troubling as members of your administration are currently in Vienna negotiating with Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism."

9 years seems like an arbitrary line to draw. Why not look at the long and well established history between these groups? I don’t see even the slightest effort from either party to slow down the fighting. They both seem to want war with each other.

JCPOA...that ring a bell?
You mean the agreement that Iran has been in violation of for some time for the US's imposition of sanctions over non-nuclear activities?......that agreement?
The Obama Administration’s Policy

The Obama administration made clear that lifting sanctions against Iran applies only to nuclear related issues. In his announcement on July 14, 2015, the day the JCPOA was signed, President Barack Obama stated that the JCPOA “doesn’t mean that [it] will resolve all of our differences with Iran . . . [the U.S.] will maintain our own sanctions related to Iran’s support for terrorism, its ballistic missile program, and its human rights violations.”

This statement comports well with Iranian pronouncements. On August 28 Press TV quoted the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran who “reiterated Iran’s compliance with all its commitments under the JCPOA.” On August 31 it published that according to the latest IAEA report, Iran did not exceed its nuclear allowable limits under the JCPOA.

Recent U.S. sanctions against Iran, consistent with the 2016 Treasury Department guidelines, however, were triggered by Iran’s non-nuclear activities not covered by the JCPOA.
Do Recent U.S. Sanctions Against Iran Violate the JCPOA?

Yes the one that dear President Trump reneged on but still expected Iran to honor, that’s the one!

What a great way to dismiss facts!

Let me ask you some questions:

Which is the one side allows people from any religion to live within it's boarders - Israel
Which is the one side has gay rights? - Israel
Which is the one side has the death penalty for homosexuality - Palestine
Which is the one side is allowing their citizens to vote for the very first time in their history? Palestine
Which is the one side has been Democratic since their inception - Israel
Which is the one side has given up the most land in attempts to promote peace between the two? Israel.
Which is the one side states repeatedly that they want the total destruction of the other side? Palestine.

You mean instead of sending the worlds largest supporter of terrorism millions of dollars in cash like the Barack Hussein did? That agreement - horrors! Trump cut off the finances to terrorist. How rude of him.

Quote: May 11, 2021 -

(May 11, 2021 / MEMRI) Hours before clashes in Jerusalem that resulted in 17 injured police officers and more than 200 wounded rioters, a senior Hamas official made a public call for the Arab residents of Jerusalem to go out and murder Jews.

In a video aired on Hamas’s Al-Aqsa TV on May 7, Hamas Political Bureau member and former Hamas Interior Minister Fathi Hammad urged people to “cut off the heads of the Jews,” demonstrating with his hands how to begin by severing the artery.

“Buy a knife, sharpen it, put it there, and just cut off [their heads]. It costs just five shekels. With those five shekels, you will humiliate the Jewish state,” he said.

Quite frankly I do not care what happens in Israel. Not my country not my problem!

Indeed -- and the people who want it to be our problem are showing their true colors. #AmericaFirstMyFoot.

Dat’s right! This is Biden’s ‘Merica. Not America First but America Only. Supporting our allies is out.

We send them $4 billion/year, all in military aid, and they still can't secure their own country against an "enemy" with no standing army, no navy, and no air force.

Either they can do it without us, in which case they don't need our money, or they can't, in which case we're propping up a failed state.

And what do we get out of the deal?

Why should we be fighting some other country’s conflicts with their neighbors?

Let me ask you some questions:
Which is the one side has given up the most land in attempts to promote peace between the two? Israel.

I generally agree with your points, except that the current government has worsened the problems considerably.

1) Israel does not "give up" land when they put strongly anti-Palestinian settlers in more and more settlements in Palestine areas. If Israel needs military installations in Palestinian areas, so be it. But settlements have been a very bad idea. The settlers, especially new ones, have made the relationships much, much worse.

2) Also, Israel's failure to stop the racist attacks within Israel by the equivalent of the Proud Boys is reprehensible. This is a result of the leadership of a far right government. ALL political parties support a string defense. They do differ on the treatment of the far right gangs.

Anyone who believes in Biblical Authority (ehem....the Catholic Church) wouldn't even bother to propose such inane questions.

That line of thinking could have just as easily have been used (and was used) to justify the crusades.

Give it a few hundred years and religious folks will be referring to this as one of those things non-religious people constantly bring up about the troubles with religious thinking.
