As you said, it's not uncommon in the military and the military life. I saw the seedy side years ago the first year of our marriage, believe it or not, on how the young Air Force guys were living when I visited my soon-to-be ex-husband when he was stationed in S. Korea. Saw what happened to some military families throughout the time my "ex-husband" was in the Air Force. It's a tough life, even though I grew up a military brat, but of course, I didn't feel anything was strange because that was my life. But Dad was an Air Force Colonel in JAG - a judge and defense lawyer for 30 years. His circle of military buddies was a bit different than my soon-to-be ex-husband's. Doesn't mean JAG was immune, though. Unfortunately, the majority of my dad's cases were domestic, dealing with AF men killing their wives. Ugh
