That's a dictionary style definition with a few examples. I think you'll find at least some of those sermons (there are whole books as well!) go further. And as I wrote before, if that's all there is to it why are there so many sermons and books on the subject - according to what you seem to think aren't they a waste of time and effort?

You didn't respond to these questiohs:

If it's all so obvious to you then why did you bother to respond? (to the OP)

And who do you mean by "we" and "us"? Are you writing on behalf of a group of people? If so who are they?

I responded because I was confused as to what the question was because you answered it and I was referring to we as the forum members, or the people you are asking or sharing with.

As I've explained the question goes further than mere definition (e.g. what is a sadducee?) since many sermons and whole books have been written on the subject.
How can you write on behalf of other "forum members" without first eliciting their views?

So do you think the people described in Mt 7:21-23 are Christians or not?
A simple yes or no will answer the question.

No, ofourse not otherwise they would be allowed entrance into the Kingdom (and they were not). Just because someone says "Lord Lord" as many will say to him does not mean they are His (meaning followers of Christ) they were working inquity and he tells them to depart from him.

False brethren like I said

Thus far in the previous posts, the premise is: that with those of Matthew 7 which Jesus will tell to get away from Him are non-Christians, but is actually according to men's LEAVEN doctrine of OSAS (once saved always saved, i.e., once you believe on Jesus you cannot sin ever again).

However, God's Word reveals that above idea is not so, otherwise Apostle Paul would never have warned brethren in 2 Thessalonians 2 about the coming time of the great falling away, nor would Paul warn about brethren falling away in the last days.

1 Tim 4:1-2
4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
KJV

Acts 20:28-31
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
KJV

2 Thess 2:3-4
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
KJV

2 Tim 3:4-8
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
KJV

2 Tim 4:3-4
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
KJV

I notice one thing Davy, almost everyone who quotes 1 Tim 4:1-2 leaves off at that semi colon and verse 3

1 Ti 4:1-3 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

You can go past that ofcourse but that last line up to the period sheds some light on what will be taught in the latter times when departing from the faith there.

If you ever watch someone quote that portion of scripture 99% of the time verse 3 is left off of it after that semi colon.

I see a clear dividing line between the subject of "seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron", and the subject of vegetarianism. I'm not against eating meat, but I'm not against those who prefer a vegetarian diet either. Afterall, that's the kind of diet the prophet Daniel requested. That's what "pulse" means (Daniel 1:12).

But does there seem to be some Leftist-political leaning folks that are against eating meat because they are against the idea of killing animals? Yeah, there are those animal-rights groups like that out there too.

1 Jn 1:5-10
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all b sin.

The "light" is God's perspective.
It's how God thinks and perceives and evaluates.
Its also, the holiness and righteousness of God.

The born again, are Children of the Light.
Christ is the Light of the World.

Therefore, to walk in God's perspective is to walk in the light.
What is God's perspective? Its the mind of Christ.
So, to walk in that is to have it, as a "renewed mind", vs walking in a "natural mind" or a "carnal mind".

When you have this mind, this "God's perspective", this mind of Christ, then you are walking in the light.
This is the same thing as walking in the Spirit.
