So you don't drive a car or fly in airplanes ?

What about other forms of medicine, do you take vaccines for polio or small pox ?

Why pray to God for help if the help he sends, which may be the vaccine itself, you'll not use it ?

Reminds me of the story of a man who was at his house during a huge flood. It was so bad he had to climb onto the roof of his house. He prayed to God and asked to be saved.

Suddenly a rescue boat came and told the man to get in. Instead the man said, the Lord God will save me, and he remained on the roof of his house.

Then, a helicopter came and dropped a ladder to him. They urged him to climb up. However, the man responded that the Lord God would save him, and he refused to take the ladder.

Then more rain came and washed the man off the roof and he drowned.

When his soul came before God he asked angrily, "why didn't you save me ?" The Lord God responded, I sent you a boat to rescue you, but you refused to get in. Then I sent a helicopter and you refused to take the ladder to safety.

The moral is, God usually uses the things of this world to work his miracles. Don't refuse the gifts that God is sending you.
Not every help we get is sent from God. I don't think God would send us an untested Vaccine that was forced out quick. We have no idea what sort of reactions people are going to have from taking this years from now.

It's selfish to your family and others who have to interact with you.

Get your shot and stop whining.
Ringo
It is manipulating telling someone they should get something they don't feel in their own heart is safe to get. If you want the shot. Then go a head. Everyone has the right to make their own choices. If you have the shot. You shouldn't be having to worry about someone not having it. If you feel it is so safe. You should be fine.

J & J vaccine is NOT mrna

husband got it & had no side effects, not even a sore arm
We don't know what long term side affects it may have though. Just because there isn't any immediate side affects. Doesn't there won't be any bad ones say a year from now. Not everything has instant side affects. Good or bad ones.

Agreed. Not to mention it has hardly been tested. We are the guinea pigs of this vaccine that was pushed out quickly.
Do you really think so? Given that many of the rich and powerful have had the vaccine, I'd say they have a very different view from you.

My church leader is in lecturer in biochemistry at a leading university and he, along with an epidemiologist gave a presentation to our church on the vaccines, how they were developed and the level of testing. As he said at one point, had this happened 10 years ago there would be nothing that could be done except to wait it out. Modern vaccines have been developed by people, including Christians, to combat a number of diseases.

The main issue is not some trumped up conspiracy, but rather the fact that governments are buying huge amounts of vaccines from firms that are essentially making enough profit to fund an entire country (a friend who is also an epidemiologist said that only Astra Zeneca is being offered at cost price).

Generally testing has to take time. Why is it that testing all of a sudden doesn't need to take such timing now? How exactly can they know what the long term affects will be or not be? Especially in vaccines for something that is completely new. It isn't like it is making a new flu vaccine which has prior vaccines to work off.

Not strictly true. When people's reasons are based on ungodly fear or conspiracy theories, it should be necessary to correct that - not because they need to have a vaccine, but because they have lost fear of the Lord and replaced it with fear of something else.

The Less people who have the vaccination the more the disease spread... and mutate and if it mutates too much, the vaccines will become useless. It is why governments have been and should be pushing the vaccine in a major way. Israel seems to have been at the head of the game and has all but wiped out the disease in its borders (last I heard). And while India has made a huge effort to get people vaccinated, its people have continued as normal and been spreading the disease.

We are called by Christ to love our brothers - not to take a gun and shoot them... which is what happens if someone who has not been taking precautions will do to those who have.

If you love your brother, you will lay down your life for them... so taking a vaccine should be a walk in the park in comparison.

I know someone who has refused the vaccine on three occasions, not because she doesn't want it, but because there are people who are more needy than her (retired and stay at home anyway). Unless there are medicals reasons for not taking the vaccine, no Christian should be refusing it if they want to continue to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

Of course it was quick...it's 2021....we should be quick...that's the miracle of modern medicine for you right there. :)

Because companies and governments have known for a long time that it was only a matter of time that something like this would happen (it is a SARS variant). They have been preparing for it for around 10 years and testing the process successfully during that time

I've attached the slides for a Q&A presented by two of our church members who are experts in this area.

They have tested....they've run Phase 1 thru 3 clinical trials.

But actually we do know since these are variants on existing vaccines.

We also know what is happening to people who get COVID and some are suffering long term effects. Better to not to get COVID at all, but unless you are going to stay at home for the rest of your life, you should probably get vaccinated.

We won't be safe if people who "feel in their heart" that getting a vaccine to protect them against a disease is the wrong thing to do. I got both my shots; I'm fine. Go get your vaccine.

It doesn't matter how vaccinated I am if people refuse to get vaccines because of "gut feelings". You don't eradicate polio, for example, when only a portion of the population gets the vaccine.

Don't know if you're skittish about vaccine safety (which is fairly understandable) or believing conspiracy theories, but get the shot(s).

COVID 19 is not going to be eradicated. There will be yearly boosters just like the flu. It must feel awful believing that (1) you need to be vaccinated in order to be safe and also (2) you aren't safe even if you are vaccinated! How do you do it?

I won't be getting vaccinated. You ain't my daddy.

don't you care about protecting kids where you live? kids have died from Covid; even 1 child dying is too many

40% of people who have it, don't know they have it! you might be sick, not know it, and spread it

in our community, kids got a day off from school so teachers could get vaccine
since then, the no. of kids (in person school) getting Covid has dropped significantly

yes, YOU can make a difference by getting vaccine

We're not safe when grown adults sound like toddlers being told to eat their peas refuse to get vaccinated.

It's helpful to remember from time to time that other people exist other than you. It seems like a lot of people whining about getting vaccinated need that reminder.

I don't believe that kids are at risk of dying from COVID in any way worthy of consideration. And I think that vaccinating kids could be much more harmful than kids getting COVID. Don't you care about some of the dangerous side effects of vaccines for kids?
