So we can add geneticists who do not see a bottleneck in the genetic history to the giant conspiracy along with the biologists and geologists?
Not a conspiricy, an agenda, to distract humanity from their creator. satan started it approx. 5000 years ago, why would he stop now? Proverbs 22:6

No, it’s a fact, even if it is a true story. I was actually trying to avoid the term “myth”, shall we settle for “account”? It’s not my intention to antagonise anyone.
Creation narrative :)

Actual Psalm 27 is lovely poetry, especially as rendered in the King James Bible. I know it well from my own choirboy days, long ago!

But give proper respect those who have another anthology! We will not all live under the authority of elders; we will think for ourselves. American children should be taught to do the same, in science and in places of worship - if they attend.
Children are not taught about creation in school though, are they?

So, we won't enquire about which of the eight was carrying chlamydia.

(This account of the Flood is one of the things that put me off the Old Testament aspect of Christianity. There are others, but probably this is the worst!)

At least you’ve read it. It’s not easy reading from what I remember...think I’ll read it again tomorrow.

Read Genesis 1 again, who knows?

Don’t know much about STD’s tbh :|

So I have been told. Apparently this has always been true because the American Constitution forbids religious instruction. The opposite is the case in the UK where the Law demands that Religion must have a place.

Yet even with this requirement the teaching about the creation must be put in the context of a 'broad range of beliefs', these days including other faiths.

RE Changed in the uk Since 2015, the curriculum covers six main faiths. Who in their right mind would want to teach that subject?

It never fails to amaze me that in the midst of the greatest public healthcare crisis in a century that has claimed almost 600,000 American lives in 16 months, as to why the priorities of state and congressional Republicans remain focused on "culture wars" - transgenders, creationism, ...?

What do Christians have to gain from becoming embroiled in scientific controversies concerning the mechanics (Adam and Eve vs evolution) and timelines (7 days vs 4 billion years) all they need say is that it was God inspired, then move on to devote their time and efforts to more productive endevours?

Those politicians who attempt to impose personal religious beliefs held by only 5.6% of the American public are not representing the majority of their constituents!

Legislation to use the government to try to save a failing worldview. Seems about par for the course with "conservatives" these days.

Conspiracy. The number of people who would have to be wrong for your narrative to be correct beggars the imagination. Put simply, your claims do not come across as credible.

Yes, many will be lost/wrong, due to deception. ‘Where the worm never dies, and there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth’ I pray that The Lord will have mercy on the poor deceived souls.

Credible-Incredible...Romans 1:20

I suspect more would be lost when you try to convince them that the Earth is 6000 years old and that the flood account is a factual retelling of events.

Where’s the scientific evidence that the earth is 4 billion yrs old?
Or the universe-13 billion? if that is what they’re ‘predicting’ now.

It’s obvious to even the most untrained eye, that there has been a global flood at some time in history. The sedimentary rock layers are proof enough.

Since you're just going to casually dismiss the answers, why do you even ask? But if you would like to explore this more, you might want to start a thread in the Physical & Life Science section.

For something quick and easy, you can just look at the other galaxies (whose light would need millions to billions of years to reach us) to determine that the universe is ancient.

Are you capable of being wrong? That seems much more likely then the millions of people whom your narrative require to be so fundamentally wrong we would have to rethink or entire interpretation of reality.

You have no idea of geology, have you, Psalm27? A good place to start might be G Brent Dalrymple: The Age of the Earth. It is not too technical, but some understanding of algebra (high school level) would be helpful.
