Considering she was only out to kill 2 people, I suppose sh could have shot them 41 times instead of the wacks. She was acquitted so she is as innocent as a certain politician.
More likely ... many (politicians) ...

The gun owner should be charged with attempted homicide to make an example of the responsibility that lies on the gun owner.
I don't think that we could make that work.

Perhaps, some order of lethal negligence ...

How many would have died if the shooter didn't have access to a firearm? Asking for a friend.

Oh yeah that sounds like a really smart question until you actually try to disarm America of its 350,000,000 guns in circulation. How do you expect to accomplish this? That question is irrelevant if it’s an unattainable scenario.

Good guy with a gun? Nothing could ever go wrong there...

C-658VsXoAo3ovC.jpg

Man Killed by Police at Alabama Mall Was a 'Good Guy With a Gun'

I never said nothing could go wrong. So let me get this straight because a good guy with a gun was killed accidentally we shouldn’t have any good people with guns? Excellent idea let’s just get rid of the police and military while we’re at it because they’ve been killed on accident more times than we can even count. Heard of a kid that drown once, perhaps we should get rid of water while we’re at it?

People don’t have access to firearms in England either but they keep on arresting people for possession of illegal firearms. There’s a huge black market for guns in England and police have been seizing them by the hundreds for decades.

Preventing a person who should not have been able to purchase firearms is disarming America, seizing the legal firearm from law abiding citizens, and some how equates to removing 350 million firearms from the country. I see.

I’m sorry I misunderstood your position. Yeah every gun owner should have their guns locked in a safe, gun box, or trigger lock. They should face criminal charges if their gun is used in a crime and they didn’t have it locked up. I would 100% support that law.

An armed police officer who is ready to kill a pre-teen is not necessarily someone that I’d want on campus.

An armed officer who is willing to do what it takes to protect the lives of innocent pre teens is someone I would want on campus. If a pre teen is killing other pre teens then they’ve made that choice. Those who are innocent shouldn’t have to pay the price.

I wonder if the teacher said something like: 'Please put the gun down.'

Or is that just in fairy tales?

Many years ago my uncle, a nurse in a mental hospital, was called out when one of the patients had run away. He had stolen a shot-gun from a farm-house and was hiding behind a hedge. My uncle sized up the situation and walked up to the patient, quietly took the gun, gave him a cuddle and walked him back to his ward. The End.

Moral: people with guns need not be shot out of hand.

You’ll notice that the OP’s shooter was taken alive. You’d rather them be dead?

The only thing that's going to stop a bad 12-year-old with a gun is a good 12-year-old with a gun.
There's way more good ones out there. My daughter was one. The problem is the perception of what the gun is for, not the gun.
Firearms safety and responsibility need to be taught.

... guns make it a heck of a lot easier to kill MORE people.
I certainly would not use a gun if I wanted to do the most damage to the most people. Explosives are a lot deadlier and you don't have to be there.

Have you heard of the concept of criminal responsibility? At what age is a child to be held criminally responsible? I am sure there are laws about this in every American state.

I am weary of the callous responses from the gun lobby protagonists here. The life of no man, no child can come before the inalienable right to bear arms? Do they listen to themselves?

And quite easy to make to boot, easier than getting a gun in some areas.
Just read the Anarchist Cookbook, I had a copy of that 30 years ago before the Internet as we know it was around.
