I am happy she stood up today and speaking the truth, but I would not call her a "Stateswoman" or courageous woman. Little over a year ago she was “Perfectly OK” with the idea that sitting POTUS withheld foreign aid to a foreign leader to get dirt on his political opponent so sitting POTUS can get re-elected.

I would not call her a "Stateswoman" or courageous woman when she was “Perfectly OK” with POTUS go to foreign land and give press briefing where POTUS put CIA and DNI under the bus and take side with dictator like Putin or she was “Perfectly OK” when trump call a national hero like John McCain a looser.

Today Rep Cheney found the “line” Trump crossed on Jan 6. Truth is , unlike other republicans who wants to run in 2024 , she found that if she goes against Trump now, in 2024 she will be only anti-Trumper running and she can get all anti-Trump voter to support her, while all pro- Trump candidate ( Cruz, Rubio and 20+ others) will fight over same voters.

Trump crossed the line the moment he started birther movement, Trump crossed the line the day he announced his presidency in 2015 with his bigotry. Republicans crossed the line the day they nominated Trump. The line was crossed long, long time again. Those who took the ride with Trump, they don’t get my support.

Media , Democrat and never-Trump thinks people who stood up to Trump past few years are Champion . James Comey is no hero because he stood up to Trump, James single handedly altered the US election in 2016. AG Jeff Sessions is no hero because he refused to get in Russia investigation, Jeff Sessions was the most racist senator in 2015, who was the first one to endorsed Trump.

Let’s not kid ourselves. This Republican party is done. they will stay relevant next 4-8 years but after that, outside of the South they will be irrelevant. Current Republican party has no interest to change nor they care about bringing new people in. They will change election laws in the southern state to be relevant for next few election circle, that’s about it.

As I said, I disagree with her politics, but it is statesmanlike to take a courageous stand when you are the only person (or almost the only person) with the courage to tell the truth--no matter what the consequences.

Obviously, McCarthy is aiming to punish her courage by removing her from her house leadership position, and the party is planning a strong primary challenge when she runs again in 2022.

The Trump side has largely moved on. They got the recount and saw there was no fraud, now they're back to work. It seems to be the Never Trumpers that seem to keep going on about Trump.

After McCarthy's hot mic, Meghan McCain had a hot mic of her own.

There's some mild cursing and blasphemy, so if you don't like seeing that sort of thing, don't go looking for it. The upshot:

Significant amounts of the Republican supporters support Trump more so than truth, democracy or conservative values.
That puts the Republican party into a spot where they either promote Trump or they promote honesty and conservative values but they cannnot support both.

Only one of these options will keep these supporters voting for them.

How many of those 75,000,000 believe that Joe Biden won the election fair and square and is the legitimate 46th President of the United States?

It is indeed th business of the Republican Party. For them leaders must openly espouse that Trump won the presidency and only election fraud in a dozen states cost him his overwhelming victory. Again, this is their choice.

Romney could do that now. Please note that not one Republican voted for stimulus. Will it be different for the jobs bill or for the family bill?

If you talking about the next election, I don't Romney is on the ballot until 2024.
