1 Corinthians-
6:12 All things are lawful, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me,
but I will not be brought under the power of any.
10:23 All things are lawful, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me,
but not all things edify.
The Kingdom of God is like a great estate, whose owner invited many guests.
He greets those guests personally, and invites them to enjoy any amenity
they find there. He then points to a fence off in the distance and informs them
that they are not allowed to go beyond that boundary. Now go, enjoy your stay!
The children of disobedience will run straight to the fence. They peak through the
fence in an attempt to see what is on the other side. They climb the fence to get
a better view. They put one leg over and say “Look! nothing happened”. They dare
one another to go over, run to a landmark and back to see if anything happens.
Children of obedience will not even direct the slightest attention to the fence, trusting
that everything good and perfect will be found on the estate.
When Paul spoke against the dogma of his education, he was in support of the Lord’s
teachings on doctrines of men. For example, there is extensive teaching on what a
person can do, how far they can go, etc, and NOT violate the Sabbath. Children of
obedience fully explore the depth of rest and joy that is to be found in the Lord’s
presence. How far away they can go and not sin unto death is far from their thoughts.
Philippians 3:14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward
call of God in Christ Jesus.
Prayer for faithful brethren beloved.
Ephesians 3:
14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened
with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and
grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and
depth and height;
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with
all the fullness of God.
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works in us,
21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.
Amen.
