Biden is now officially the best president since 1909: "No one making less than $400k will pay..."

I actually thought this thread was genuine.....lol. There I go assuming the best again...... Thanks for setting us religious folks straight......I need it and welcome it.

Though guilty of quote mining far too often the religious are not the only ones that do so. I use how I could quote mine, and yes that is lying, to support an equally false claim. The complaint about Biden's statement is simply quote mining and no more. Everybody should be above this, not just Christians. But it is reflects poorly on the Christians here that are attempting to quote mine.

A gaffe. Funny.

It's not like Biden's gaffe is 'unpresidented' or anything like that. Definitely not a smocking gun. Did you know that the Continental Army took over airports during the American Revolutionary War?

I see no merit in advocating for a neighbor to be taken from despite another's willingness. Charity should be voluntary, shouldn't it? Unless of course, Rome is the middle man between ourselves and God's grace.
If they ask me to walk a mile....shall i not offer two? IF they take my cloak, shall i not offer my coat as well?

We have too much to give, to deny anyone anything. To whom much is given, much is required.

So don't for him in 2024.

Please hear now, the best news ever. Trump could have never ever done what Biden is fixing to do for the American people:

"Anybody making less than $400k a year will not pay a single penny in taxes"

@23:09, for the entire nation to hear:

Best President ever. Please, everyone give a big cheer for no taxation. How awesome is this news!!??

I can find threads on here about things Trump said that folks spent days blowing out of proportion.
Something about "there were good people on both sides" comes to mind.

Not a very good example. Defending extremists when he should have been attacking them.

He did...literally his next sentence was "not the neo-nazis"....and yet here we are, still talking about it even today.

You prefer to have MANY people just suffer instead of a few incredibly rich people virtually unaffected by a tax rate?

I'd prefer to have no one suffer, but I know that life, no matter your wealth contains suffering.

Worrying about what other people have to the degree that you want to see it taken from them is called coveting. 10th commandment.

We? Please speak for yourself. My family isn't poor, but we're not rich either. I certainly don't "have too much to give," and I'd wager most people on this forum don't either. There is nothing keeping yourself rich but you. Give it all away if you wish to publicly profess such willingness.

But you think everyone's life is filled with equal suffering, right? Cause that's absurd.

Also it seems strange that you say you don't want ANYONE to struggling and yet you are arguing FOR a system with many people actually struggle and that struggle could EASILY be at least partially mitigated with no meaningful struggle being induced for another party.

I could actually debate that point from a sin/total depravity perspective but I'll pass; but I will simply state that money doesn't buy happiness, and while it might prevent some suffering, it by no means stops pain which medicine cannot fix.

Also it seems strange that you say you don't want ANYONE to struggling and yet you are arguing FOR a system with many people actually struggle and that struggle could EASILY be at least partially mitigated with no meaningful struggle being induced for another party.

On the contrary, I'm arguing for a system that would require you and me to no longer pay the government to conduct the business which Christ commissioned us for and to be more directly involved in charity work BECAUSE we have seen public welfare erode families, replace fathers, keep people from marriage, keep people from employment and literally CREATE generational poverty. But lets dance; if you didn't pay any more income taxes, what would you do with the money?

Winner. You just proved the point. And I didn’t even need to look it up.

That was rather weak sauce to say the least. He did not mention the Proud Boys, nor all of the other groups that we neo-Nazis in all but name.

It's the broader context that Biden often mispeaks. You can't take what he says seriously or at face value. Even though he said that Americans would not pay taxes, he meant that Americans would not pay more taxes. Don't you have a grandpa?
Words mean things. If he says no taxes, I don't have to pay taxes. Yippee

When I say "we" I mean those who know the Father. One who knows the Father will not say that they lack anything. Even earthly children of wealthy parents say that they, too, are rich....... what should the children of the one who made that wealthy parent say?
I became rich after I gave away everything I had..... if you want to be rich too... you must do the same.

Let he who has an ear....hear.

Where did you ever get that idea from? Yes go ahead, analyze the words used. But when one analyzes it must be done in context. You are familiar with why I point out that quote mining is not proper, aren't you? Quote mining is usually an attempt to argue dishonestly. I could quote mine the Bible, though I would probably get in trouble here if I did so. In other words I can quote parts of it out of context to make it appear to say what it does not say. If one listened to the speech in context his meaning was clear that he was talking about new taxes even if he did not include that word in that particular part of his speech.
He needs to go back and correct what he said; because if you have to assume he meant something else every time he says something, how can you really know what he is talking about?
