Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned
in whatever state I am, to be content.

1 Timothy 6:
6
Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
7
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is
certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content
with such things as you have. For He Himself has said,
I will never leave you nor forsake you.

The True Measure of Prosperity Is A Soul At Rest
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things
and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

Amen James, I will add to your OP also so true

The acknowledging o the truth is after godliness

Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

Its our exercise

1Ti 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

1Ti 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

2Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

1Ti 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

1Ti 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Covetousness in the Pharisees

Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other;
or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke 16: 14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

They esteemed abomination

Luke 16:15 And he said unto them Ye are they which justify yourselves before men;
but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

These guys deriding Jesus on this same thing, justifying themselves would seem to indicate the same sort of perverse disputings found here as well

1 Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds,
and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

2Peter 2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Prov 28:22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

Prove 23:6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye,
neither desire thou his dainty meats:

An evil eye is a good study too and how thine eye be evil against thy poor brother,

Prov 23:4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.

Prov 23:5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

Trust not in "uncertain riches" since riches will make themselves wings

Prov 28:22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

Prove 23:6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye,
neither desire thou his dainty meats:

Heres another this shows covetousness and an evil as separate and wonder if thats done sometimes so could catch the same by nterchanging them in the same patern of thoughts throughout scripture?

Mark 7:21-23 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries,
fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Duet 15:9 Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.

1 John 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Mat 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

Mat 6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

1 John 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
