Numbers are coming down because of the vaccine, and also because of natural herd immunity. Numbers began coming down long before there were enough people vaccinated to credit the vaccine for the decline.

While it hasn't gotten a lot of media attention, studies have shown that people that have been infected with COVID-19 and recovered now have natural immunity. There are currently 31,924,610 KNOWN cases of COVID in the country. That number is substantially higher in reality as antibody testing has shown. At one point, the CDC suggested that number could be as much as 5-10x higher due to undetected cases. If that's the case, at least over half of the country has had the infection.

Despite all of the doomsday predictions at the beginning of the year that things were going to spiral out of control, that never happened. Case numbers began a precipitous decline long before there was mass vaccination. According to CDC data, the decline began right around January 8, which is odd since that is when the "experts" told us we were supposed to begin experiencing a spike from the holidays (which never materialized). The only logical explanation is natural herd immunity.

Let's also take a look at Michigan.

In all of Michigan, currently there are 922 people hospitalized with COVID-19, comprising 4.14% of the state's hospitalizations;

In all of Michigan, there are currently 203 people in the ICU with COVID-19, comprising 8.55% of all ICU admissions in the state;

Of course people died.

The survey I posted showed that only 18% of the US population can correctly assess the risk of COVID to them. The rest SEVERELY overestimate the risk to themselves.

People have lost the ability to assess risk properly due to the abject failures of public health. Now they just wait with bated breath at every nonsensical bit of "guidance" from the CDC so they can make sure it's safe to walk down the street without a mask on.
