As Dr. Joseph Mercola...

Is it the genetic fallacy to point out that this quack has been making false health claims for decades and has been taken to task by the FDA for spreading his lies?

Yes, if that’s the sole reasoning for dismissing what was said. It would be akin to me dismissing any argument you make because you are an atheist.

Does that mean you seek no medical care when ill?

I sought medical care years ago when I kept getting rapid heart beat attacks. I kept going to the hospital and they could never find out what was wrong with me.

However, now I know why this happened to me. I was not voluntarily headed in a direction God wanted me to go in.

Since surrendering to God’s direction I have not had any medical episodes again ever since.

Given Mercola's track record on medical and health issues, on induction alone you'd be far safer rejecting anything he says than accepting it (same goes for Mike Adams).

You'd be better off trusting Dr Oz. Literally. Only about 15% of what he says is actively harmful.

Well then, prithee enlighten us - explain to us how it is that Bill Gates and other elites plan to "take over the United States and establish a Marxist high-control regime"

This should be amusing.......
I don't know if Bill Gates is involved but it's already happening. They have a fine little pawn for president now.

If you think that's what a "High Control Marxist Regime" is, then I'm all for it. :)

And right off the bat, you started with a genetic fallacy. That was predictable.

You mean like point 2 out of the 18? That the origin of the vaccines is from the evil pharma companies? T

And let's look at point 1. It makes the false claim that vaccine producers cannot be sued. A flat out lie.

Twice a lie as all that is required is that the case first goes to vaccine court which has a LOWER burden of proof. Something that makes any legitimate claim more apt to be won.

I give the author some points in rebuttal. But some of his points don’t really address the issues. So, folks can read both and decide for themselves.

I urge people to do that. Nice bluff though.

From a link on point 1. I’m no lawyer, but it seems clear.

God’s work is perfect.

Man’s work is flawed.

Why would I put my trust in man to extend my life?

Because man's work is documented to have extended our lives. The same can't be said for God.

Again, genetic fallacy.
Pointing out the idiocy of an idea by a certain organization isn't a genetic fallacy, ANY group that claims something that grandiose of a conspiracy theory deserves to be mocked because it's implausible.

You might want to look up what a genetic fallacy actually is.

You might want to understand that people aren't claiming it's incorrect merely because of the source, but that it's suspect given the conspiracy theory level thinking and misinformation that's spread.

Or do you just trust everything you read on the internet? In which case, you're just contributing to the overall problem if you suddenly think this must be reputable because it's not "mainstream", which I'm pretty sure is a fallacy as well and far more irrational than your attempt at claiming a fallacy when you don't have the substantive argument put forward, just an isolated post.

Since no one has actually addressed any of the claims, and have only attacked the source, by definition it’s a genetic fallacy.

So you just assume the claim is true without substantiating it? Sounds like ANOTHER fallacy, a pretty common one: argument from ignorance.

By all means explain why someone has to take your claim seriously when the source can be demonstrated to have peddled misinformation consistently on topics like vaccination. That's not purely the source itself, it's a reputation that is factually inaccurate and not caring to correct itself

The argument has been substantiated in the OP. I get that there will be some areas of disagreement. I can’t think of too many ops where everyone agreed. But are we talking about the OP? Nope. Why? Genetic fallacies abound.

This is a Christian forum?

Boy, the scriptures never fail:

"...when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:8)

God’s work is perfect.

Man’s work is flawed.

Why would I put my trust in man to extend my life?

"My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee." (Proverbs 3:1-2)
Funny how life expectancy shows the opposite to be true. We wouldn’t have as many people comfortably enjoying old age as we do now if it weren’t for human medical intervention and technology.

Men lived for hundreds of years at one time before modern medicine. And even after that, living to over a 100 years was not uncommon as documented in scripture. You will live until the day the Lord will allow you to live. And seeking to man to extend your life usually ends up with a life of prescription drugs and a lower quality of life in the end: your better off dying when you were supposed to die. But God will let you pursue your vanities and suffer the consequences of it as well.

"And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul." (Psalms 106:15)

And besides, the Lord said:

"He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal." (John 12:25)

Furthermore life expectancy has been shortened because this is a sinful and wicked generation:

"The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened." (Proverbs 10:27)

"Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." (Mark 8:38)
