Are you really a light-being or the son of god (what do you think)?

A friend of mine asked why sugar or carbohydrates tastes so good and I didn`t really have an answer for him, many people will just say it`s the brain or something that figures of the taste sort of, but I personally don`t believe we are one and I think the reason why something tastes good or feels good for example, is because it`s just real like we are, it`s just the real taste or feeling of something because we also are real, think about it, everything in the universe is just made up of energy probably to the deepest core, sort of like energy that get`s cold and stiffen and then become some matter we can feel as solid, but this energy can`t be destroyed or take apart to study, it`just what it is, it`s real and solid and warm and makes up everything in our worlds, so my next big question is, are we really just light beings since we`re made up of energy and this stuff are doing things and forming everything we see around us, one person on tv said that under a psyotic episode saw the walls moving like theyre alive, so it got me thinking, since only a mind can be random in it`s actions, is it really living since nature around us also are random (otherwise we`d just get bored of it and see patterns everywhere)?

, are we really just light beings since we`re made up of energy

All matter is made up of energy particles held in atomic fields of attraction, these atoms we held together by the same attraction force to make molecules and these are also held by the same forces to make the substances we know as matter.

You cannot move through a wall, chair or your clothes due to the interaction of the attractive force that holds everything together.

I have explained this very badly, try reading a book on physics and matter.

Essentially you can forget about the space between molecules, atoms etc and concentrate on important things like.

On what logical grounds to you reject Christianity?

We are REALLY fleshly creatures formed by God for the indwelling of a Spirit; and He wants to be the NEW Spirit in us to guide and keep us and lead us to His "beloved Son" ---the Lord Jesus (note John 3 and John 14). Speculation about being "a light" should only speak of our testimony in this world.

We are sons & daughters of God. It is God Who is the being of light as He demonstrated in His transfiguration on Mt. Tabor ( see Matthew 17:1-9 etc.). Note that the Lord demonstrated this prior to His resurrection. He gives us the same promise to the faithful prior to our resurrection except that ours is fulfilled after our resurrection. The Lord promises our transformation in the resurrection ( see Matthew 22:23-33 etc.).

We are beings of matter comprised of trillions of atoms.

Sugar tastes good because the sucrose molecules interact with taste receptors on our tongues, those taste receptors send signals to the brain, that information triggers the pleasure center of your brain to release chemicals which make you feel good. That is, sweet things trigger the pleasure region of the brain, and the brain rewards us for doing so. It's not just sweet things, lots of things can trigger this response.

Why do sugars do this? Because the body needs sugar for fuel, when we eat food the nutrients in that food is broken down, enzymes and other biological processes break down and convert complex sugars into simple sugars which can then be used directly by the body. Eating simple sugar is basically a short cut, the body is instantly getting the sugar rather than deriving it from more complex chemicals such as carbohydrates.

We evolved from fruit eaters, fruit constituted a primary if not the primary food source for our ancestors, and so we have an evolutionary biological reason to like sugars: fruits contain lots of energy, body needs energy, brain tells body it has done good by getting that energy, and so eat more fruit. It's the opposite, in many ways, to the sour and bitter tastes, especially bitter which serves the opposite purpose. Many bitter compounds are poisonous or toxic, and thus having an early warning system--"eww! this tastes bitter!"--means we have a better chance not to poison ourselves from our food.

We aren't beings of light.

We are "energy", in the same way that all matter is "energy", depending on how we are defining "energy". The problem with the word "energy" is that it gets used to mean something it doesn't actually mean. Energy is work or force. It's not forms of various ethereal substance.

These atoms that comprise us really are what we are made of. We are dust, made of the same things this planet of ours is made from.

But we are animate matter, alive matter. And it is that quality of being alive that is special; and even more than that, we are living creatures that have the capacity for reasoning, we have rational minds, that makes us moral agents in the universe. In this we bear God's image and likeness, reflecting God's likeness not on the basis of our matter or form, but because we are relational, feeling, thinking, moral creatures.

The human person is not just homo sapiens, the thinking man; but is also homo liturgicus, the worshiping man.
