"Boys will be boys!"

While we're on the subject, if a girl sleeps around, then she's labeled derogatory names that aren't allowed to be posted. It's an age-old double standard because that hasn't been the case with boys.

It should be.

If one speaks out against Gluttony then they are labeled a fat-shamer
If one speaks out against homosexuality then they are labeled a bigot.
Even addressing sins in the Church as opposed to the sins committed by unbelievers is starting to get looked down upon due to the false doctrines being espoused by "Progressive Christians".
The fact that one sin exists does not excuse another...nor do the labels given by the world..

I will say this much as far as unbeliever's go, whatever sins they commit do not matter. It is not that sin that sends them to hell but rather their sin of unbelief. Besides, the verses against sinful living are addressed to those in the church anyways. It's cautioning believers against continuing to live in habitual sin, especially those who flaunt whatever their sinful choices are like it's no problem. For further information, read 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and Hebrews 10:26-27

The interesting thing about speaking the truth about sinful behaviour, it makes sinners uncomfortable.
The church often misses the point, because this is not about confronting sin, but rather warning about the damaging effects of sin. The wages of sin is death, ie the behaviour destroys you.

I was discussing the problems of abusive language towards women, and my daughter was very much against it. I suggested that the culture around wife swapping etc. is equally abusive, but she thought it was adults choosing their behaviour so it was ok. History shows this is not true, jealousy, abuse, objectifying relationships into sexual interactions alone, sharing with people you should never trust, but through desire, individuals open themselves up to it, so it must be okay. Young people easily talk about those outside the family playing around, but their parents, that's totally different.

If one wants to oppose bigot labelling, talk about the fruits of various behaviours and the hurt individuals that result. I have heard people defend prostitution, because the women choose this lifestyle, except, it easily slips into criminality and abuse, because there is no one who loves and cares truly for these individuals, and they sell trust for money, to those who care little about either. We are wired to die for our families, so to betray them is to betray ourselves. Abusing sex is to walk right over how we came into existence ourselves and our deepest emotions and loyalties.

Gluttony is not something you need to point out. Rather why people have got themselves into this mess. Excess weight restricts what can be done and how long people live. Get above 40 and you probably will not make 50. Very few overweight people love themselves, most are caught in behaviour patterns that work against them. In the Lord if we can help get alongside these folk and help them understand they are appreciated, there is hope things will shift.

Whats wrong with theft? It destroys the very reason goods are available in the first place, so if you destroy this you lose the ability to have things at all. All sin has this destructive element to it, which is why it is so universal across cultures and societies. We are better together as a team than individuals fighting for only the immediate gratification of desire. And literally, no one can argue against this, it is just the basis of life. God bless you

"We have shifted from lifting up God and living the life, to dragging out the adulterers and stoning them in the streets."

But wasn't this what Jesus did ?
No, The Religious people..the ones who where righteous, only in their own eyes.....drug the woman out for stoning....... Christ picked her up and sent her on her way.....and didnt follow her after to see whether or not she was continuing in sin....

Who says we should follow after people checking up on them?
