That actually made me laugh. It resembles a form of elitist methodology. People actually believe others derive their meaning in life based on whether they are accepted. In other words, the only way for one group “to have meaning” is to fall in lock step with the cool kids.

Almost as pathetic as judging integrity by TV ratings, eh?

Now is not the time or place to comment on the left leaning media elite.

Perhaps it does. Good point.

No, not a misrepresentation - but a different interpretation of what the actions of the president caused. We have a difference of opinion.

viva le difference!

Husband: "Why did you cheat on me???"
Wife: "I didn't cheat on you, it was just a different interpretation of our marriage vows. Viva le difference!"

Too bad this thread is not one of the ten of thousands that address complaints about the former President.

The only reason you don't want Trump brought up is because it would allow the responders to point out your screaming hypocrisy. You may as well set the thread parameters as "I'm going to post my opinion, but please do not bring up numerous prior occasions where I said and supported the opposite of what I'm now stating."

Trump called for a boycott of the NFL and got far more involved in that sort of nonsense than Biden is alleged to have, all which you cheered on. Your double standards are ridiculous and should not be tip toed around just because you ask us to.

(Insert your own "Trump Divorce Deposition" joke here)

Standards are difficult things to maintain -- it's far more often easier to change with the blowing wind and continually point fingers at the other fellow...

It seems more of a demand than "asking," really.

I remember a time when many conservatives (who support Trump) compared Obama to George W. Bush or Clinton to Bush Sr. And they didn't have a problem comparing a Democratic President to his Republican predecessor. However, that's not the case anymore since Biden was elected. Anyone who compares Biden to Trump is automatically accused of a ridiculous whataboutism by Trump supporters.

I see this debate tactic as nothing more than a weak attempt to silence any further criticism of Trump and an attempt to keep pushing their narrative against Biden. But we don't have to listen to them and bend to their will because they're not in control of how the discussion about Biden should proceed.

Furthermore, they're not in a moral position to judge and criticize Biden for anything controversial he says or does. They've lost the moral ground to judge him after spending five years insisting "I voted for a President, not a pastor" and purposely disregarding Trump's contentious unchristian behavior.

I'm not seeing chaos since we watch ABC:

"The three broadcast TV networks have done an about-face in their coverage of the president since Joe Biden took office, airing mostly positive stories, compared with their mostly negative treatment of his predecessor, Donald Trump, a new study found."

Close, but a truer picture of what is happening:

Husband: Why did you cheat on me.

Wife: your dad cheated on your mom.

The popular excuse "I voted for a President, not a pastor!" has mysteriously disappeared since Biden was elected. It's no longer relevant among the majority of conservatives who utilized this excuse since Trump's first presidential campaign five years ago. Ironically, ethics and the personal character of the President are important moral issues again for these conservatives. It's too bad they've lost the moral ground to criticize Biden and no one is taking their indignation and complaints against him seriously.
Not everyone used that excuse. So you can’t lump everyone together.

I didn't say everyone. I said the majority, which indicates that there is a small group of his supporters who didn't use that excuse to dismiss his unchristian behavior. That's not lumping them altogether.

How do you know it’s the majority?

I’ve never been to a theater in Europe. Where did you live in Germany? I am scheduled to be in Augsburg in July and Cologne in August.

In past years I’ve been in Munich, Frankfurt, Bonn and Stuttgart. I absolutely love riding the ICE lines. Super comfy.

I’m looking forward to July because I found Business class tickets for the same price as Economy Comfort. Lay flat seats are the absolute best on a nine hour flight.

I lived around Ramstein (lived in three locations). I enjoyed the trains though didn't ride an ICE, they first started those lines slightly more than a year before I returned the US. I think my favorite towns in Germany were Heidelberg and Freiberg -- really liked the Black Forest and the Bodensee.

I loved Switzerland. Another favorite memory is driving on backroads in Northern Austria, from the Bodensee to about Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany (only crossing the border a few miles south or Garmisch), an amazing and scenic drive through the mountains.

Maybe the positive news about the current President is a reflection of just how bad the last guy was?

I’m sure that plenty of people thought that President Trump was a “good president”, heck he got nearly nine million more votes that he did in 2016, the first time he lost the popular vote.
