Contrary to what Premil teaches: Revelation 20 does not locate Jesus on earth!

Has His last enemy been made His footstool yet?

That will happen at the second coming when He will finally banish Satan, his minions, the wicked and all evil from this earth and introduce perfection.

If not, then there is your answer. Satan has not been bound.

I already addressed this earlier on the thread. But as is customary, Premils avoided it. I will re-post:

When Christ introduced the kingdom of God to this sin-cursed world at the commencement of His earthly ministry He essentially announced the beginning of the spiritual invasion of Satan’s territory. Those that were in darkness were liberated everywhere He went. Those that were bound by Satan were released and demons were subjugated. Nations that were once engulfed in total darkness controlled exclusively by the powers of darkness would now mercifully see light and liberation. In fact, everywhere the kingdom of God advanced Satan was decisively unseated. Christ disarmed Satan and rescued men from his power. Everywhere the kingdom of God manifested it was marked by the preaching of the Gospel, the sick being healed and demonic spirits being bound. That is not to say Satan is without power or influence in the world. It is rather that believers under the anointing of God have victory over the evil one and power to bind his influence.

There is no doubt, individual unbelievers are very much under the devil’s control and influence and therefore utterly deceived by him. 2 Corinthians 4:4 confirms that “the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not” and 2 Timothy 2:26 explains how they are “taken captive by him at his will.”

Matthew 12:22-29 records, Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David? But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind (deo) the strong man? And then he will spoil his house.”

Jesus describes Satan here as the “strong man.” He depicts Himself as the One who enters the house the strong man and plunders his goods. But before this happens he must first be incapacitated.

The Lord identifies the casting out of devils, and the resulting liberating of souls, with the actual binding of the strong man. He in turn presents this as proof that Satan is curbed through the presence and victorious function of the kingdom of God. Christ was specifically referring to Satan here (the strong man) and his demonic kingdom, and expressly connects his binding with the manifestation of the kingdom of God during His earthly ministry. The subjugating of devils was proof of the spiritual restraint of the evil one. Satan could not prevent this. Satan could not overcome those who had been rescued by Christ.

The devil was subject to the purposes of God and hurt by the spiritual advance of the kingdom of God. This kingdom is still alive and active today. Souls are still being marvelously delivered from the power of Satan. The binding of the strong man continues today wherever the Gospel prevails.

Mark 3:11, 23-27 also records: unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God ... And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils. And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind (deo) the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.”

This familiar discourse by our Lord came as a response to the crude scoffs of the religious Scribes (during His earthly ministry) dismissing Christ’s deliverance ministry as a work of Satan. Christ’s reply confirmed that the binding of Satan commenced 2,000 yrs ago and is not simply a future hope that will occur after the Lord’s return. He said: “No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.” Christ was firstly referring to the false charge that was laid at his door in relation to his assault on the demonic realm. Secondly, He was describing the subjugation of the “unclean spirits” as “when they saw him” they “fell down before him” in surrender.

Jesus said in the corresponding passage in Luke 11:20-22, if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.”

Here, Christ highlights the Sovereign power of the kingdom of God and reveals how the “strong man” – Satan – and his kingdom of devils can only be defeated by One that is stronger than them, namely Himself – the Son of God. As we examine the gospels we discover, Satan was stripped everywhere that Christ confronted him. The Lord entered the devil’s house and took authority over him and spoilt His goods. Previously, Satan's grip on the nations was so strong and so embedded that the truth of God's Word could not penetrate through. The devil overwhelmingly controlled the Gentile nations.

Christ said: “When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace.” This was a direct reference to the unchallenged power of Satan over the nations in the Old Testament. The vast territory of the Gentile nations was under his evil control. He governed the nations at will and operated in an unmolested environment – thus “his goods” were said to be “in peace.”

Satan’s wicked grip over the nations was loosened by the life, death and resurrection of Christ. Many millions were liberated by His message of hope and liberation. In fact, if anything was representative of Christ’s ministry it was the binding of the works of darkness and the deliverance of the afflicted. Christ defeated the power of Satan and all his minions with His sinless life, His vicarious death and His victorious resurrection and therefore wholly fulfilled His earthly assignment. The advance of the kingdom of God therefore has seen the pushing back of the devil’s frontline throughout the nations. It is not that he can’t still create havoc and deceive people; it is that he can’t hinder the triumphant advance of the Gospel throughout the world.

Whilst 1 Thessalonians 2:18 proves that Satan hindered Paul, there is other New Testament proof that the devil didn’t stop Paul. To establish this, I had to do a bit of digging. I will try and keep it simple. The first thing we need to note is that the passage we are reading this evening 1 Thessalonians is accepted by historians and scholars as having been written in A.D. 51.

The other thing we need to be aware, is: Thessalonica was the capital and major port of the whole Roman province of Macedonia. In fact, it was the centre-point of what God was doing in Macedonia.

Well, 1 Corinthians was written four years later in A.D. 55. And in 1 Corinthians 16:5 Paul testifies: Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia.

2 Corinthians is believed to have been written in A.D. 56. In 2 Corinthians 7:5 Paul again testifies: "For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears."

Paul almost certainly realized his plan to visit Thessalonica during his visit to Macedonia. 2 Corinthians 7:5; 8:1-5, and 9:1-4 seem to support that contention. Commentators are of the view, he visited the area a few times.

As the Puritans held: God’s delays are not His denials.

The early church believed in the sabbath-millennium, and Barnabas, who was with Paul in ministry, taught in his epistle, that God took six days to complete creation, and rested on day seven, as a foreshadow of there being six thousand years, or days, from Adam to the second coming of Jesus, with the millennial reign being the seven thousandth year, or seventh day, aka Gods sabbath rest for His people, which Hebrews 4 touches on,

When Jesus returns in flaming fire, a sword, and the wrath of God, He wipes out evil people, lands on mount olive, splits it in two, with a huge chasm in between, and the kingdom’s of this world become His kingdom, Revelation 11:15, and His followers reign and rule with Him on the earth.

During the millennium Satan is bound in chains, and the millennial reign is an object lesson for all creation, of the difference between Satan being god of this world for thousands of years, with all the evil, and suffering he caused, and Jesus ruling the nations for a thousand years, with peace, no evil, and long life for those in His kingdom.

Then Satan is loosed in order to tempt those born during the millennium, and he immediately deceived enough people to raise an army to surround Jerusalem where Jesus rules from, but they are destroyed by fire from heaven.

Okay. I think if we are honest with ourselves, the devil still overwhelmingly controls the gentile nations of the world today. If you look at the U.N. assembly, the vast majority of those countries are not Christian. When Christ comes back, He sets up a global theocracy with Himself as the head of it all.

Once again, Satan was bound "FOR" the Elect so Christ can spoil His people out of Satan's House (world of spiritual bondage) through the testimony of the Gospel. I do not think you really understood what 1st Thess 2:18 is actually all about. You thought this verse proves that Satan has the power to prevent the church from spreading. Well, you are wrong, else we are not saved if Satan successfully hindered the Gospel from reaching to us since the Cross.

Now to address your misunderstood of 1st Thessalonians 2:18:

Context

The context is in the previous verses,

“For ...you suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews, who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and displease God and oppose all mankind by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they might be saved...” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:14-16‬

The context is about hindering the spread of the gospel that might lead to salvation by the unbelieving Jews supported by the Scribes and Pharisees.

Connection

Who else hindered the gospel of the kingdom?

"But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23:13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Cause

And what does Jesus say about these Pharisees? Who is their father and who inspires their decisions?

“Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” ‭‭John‬ ‭8:42, 44‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Conclusion

So when Apostle Paul says

“because we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan hindered us.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

If you put this all together earlier in verses 14-16 he says that the Jews prevented them from preaching the gospel to the gentiles and because they again have been hindered from preaching the gospel to them in person by the Jews, knowing that they are simply doing the will of their father the devil, ultimately it was the devil that was standing against them and not the Jews. Because the fight is not against the persons but against the power that guides the person

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

And in this case, the deceived Jews were being guided by their spiritual father the devil and Paul correctly identifies the source as being the devil. Fighting against the Jews would not have garnered as much success as fighting against the spiritual enemy dealing with the source directly.

Yes, the spiritual forces of Satan were working through his unsaved people to hinder the spread of the Gospel but he was UNABLE to prevent people from getting saved. That is why his power was limited (being bound) until Christ first finish building His Church WITH HIS PEOPLE being saved. Only then Satan will be loosened. Yes, Satan has many Christians hurt and killed during the New Testament period, but that does not mean he was not able to prevent Salvation from reaching to God's chosen people that is what Revelation 20 is about.

Therefore your position on 1st Thess 2:18 has been refuted.

Refuted only in your mind,

Satan is god of this world until Jesus returns, who is the thief who steals, kills, and destroys, who is the roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, so per Ephesians 2, we have to put on the whole armor of God to defeat him, because as Paul wrote: WE BATTLE NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT AGAINST PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS AND RULERS OF DARKNESS, AND SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES.

Clearly he’s not bound yet, and when he’s bound during the millennium, there’s no war, or evil, for a thousand years.

Consider your refutation refuted.

Barnabas was an Amil. He never once mentioned a future thousand years. Premils force that into his writings. The idea of 6,000 years of world history occurring before the second coming was widely held among believers of differing eschatological viewpoints. The divergence came with what they believed came after Christ’s return. Early Chiliasts believed that there would be a thousand years period after the second coming and before the new heavens and new earth wherein Christ would reign on earth. Early Amils believed that Christian’s coming would usher in the eternal state and the new heavens and new earth.

It is written concerning the Sabbath in the Decalogue which [the Lord] spoke, face to face, to Moses on Mount Sinai, "And sanctify ye the Sabbath of the Lord with clean hands and a pure heart. And He says in another place, "If my sons keep the Sabbath, then will I cause my mercy to rest upon them. The Sabbath is mentioned at the beginning of the creation [thus]: "And God made in six days the works of His hands, and made an end on the seventh day, and rested on it, and sanctified it.” Attend, my children, to the meaning of this expression, He finished in six days. This implieth that the Lord will finish all things in six thousand years, for a day is with Him a thousand years. And He Himself testifieth, saying, Behold, to-day will be as a thousand years.” Therefore, my children, in six days, that is, in six thousand years, all things will be finished. And He rested on the seventh day.” This meaneth: when His Son, coming [again], shall destroy the time of the wicked man, and judge the ungodly, and change the-sun, and the moon, and the stars, then shall He truly rest on the seventh day. Moreover, He says, Thou shalt sanctify it with pure hands and a pure heart. If, therefore, any one can now sanctify the day which God hath sanctified, except he is pure in heart in all things, we are deceived. Behold, therefore: certainly then one properly resting sanctifies it, when we ourselves, having received the promise, wickedness no longer existing, and all things having been made new by the Lord, shall be able to work righteousness. Then we shall be able to sanctify it, having been first sanctified ourselves. Further, He says to them, "Your new moons and your Sabbath I cannot endure." Ye perceive how He speaks: Your present Sabbaths are not acceptable to Me, but that is which I have made, [namely this,] when, giving rest to all things, I shall make a beginning of the eighth day, that is, a beginning of another world. Wherefore, also, we keep the eighth day with joyfulness, the day also on which Jesus rose again from the dead. And when He had manifested Himself, He ascended into the heavens.

Let us all establish right at the start: there are only 7 days in a week. There are not 8 days. So, what is Barnabas pushing at in his teaching? Firstly, as was customary in his day among early believers, Barnabas was distancing himself from the Jewish Sabbath, or 7th day, or Saturday worship. He emphasizes: “Your present Sabbaths are not acceptable to Me.” He simply articulates the widespread existing viewpoint of the early church, that of discarding the Jewish Saturday Sabbath and its replacing with a new Sunday Sabbath for Christians.

Involved in this was a replacing of Saturday with Sunday as the true Sabbath (or 7th day). Corresponding with this, Sunday became widely designated as the 8th day – the day of Christian worship. Why? Well, the 7th day was already taken. Rather than label the Christian Sabbath merely as the 1st day of the week, early Christians spiritually considered it the 8th, the day of new beginnings.

Of course, in Scripture, 8 is the number of new beginnings. It was on that great resurrection Sunday that Christ conquered the grave and rose from the dead. Sunday quickly became central to Christian worship. It was resurrection day.

Whilst Barnabas believes in 6,000 years of world history, and advocates a Sabbath rest for the 7th day, he is careful in not identifying it with the Jewish Sabbath. He equates this to the Christian Sabbath, which related to a Sunday (the day of new beginnings) in the natural week. In fact, as part of his work he dismisses the Jewish holy day as redundant. What is more, he makes no mention of a temporal 1,000 years kingdom after Christ’s return. Search the writing of Barnabas and you will not find any such mention. Premillennialists argue that from silence or inference. Rather he depicts an eternal perfect Sabbath of rest.

Barnabas basically repudiates the Jewish Sabbath (which was celebrated on a Saturday – the 7th day) and praises the Christian Sabbath (which was celebrated on a Sunday – the 8th day). He in turn likens time itself to the 6 days of creation, making it 6,000 years in duration, with the 7th day of time being likened to the Christian Sabbath which was known by early Christians as the 8th day.

Luk 8:12 The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

Clearly Satan is not bound now.

Ok. You totally avoided the biblical evidence I presented and then deviated to another subject. This is a Premil habit. That is because the Scriptures totally forbid that theory.

Anyway, does Scripture not outline that following Calvary the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ went out onto the Gentiles (ethnos)? And that while individual Gentiles can still be deceived or attacked by Satan, the collective veil that once deluded them has now been remove. Satan cannot stop the Gospel going to the nations as he once did. Since the cross, the Gospel has spread throughout the heathen nations of this world, something that never happened previous. However, this doesn't stop individuals being personally deceived.

Revelation 20:2 makes clear, "And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years. And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations (or ethnos) no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”

Scripture often makes general sweeping statements in regard to a people or peoples pertaining to their spiritual state in a given era.

The millennium represents the free spread of the Gospel to the Gentiles, as prophesied by Christ, the prophets and the apostles, and Satan's inability to thwart that because of spiritual restraint. That will all change at the end, when that advance is curtailed by the kingdom of darkness just before at end, just prior to the second coming, in Satan's little season, according to Revelation 20, 2 Thessalonians 2, and other Scripture.

Binding the strong man had a clear context of casting out a demon. That can’t happen except by first binding Satan in that situation, so that demon can be cast out.

Which is why the apostles used the name of Jesus each time they cast out a demon, as in COME OUT FROM HIM IN THE NANE OF JESUS.

That fact and context refutes trying to claim that Satan was completely bound from doing anything at any time.

Not only did Satan hinder Paul, the scriptures clearly say that Satan is the god of this world, who steals, kills, destroys and devours, and who can steal the word when it’s preached, so they don’t believe.

The words of Christ override your words. Matthew 12:22-29, Mark 3:11, 23-27, Luke 10:18-19, Luke 11:20-22, John 12:31-33 Colossians 2:13-15, Hebrews 2:14-15, I John 3:8, Revelation 9:1-11, Revelation 12:7-9 and Revelation 20:2 prove Satan was cast out, bound, defeated, incapacitated, divested of power, disarmed, brought to naught, undone, stripped and spiritually imprisoned through Christ's sinless life, atoning death and triumphant resurrection. Colossians 2:15 tells us: “having spoiled (or divested or disarmed) principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Satan has not been rendered immobile or inoperative but is limited in his power, kingship and influence by being defeated on the cross. He is like a dog on a chain. He is shackled.

Since the first Advent, Satan is shown to be a conquered foe!

• Satan is powerless to do what he wants to do.
• He is powerless to stop the Church of Jesus Christ spreading the good news of Gospel throughout the nations.
• He is powerless to stop someone coming to Christ.
• He is powerless to stop a man or woman of God walking in the will of God.
• He is powerless to harm a believer without God’s permission.
• He is powerless to resist a Spirit-filled believer implementing delegated authority from on high against the devil and his demons.
• He is powerless to affect the final outcome of this battle between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness.

Please address what I said and try and rebut it, instead of going off on your usual rabbit trails. Again, zero evidence and ongoing avoidance. That is your pattern. This is not right. The Scripture you present makes no mention of Jerusalem, you force it into the text to support your mistaken beliefs.

Revelation 12 places the defeat of Satan at the resurrection / ascension: "And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."

Here, in correlation with Revelation 20, we see the end of Satan unchallenged deceiving of the Gentiles. John declares: "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ." How?

Previous to Satan's eviction, God was Israel's God, not the Gentiles God. Satan ruled the nations. But through this casting out of Satan, after man's penalty had been paid in full, he no longer had anything to accuse the elect over. It was indeed finished! The powerful spread of the Gospel to the Gentiles lifting the deception that kept them bound. Satan was now bound. The boot was on the other foot. With the global expanse of the great commission the Gentiles now are without excuse. The ignorance is gone. The veil is lifted. The means by which God lifts deception is the preaching of the Word of God. This has now been successfully ongoing throughout the nations for 2000 years.

Satan's defeat came after the resurrection. Here is when he got his eviction notice, and here is "when" salvation came to the "whole world" - not just one nation Israel. The deception enveloping the Gentiles was lifted - praise God. They are now without excuse, just like those in the OT that rejected salvation. Salvation has now come to the nations. But Satan had to first be cast down. He had to be defeated. Christ’s life, death and resurrection safely secured that. As a result the Church becomes a militant overcoming organism.

Christ’s death, burial and resurrection was the decisive blow against Satan. His defeat has already been wrought. This passage plainly shows the powerful result of Calvary and the deep impact it had upon Satan. It shows us that Satan is now under Christ’s feet and is now subject to His Sovereign will. Satan and his minions are barred from heaven. They have been banished after they were defeated 2,000 years ago.

Christ predicted shortly before He destroyed the power of Satan at the cross, in John 12:30-33: Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die.”

There is no correlation between 12 and 20, period. 12 does not once mention a rule of Christ of any length. Are you removing these words from Revelation 20 so you can cram it into your death, burial, and resurrection, that is not mentioned in either 12 or 20:

"and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

Where in 12 are there thrones and judgment and a resurrection?

In 12 the woman (Israel) escapes from Satan on earth twice. You claim Revelation 20 is not physically on earth at all. You claim if they rule and reign with Christ it cannot be on earth.

If you apply Salvation to the binding of Satan, your are negating the Cross as the Atonement, and the power of the death, burial, and resurrection. How can you equate the two on equal footing? The only reason this claim is made is to deny the Lord's Day happens at the Second Coming. How can events in 2021AD even relate to events in 30AD?

The power to defeat Satan was from God and a separate thought process from the Atonement on the Cross. Even under the Law one could resist Satan and cast out demons.

"And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges."

I will defer to Jesus' own Words and let the fact that even under the law, they will be the judge, and prove the Advent of Christ was not a drastic change of binding Satan and casting out devils.

There are many verses in the OT where spirits were sent by and removed from people by God Himself. How much more was Satan on earth giving God's people a challenge even in the OT.

What changed is the Law and Atonement. God's power did not change. Revelation is not about capturing Satan in the first century and binding him, and Revelation 12 never shows Satan bound once throughout history. The point of Satan being cast out and his angels one last time is because in the 5th Trumpet, they were unlocked from the pit and free to go all over creation. No angels nor demons following Satan are mentioned at all in Revelation 20.

Taking quotes from Jesus does not prove 12 and 20 corroborate each other.

The only word in common is "bound" in your post. The church has the power to bind. Yet that power has nothing whatsoever to do with either chapter 12 or 20. There is no binding in chapter 12. An angel binds Satan in Revelation 20, and only after Satan is defeated at Armageddon.

You also are placing once again the 7 Trumpets in the first century. Full Preterism.

Yes the Cross was a huge blow to Satan. It was not when He and his angels were cast out of heaven once and for all. Revelation 12:6 is when the first century stopped.

"And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days."

From verse 7 on is during the 7th Trumpet. The 7th Trumpet ends at Armageddon, and the Lord's Day begins. The 7th Trumpet was not in the first century. The Lord's Day did not start in the first century. Satan bound at Armageddon did not happen in the first century. Even if symbolic, Satan is not bound until the end of time, not in the first century. All this overcoming is not complete until time is up. Time is not up until the days of the sound of the 7th Trumpet.

If you claim all of Revelation 12 is in the first century, all I can say is full preterism. That would put Revelation 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 in the first century. You already claim Revelation 20 is the first century, up to a point. 42 months has to mean something, and not stretched out for 1991 years and counting. The 7th Trumpet sounded in Chapter 11. No where is it even found sounding after that. It cannot stop though until all is complete at Armageddon. Including the casting of the FP and the beast into the lake of fire, and binding Satan in the pit.

I am not one bit concerned that my views 'do not agree with your view of leaving this age'. If that was my gauge, my theology would be messed up. Amils test everything by Scripture. The Bible repeatedly exposes your views. It shows the removal of the old heavens and earth and the introduction of a brand-new perfect heavens and earth to be the second coming. You have ducked around this biblical truth.

Jesus said in Matthew 24:35-37, “Heaven (ouranos) and earth () shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”

The phrases rendered “pass away” in the Greek is parerchomai which basically means “perish.” It identifies the passing of this current earth at “the coming of the Son of man.”

2 Peter 3:10-13: “the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”

We see in this reading that “the day of the Lord will arrive (heko) as a thief in the night; in the which (en heé)” or literally translated “in which” (the word “the” being absent from the original). The word en is used 2,831 times in Scripture and is overwhelmingly interpreted “in” or “within” throughout. Significantly, it is not translated as ‘near,’ ‘close to’ or ‘close by’ in any of these references. Support for the complete demolition attending the actual appearance of Christ in all His glory is also found in the same chapter in 2 Peter 3:12, which explains, “Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.”

1. The heavens shall pass away / perish with a great noise.
2. The elements shall be ‘loosed by being set on fire’,
3. The earth shall be ‘burned up utterly / consumed wholly.
4. The works that are within the earth shall be ‘burned up utterly / consumed wholly.

Creation will be finally purged of wickedness, all the wicked, rebellion and all degeneration forever when Jesus comes. If the remedy for the corruption of the old heavens and earth is the introduction of a brand-new perfect heavens and earth then we are looking at an all-consummating reference to the destruction of the current globe and the existing heavens. The old arrangement that is marked by sin and insurrection is indeed destroyed by fire (as Peter said) and changed to a new glorified perfect arrangement “wherein dwelleth righteousness.” This allows no room for the continuation of unrighteousness or corruption, as Premils insists. Such is totally eliminated through the conflagration.

The whole description indicates that the heavens (outer space) we know now will be no more.

The current universe and stars are all going to be changed when He comes. Christ will be the eternal light on the new earth!

Revelation 20:11-15 – 21:1-5: “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth [Gr. ] and the heaven [Gr. ouranos] fled away [Gr. pheugo]; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

Read Revelation 21:23: "And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof."

Revelation 22:5: "And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever."

This is the second coming!

The Greek word pheugo is “a primary verb; to run away (literally or figuratively); by implication, to shun; by analogy, to vanish.”

Here we see “the earth and the heaven” flee away from the very presence of Christ coming upon His throne; it is clearly His appearing that ushers in the end. The arrival of the king of glory also sees the resurrection of the dead (righteous and wicked). Elsewhere in Scripture these things are located at His Coming. In fact, it is difficult to see how Premils can locate this event at anything other time than the second coming when we allow for the many plain climactic passages in Scripture.
None of this negates the Lord's Day and 1000 years. Noah's Flood did not negate the thousands of years that came after the Flood. The fire of the Second Coming does not negate the 1000 years that comes after the Fire of God's all consuming judgment. Where is the Second Coming found in Revelation 20 one time? Christ is already on earth and more so than you can prove He left and comes back a third time.

Actually, it's always been this way. Just read book of Job.

Satan had power and influence over the nations before the cross. The Gentiles were deceived. The Gentiles were in darkness. But since the First Advent the devil has been bound, curtailed, and limited in his power and influence, and is unable to curtail the enlightening of the Gentiles as a whole.

Jesus said, in Luke 24:46-47, thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations (ethnos), beginning at Jerusalem.

Contrary to what Premils argue, Christ’s resurrection was the first. Obviously, the believer’s physical resurrection can’t be the first resurrection – Christ’s has already preceded it. The resurrection of the just is still to occur. Moreover, the resurrection is here identified with the enlightenment of the Gentiles thus removing their long-held deception. This agrees with a current fulfilment of Revelation 20.

For thousands of years before the cross Israel was the sole national custodian of the Gospel. However, the earthly ministry of Christ marked the turning point for this state of affairs. In fact, the resurrection was the pivotal event that opened the way for the global un-blinding of the Gentiles. This climactic event secured salvation for the “whosoever believeth” of all tribes, colours and nationalities – none excluded. Without Christ’s victory over sin, death and the grave the Gentiles would have remained in their darkened state. The Jewish rituals would have been restricted to a physical brick building in Jerusalem city, where Gentiles where kept on the outside.

It is a fact, the Gentile nations sat in darkness for 4,000 apart from one notable exception – the city of Ninevah. The veil of darkness covered every Gentile nation. Calvary saw the boundaries of the Gospel witness enlarged to embrace a global harvest field. The kingdom of God was preached in power and authority to the heathen “and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed” (Acts 13:48). Luke identifies the sufferings of Christ followed by his “rise from the dead the third day” as the catalyse for the Gentiles receiving the Gospel. Luke confirms that this occurred for the purpose “that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations” including Israel. The suffix attached to the end of this statement proves this, by saying, “beginning at Jerusalem.”

Paul received his great commission to go onto the Gentiles with the Gospel during his conversion experience on the road to Damascus. The Lord said unto him in Acts 26:16-18, “rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles (ethnos), unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”

Paul’s commission was to preach the Word to the blind ignorant darkened deceived Gentiles. God promised him that through this Gospel Gentiles would receive Christ and be turned from darkness to light, blindness to sight and deception to knowledge.

The (ethnos Strong’s 1484) or nations will witness the global spread of the Gospel, up until a time of severe curtailment of the preaching of the Word and gross debauchery in society prior to Christ's Coming. This is where the Holy Spirit (the restrainer) is drawn back from the midst of them.

Scripture often makes broad general sweeping statements. When Scripture tells us that the Gentiles would no longer be deceived it does not mean every single one of them, or even most of them, would be saved, just that the ignorance would be finally lifted from the darkened Gentiles.

Acts 26:23 declares, “Christ should suffer, and that He should be the first resurrection from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles (ethnos)."

The first resurrection opened up the Gospel to the nations!

We should note in this passage, the enlightening of the Gentiles (or) ethnos is carefully connected to the first resurrection of Christ. It is only through this powerful event that the deception that smothered the Gentiles was lifted. Moreover, the binding of Satan is expressly connected to the enlightenment of the Gentiles (or) ethnos. The Amil understanding of "the first resurrection" can only be understood “in Christ.” The spiritual resurrection that a sinner realizes upon conversion is only realized in "the first resurrection" of Christ. Our second physical resurrection is also procured through the victory of "the first resurrection" of Christ. A Christian is raised from the grave of his sin in this life solely on the grounds of Christ’s first resurrection.

The general broad deception that engulfed the Gentiles in ignorance and darkness is lifted. They now can receive if they believe. That does not suggest the majority will.

Berean and others have shown you that none will escape His return. They are destroyed from His very presence. The BIG difference is: Amils take the literal passages literal and the figurative passages figurative. Premils take the literal passages figurative and the figurative passages literal.

Joel 2:1-3 says, “for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.”

Amils take this literal! This is complete, wholesale, and total destruction - for those left behind. There are no survivors!

Joel 2:10-11: “The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Amils take this literal! This is complete, wholesale, and total destruction - for those left behind. There are no survivors!

Malachi 4:1 says, For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day whichis coming shall burn them up.

Amils take this literal! This is complete, wholesale, and total destruction - for those left behind. There are no survivors!

Jesus said in Luke 17:26-30, “as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.”

Amils take this literal! This is complete, wholesale, and total destruction - for those left behind. There are no survivors!

For example, I Thessalonians 5:2-3: the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

Amils take this literal! This is complete, wholesale, and total destruction - for those left behind. There are no survivors!

II Thessalonians 1:7-10 says, the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.”

Amils take this literal! This is complete, wholesale, and total destruction - for those left behind. There are no survivors!

2 Peter 3:10-13 supports this, saying,
"the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Revelation 19:11-16 makes clear,
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall shepherd them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Verses 17-18 says, I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. The loipoy (or remaining ones) those left behind were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.”

Revelation 20:11-15 – 21:1-5: “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.”

Amils take this literal! This is complete, wholesale, and total destruction - for those left behind. There are no survivors!

Mortals and the wicked do not survive the coming of Christ or are qualified to populate the new earth as you allege. They are destroyed by fire. Berean has repeatedly showed you that and you have rejected the sacred text. You are promoting private interpretation here to sustain your beliefs.

Proverbs 2:21-22 states: For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.”

Even in the Old Testament, when the new age or world is mentioned, it is always identified exclusively with the righteous. This is not strange when we consider it is a prepared place for a prepared people. This is an arrangement where the wicked and wickedness are prohibited from.

Psalm 37:9-11 says, For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait `upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.”

Again, this is a truth that is repeated clearly and unambiguously throughout both Testaments.

Psalm 37:22 says, For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.”

The wicked are not worthy to inherit the new glorified earth and the perfect age to come.

Psalm 37:28-36 continues, “For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever ... Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.”

Here, “evildoers” and “the wicked” are synonymous titles that refer to the unrighteous whereas the designations “those that wait upon the LORD,” “the meek” and “His saints” refer to the righteous. The meek are the glorified believers. They are the antithesis of the wicked. Can you not see that? There are only ever 2 peoples. The meek alone possess the new earth - those that have been redeemed by His precious blood.

Psalm 25:12-13 says: What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.”

This is the truth that is repeated by Christ in the New Testament. We see that confirmed in Matthew 5:5 saying, Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”

This current earth must be perfected. It must be glorified. It must be brought back to the paradise it was before the fall. Every time Scripture speaks of the believer receiving his inheritance (the kingdom/earth) it also shows the wicked receiving their eternal punishment.

The glorified saints are said to inherit the earth. This is assuredly talking about a new glorified earth, not this current corrupt arrangement that they have just departed. Their inheritance is not another period of corruption, rebellion and despair. They have just escaped that. The promised earth in view is actually depicted as a reward for the faithful. It cannot therefore be shared with the wicked.

1 Corinthians 6:9 also confirms: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?”

According to Scripture the ungodly are forbidden from this new glorified earth. The wicked are left outside the eternal kingdom.

When Jesus comes it is the end! The sheep inherit the kingdom (Matthew 25:34) and “life eternal (Matthew 25:46) whereas the goats are cast into everlasting fire (Matthew 25:41) and receive everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:46).

1 Corinthians 15:50 declares, flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”

This reading makes plain, “flesh and blood” or mortal believers cannot inherit a glorified earth that has been purified by fire of every last vestige of the curse. Man in his sinful corruptible state cannot inherit an incorruptible regenerated earth. Nothing could be plainer.

The new earth and the age to come is reserved solely for God’s people. The wicked will not see Christ’s face in the new arrangement because they are not qualified to inherit it. They will be destroyed at His glorious second advent.

At Christ’s return God’s people all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge (or full discernment) of the Son of God, unto a man perfect (or andra teleion), unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13).

We have obviously not arrived here yet, and will not arrive here until these corruptible fallen bodies are changed. To suggest otherwise is misunderstand God’s truth, deny reality and ignore the whole dichotomy between this age and the age to come. The usage of the Greek word teleios suggests ‘needing nothing further for their completeness’.

It is only at Christ return, and only then, when creation and the creature be at one with the Creator. All corruption and rebellion will be finally and eternally banished.
I proved that all of Adam's flesh ended at the 7th Trumpet. No one is alive in Revelation 20:1-3. That is the whole point Revelation 20 comes after the battle of Armageddon.

There is a physical resurrection in verse 4. Those resurrected populate the earth for 1000 years. Those are the words of Revelation 20, not mine. What do you call the resurrection in Revelation 20:4?

If it is physical and they cannot die again, how can that be in the first century?

Since all are dead a few words earlier, God claims there is a resurrection that starts the 1000 years. There is no other logical explanation for a Resurrection in verse 4.

Of course you can make claims all you want. What do the words John wrote actually say, and not using any other private interpretation or opinion?
