Well...according to this feller over on the Theology Forum, the Anti Christ comes from Canada.

The Antichrist is a Canadian

OB
According to the book of Daniel, the Antichrist will be a homosexual from a ten-nation European confederacy.

And before anyone arcs and sparks and starts doing cartwheels, that's basic doctrine.

(Or it was at one time.)

Great!

Sounds like the End Of The World will be one big Gay Mardi Gras. :p

Originally referring to Persian King. Christians included it later in their literature to communicate about Roman oppression secretly. Ridiculous to use it seriously today as some coming world leader but appropriate if referring to lawless leaders metaphorically as in Hitler and others.

Yes, I think for a sizable number of people, it will be something to look forward to. Of-course I'm sure that even things like Mardi Gras or Carnival become boring after awhile. The initial sense of taboo and being a "little" or more than a "little" naughty gets the brain chemicals flowing! However, even good old boy Solomon knew that there was a thing called building up tolerance to brain chemical effects (or at least he must have, being a guy with 800 wives).

Don't get me started on Katrina.

Yes, Katrina killed lots of Christians too (more from what I heard - including women and children)!! However, not sure what their really serious sins were other than the run of mill type that we all do: cheating, lying, greedy, jealous etc.

Why the exclamation points?

1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Don't get me started on Katrina.

I also like that god created a world where he knew people would sin so he could have Katrina go through like a mini great flood and clean up the mess. Kind of must make a righteous god feel warm and fuzzy inside - to kill all those sinners including women and children. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of god ... there is no one righteous, not even one ... But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to wipe out all memory of them from the earth ..." - Thanks be to god!

The Persian kings were represented by the chest and arms.

The Antichrist coming from the ten toes (i.e., Ten Nation Confederacy).

Yes, the apocalyptic literature was often interpreted in different ways and with hidden meanings as I pointed out earlier. You kind of miss the significance if your rendering is literal. Another unfortunate historical artifact of more recent history where more literal interpretations were read into the texts.

From your quote is would seem obvious that American Christians have a lot to worry about. How do you feel about your chances?

Now I'm starting to see a side of you that I haven't seen before.

Heretofore, you came across as a cordial and disciplined apologist for the academic world.

But now, it would appear your true nature is coming to light.

Either that, or the Antichrist is going to come from a ten-nation European confederacy.

Not Canada.

(As far as I know, anyway.)

Not as much as the unbelievers.

But for the record:

30 October 1991: The Halloween Monster, a.k.a. The Perfect Storm, strikes the U.S. amid the "land-for-peace" Madrid peace talks; President Bush's ocean-side home destroyed.
23 August 1992: President Bush moves Madrid talks to U.S. soil; that very day, Hurricane Andrew devastates southern Florida.
16 January 1994: President Clinton meets with Syrian President Hafez Assad to discuss more "land for peace" arrangements; less than 24 hours later, a 6.9 earthquake pulverized southern California.
1 September 1993: President Clinton announces a meeting with Arafat for the Oslo peace accords, to be held on 13 September; after a week of meandering in the Atlantic Ocean, Hurricane Emily hits North Carolina on that very day.
21 January 1998: while waiting to meet with Arafat at the White House, President Clinton's sex scandal breaks out.
27 September 1998: Arafat is meeting with the president in Washington; Hurricane Georges hits Alabama and stalls. The hurricane stalls until Arafat leaves and then it dissipates. Parts of Alabama declared a disaster area.
17 October 1998: Arafat comes to the Wye Plantation meeting; incredible rains fall on Texas, which cause record flooding. Parts of Texas declared a disaster area.
3 September 1999: Secretary of State Albright meets with Arafat in Israel; Hurricane Dennis comes ashore on this very day after weeks of changing course in the Atlantic Ocean.
12-26 July 2000: Arafat at the Camp David meetings. Powerful droughts throughout the country. Forest fires explode in West into uncontrollable fires. By the end of August, 7 million acres are burnt.
9 November 2000, two days after the presidential election: Arafat meets with President Clinton at the White House to try and salvage the peace process; worst election crisis in over 100 years occurs.

Psalm 83:15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

Show me what about what I said is dishonest. Are you denying that the bones I mentioned are correct?

Your total unwillingness (inability?) to demonstrate your source and its context.

You repeating the same misleading descriptors after others point out the issues with it. The whole "Scientists dispute Homo habilis" you were using to imply that there was scientific dispute that it was in fact a transitional fossil, rather than exactly what kind and where it fit into classifications.

Remember that the same people who found the habilis bones discovered the so called "nutcracker man" presented him as a human species, and was totally mistaken. That find is now universally regarded as being a australopithecine, not at all like a homo erectus. That you don't seem to know all this makes me wonder if you have ever really looked into these finds at all.

So yet another example of the same kind of nonsense.

They found a transitional primate fossil, the initial interpretation was that it was closer to a Homo erectus... but further examination of the evidence show that it was closer to an australopithecine.

No dispute that it was a transitional primate fossil.

And the entire situation is possible because Hominid and primate skellitons are so similar that it takes serious effort to distinguish them. Because there isn't a hard line between the colloquial concepts of "human" and "ape".

I'm noticing that you are still not referencing your source... and you only seem to jump to the next idea, after someone points out how flawed your previous one was.

And, of course, we know where the Antichrist will come from, don't we?
It seems to depend on the movie/novel.
For a long time it was China, Then it was Germany, Then Russia, Then Germany again, or Japan. And then Russia and/or China, Then Viet Nam or Cuba, Then Iran, or maybe Nicaragua, Then Iraq, Then switching between Iran and North Korea.

(Hint: see Nebuchadnezzar's prophetic dream.)
For?
