If you have particular blessings you want, God will always deny those. But if you don’t care about other blessings, God will drown you in them. Why does God selectively deny the blessings that would mean a great deal to you, while at the same time pouring an ocean of meaningless (to you) blessings on you?

Remember that God is omniscient: He knows more about you than you do. He also knows your future, and what would benefit you most in the long run. There may be a huge disparity between what you think you want versus what God knows you need.

So let’s look at things: God deny the blessings that are important to me=losing trust and faith in God God giving me those blessings = gaining trust learning I can trust Him more. Yeah, that is a fail

There is no easy answer to the question raised here, but looking at my life and the lives of others that I know, there is some truth to the question posed. We simply do not know why. God has his reasons. That is all we can say with certainty.

Do not think that God owes you anything. As fallen creatures, the only thing we deserve is eternal damnation. Christ's selfless death on the cross is the sole reason we have a shot at redemption.

Again, you may believe certain blessings are important to you, but you are not God. You cannot know what is best for you, only He does. There is a reason He may not be answering your prayers. Pray to Him that you may have greater trust in His plan for your life.

What would the book of Job be had Job viewed his relationship with God as you do; transactional (ie. God gives me what I want and only then will I trust Him more). Job had literally everything taken away from Him, yet He remained steadfast in his trust in the Lord. In the end, Job received more wealth than what had been taken away from him.

Yet he lost what was most important: his kids. New ones would not have replaced the ones killed. At that point, Job’s wife would not have had to say to me, “curse God and die.” Pain will not drive Me to him for anything but relief. It will not increase love, trust, or anything like that.

First off, it's evident that his faith in God was most important to him, else he would have cursed God when his children were killed. But this is getting off track.

It's important to realize that this life is not supposed to be easy or painless. Suffering is a part of being a faithful Christian. St. Paul says as much:

"For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him" Philippians 1:29

When a child kicks and screams when his parents deny him excessive amounts candy, the worst thing they could do would be to give into his cries. God knows what is best for you - do not wail when you don't get your way.

It sure will, but it takes time and patience. In James it says he doesn’t answer our prayers because we ask amiss, wanting to spend his blessings on our lusts. If God doesn’t answer too, he wants us to wait or not change anything if he is silent. It will work itself out sometimes.

If you know He is not letting you then it sounds like you have a good relationship and you should accept his way. He does it for stretching that we grow spiritually, because he knows you just want stuff. Look to Gods spiritual blessings for what you need for growth and peace.

I don't know, but I only got what I wanted when I gave up trying to achieve it, I think it has something to do with not asking for your earthly desires to be met, and asking God to take your life and do what HE wants to do with it, we must remember he's in charge not us.

Those are the blessings I don’t care about. I have more than my fill. For an image my spiritual need is a solo cup. He is pouring the Pacific Ocean into it. By contrast the ones that mean anything to me, the material, my need is closer to a large lake and He is using an eye dropper. The biggest blessing I want is my 51 year old wife healed of the multiple strokes she has had. Without that, none of the spiritual blessings mean anything. If those are all He has to offer, then honestly I don’t care about anything He has.

You say that like it’s certain He’s going to deny you.
I’ve asked for God for something i really wanted a year ago, and sure enough God gave it to me. I was beyond happy, thrilled and euphoric and couldn’t stop praising Him. Also a year ago I entered a weird mental state, and my greatest desire of all was for it to stopped. I begged God and He didn’t do it. I wondered why He let me live in such torture. However I didn’t leave God, I kept the Faith that He was with me and nothing else mattered, and slowly but surely He helped me get it under control. God knows you better than you know yourself and He sees things you can’t. Everything God does is for the better.

Is the rising of the sun each morning meaningless to you?
Is having food and shelter meaningless?
Just curious.
