How can you be guilty of multiple kinds of murder of the same person?

It’s complicated, best summed up by saying that the redundancy ensures penalty and it goes to ensuring that if portions of the verdict are chucked, they have another verdict in place. The complicated answer goes to explaining the concept of ‘double jeopardy,’ due process, and preventing burdens on the court system.

Ultimately, only the most serious charge will go to determining his penalty, which the judge will articulate further during sentencing.

Now it's time to pray the BLM people don't do what they were getting ready to do anyway out of disappointment of being robbed of their opportunity to kill people and destroy things because, "reasons"!
Why would people that received justice riot? The saying is no justice no peace, while I don’t support BLM as a organization I believe there is a certain time to fight back.

The lesson I've learned is that it is politically effective for the left to threaten violence if they don't get what they want. An efficient use of power if I've ever seen it and the Democrats are to be acknowledged for their efforts at using riots for political purposes. It's effective and gets things done.

I think due to the context it’s pretty obvious.
It's obvious, but mistaken.

You shouldn't include looters and arsonists in your definition of "we", or it drags you down into the same category by association.

Justice was done. This time. This has been a trial of a man - but the American justice system has been tested too. People round the world waiting for this verdict are heaving a sigh of relief.

I think that this kind of sentencing is frivolous. Just piling on charges like that to increase the length of the prison sentence does nothing.

A life sentence is never frivolous. It is not unusual for multiple charges to be brought in the UK. What is different in the UK is that once the most serious charge has received a guilty verdict the lesser ones are likely to be set aside. That is, the charges are regarded as alternatives. It is possible to plead not guilty to murder and guilty of manslaughter. Maybe Chauvin got the full set because he pleaded not guilty to them all.

Is Chauvin at risk of the death penalty?

George Floyd's family and friends and supporters should not be labeled by you as looters and arsonists. You are the one with stinking thinking down in the gutter.

No. The highest charge was second degree, so no special circumstances.

How is this relevant? Perhaps you are suggesting that the jury was somehow influenced more by what had not happened than by the overwhelming evidence of Chauvin's guilt. Do you think he should have been acquitted?

Nithvela is not actually labelling his supporters as arsonists/looters so much as suspecting that there are a lot of idiots looking to take advantage and cause trouble.

Yes I do think he should have been acquitted. But my opinion doesn't matter. What matters is that on the left you have the monopoly of violent force. You will continue to win now no matter what happens. Chauvin might appeal but it will be ultimately rejected in order to preserve peace and make sure there are no riots like there were last year.

Wonderful, no?

The only reason I wasn’t there with the looters and arsonists is because I have children. I think a group of people are well within their moral right to make certain demands towards their natural rights. If a group of people have voted, they have protested, they have attempted to educated on their experience and the response is “race baiters,” “it doesn’t happen that often,” “stop playing the victim” and “you just want to play the race card.” The only logical response is to meet violence with destruction. After peaceful negotiations fail the next step logically is violence.

The interesting thing is the same black leaders that headed peaceful protests while fighting Jim Crow were also called race baiters and their concerns were also rejected. However I have an interesting t-shirt it’s says “I am not my ancestors.” These young brothers and sisters fighting back aren’t the same people that marched with Dr. Reverend MLK.

I'm curious what timeline you shifted in from, because there is plenty of organised rightwing street violence going on in recent months too.

To God be the glory, this is an example of the power of prayer. For once the judicial system has worked, let this be an example to police officers everywhere. I was going to leave this country now I’m thinking about staying.
The god of the World, certainly. The God of Abraham, certainly not.

Hey if you believe that, believe it. Just know BLM was mostly peaceful and only racists disagree.
