The riots and marches are about far more than police violence. They are even about more than black people alone. You haven't been listening very closely.

The riots and marches are just evidence that many people lack critical thinking skills.

What have they accomplished? IMO they have only inflamed racism.

They've given a peek into the nature of those people.

Stats huh? You have told us repeatedly on this forum that stats are useless, and that each individual case should be examined.

Changed your mind, or just do as I say, not as I do flavoured hypocrisy?

I still favor case histories.

That's not how it works, that's not how any of this works.

Cause and effect is how it works. Even the Dems understand this, as they are talking about seeking the "root causes" of minority problems here and abroad. Of course what they should be looking for are causes that will have successful effects. They also might discover that as racism becomes less of a factor that the problems within minority communities need to be examined more closely.

Your statement here has nothing to do with your incorrect assertion that comparing rates between different populations is not a good metric. That's exactly how you compare things to get a more apples to apples comparison.

To quote from the article:

"In 2019, 15 unarmed black people were shot and killed by on-duty police officers, compared with 25 whites"

This is a ratio of 5:3 white people killed vs black people. The ratio of white to black in the US population is much higher than that so that statistic actually says that black people are far more likely to be killed by the police than white people.
Because Blacks are also disproportionately engaged in criminal behavior.

Your OP ignores the fact that African Americans make up less than 14% of the population, so it is hardly Surprising there are less deaths, but deaths per population I refer you to post #4. And as I said if guns were not so idolised in the USA police might not have assume everyone had one, and respond accordingly.
Time to end the false narrative with some real facts.
According to 2016 FBI data, black men commit murder 572.8% more than white men. Rapes are committed at a level of 146.1% greater, robbery at 617.9% greater, aggravated assault at 203.3% greater and violent crime in total at 263.6% greater. Simple, just read through the DOJ reports, and I mean really read through them, it's a lot of information, but you'll see in their investigation a pattern of harassment directed at African Americans:
I kind of scratch my head when people say they don't buy the fact there is disproportionate treatment. There is the crime argument, but studies have looked at that issue and it is simply not true. Moreover, there is an issue of bad police officers staying on the force. In one study they found most police officers (84%) have witnessed colleagues use excessive force on civilians, and most admit (61%) they don't report even serious criminal violations. The thing is, most police officers see it, it is done by a minority of police officers, but most do nothing about it. So guess what? It tarnishes all officers because the fact that these "bad apples" remain makes it appear that the behavior is condoned. People use the bad apple idiom and forget to finish it, "One bad apple spoils the bunch." That's a clear systemic problem. But there are also studies besides DOJ reports that concur with the findings of racial bias in policing (What the Data Really Says About Police and Racial Bias). Nonetheless, we hear the same excuses, black people are more violent, it's about their level of crime, <insert dog whistle argument about black people or "black culture">, etc.

As a black person can you describe (and enumerate) the current problems in the black community that are caused by racism today?

Comparisons are meaningless unless you are insisting on equity? At the end of the day each case is unique and individual.

They are People with differing opinions to you, Nothing more, nothing less. What an arrogant and unpleasant post.

So in your opinion rioting, burning, and looting are acceptable expressions of 'differing opinions'.

And what “false narrative” is that supposed to be ending?
it should be obvious the false narrative is that Black people are killed at a disproportionate level by police. Again it is caused because those same people are committing violent crimes at a disproportionate level. The police are not actively seeking out and killing black people.

The statistics on the first page of this thread suggest that they actually are.

Has “the media” suggested that the police are actively seeking and killing black people? What a ridiculous straw man.

(You might find the odd extreme opinion piece that does say that, not that I’ve seen one, but to suggest it’s a media narrative is entirely false)
